Besides having a silog or breakfast meal any time of the day, one of my comfort cuisine si Chinese food. It's cheap, meals are served at a faster pace, and food is yummy. Laid with MSG, Chinese food serves as a serotonine for me.
The quest for cheap and but delicious food brought me to Banawe st.. It was Chinese restaurant heaven for me (Binondo is still the nirvana of Chinese food in Manila) because most every corner of the said street has a Chinese restaurant. I chose Wanchai because it offered the cheapest dimsum. Prices range from Php39 to Php 69, and sometimes, it goes 20% off or more! Entering Wanchai, it felt like a community restaurant/eatery. Waiters knew customers, customers knowing personally waiters and customers greet fellow customers. One of the best chicken feet is served here. The meat from the feet is tender, its sauce is perfect. It is not salty nor too sweet. Siopao asado is also a must try. Actually, every single dimsum on the menu is a must try. Craving for some Chinese dimsum at a penny's cost? Try Wanchai! read more
