We have come here from Manhattan, KS (1 hour drive away) for the past three years. It is absolutely the best pumpkin patch we have ever been to. (And I'm a gluten for pumpkin spice, you'd better believe we have tried MANY in several states.) This pumpkin patch is so large that (if you ride the hayride to the pumpkin field) it is nearly impossible to do all of the activities. Multiple huge slides, incredible playgrounds, and tree houses spread out over many acres. 3 or 4 big bubble bouncers, a big barn of corn, I mean. It's fantastic. You'll also notice that all the one-star reviewers over there had issues with hours. So, I guess call ahead? We've always gone on fridays and arrived first thing to get our money's worth. We have six people in our family, and I can't think of a cheaper all-day amusement park. When money matters, we do our research to ensure we get a great value. Walters isn't about getting a pumpkin... This place (and the drive that it takes to get here) is all about the kids--it's an escape into a magical pumpkin land.
Tips: Start the day there as early as you can!
Pack your OWN lunch. They have a restaurant, but it can be very busy and have long lines. We ate there once without much trouble, and the (I think chili?) was delicious. The rest of the time, we've opted to skip the food lines so that we can play.
Fall temps in Kansas can vary as can the wind. Bring sunglasses to protect eyes from blowing dust for you and kids. Bring jackets and have short sleeve layers beneath so that you can be comforable all-day long.
Bring a first aid kit and sunscreen. I'm not saying this place is unsafe--it's not, much safer than another patch much closer to us--however, with four kids and tons of running around something is bound to happen. It's so much easier when I have boo-boo cream and bandaids in the bag.
Give kids who need it allergy medicine (Claritin) so that they can have endurance and eyes that aren't itchy if being outside gets to them.
Bring WATER BOTTLES!!! Kids will play hard and you will get lots of steps in following them around. read more
