Upon arriving at the office, they wanted to take additional X-rays, despite my recent X-rays, which made me concerned about the insurance covering the extra cost. Dr. Nevins basically berated me into having the X-rays and said, and I quote, "It is not about the money." Never once did I mention money. He went so far as to tell my husband to "trade me in for a younger model." Fast forward, the insurance rejected the request for gel injections because the office failed to provide the necessary information to reflect all the treatments I had sought and completed. I spent my own time contacting the insurance company to find out what information was required to gain approval. I relayed this to the office, only to be told that, per the doctor, they do not do appeals and that I would need to come in for yet another office visit or pay for the injections out of pocket. I brought this all to the attention of the office manager, Sergio Valdes, who couldn't have cared less. He said they have a department dedicated to appeals. Well, that isn't what I was told. I canceled all future appointments and refuse to be a patient at this office. Please read all the reviews they all have the exact same theme.

I came into the office and was greeted by the staff. I did the paperwork and didn't have my insurance card but that was no problem, they got it somehow. I was taken to a room and within 5 minutes, the doctor came in and said hello, using my name, introduced himself, shook my hand and we discussed my problem. He gave me some solutions with included a metatarsal pad which he installed in my shoe and he gave me a cortisone shot. He was very hands on and helpful. The following day, my foot pain was gone. He politely suggested that I only take my class maybe once a week but to probably try something else to avoid any future pain. If the cortisone shot did not work for me, he advised me to come back in to discuss another plan of action.

My name is Patricia, age 74 & this surgeon severely screwed my elder years up since my last surgery…read more(fusion L2 to L5). I'm so sorry I gave him permission to open me. I am on oxycodone every 4 hours for the excruciating tailbone pain that comes without fail & then I wait for the pain to slowly begin to work. I now have severe osteoporosis because I can't leave my bed. I only do errands when I must leave my house. I wish Khavkin stayed in Russia & I never screwed me up. Death is better than living the life he left me till I die. The surgery was approximately 8 years ago after I finished taking care of my dad after my mom passed 12 yrs later. I worked on my feet for 8 hours & then went home to care for my dad. It was a tough life but dad needed me & I couldn't refuse like my sister & brother.
