The farm is run by Anil & Kelly who are so friendly and you can tell they have such a strong passion and love for farming, goats, and the land the farm sits on. We started off with Kelly telling us about the history of the land/farm located here including before them it was a farm passed down through 6 generations. She has even wrote a book documenting the history of the family before called "Birth, Death, and a Tractor: Connecting an Old Farm to a New Family". After the history she described the goats and many products they create through the milking process and we could even sample some of milk and a variety of cheeses. After this fantastic history of the farm we went down to see the current goat kids they have (20 of them). All so cute and ready for attention and scratches. Once it hit time we were able to go on a hike/walk with everyone interested and the kid goats following along jumping with excitement. Each goat had a tag with their name and all of them had so much personality. Amazing place to visit if you want to spend time with goats! They had some vendors at the farm including some food options too for drinks or food after the walk/hike. Lastly we went inside where the goats are milked (milking parlor) and they had a replaying video explaining the process. You can even find it on YouTube it is very informative! Loved visiting and getting to see and play with the goats but also hear the history and see the passion that Anil & Kelly have in running this farm. My friends and I sat on top of a small hill overlooking the farm for about 20 minutes and just enjoyed the fall colors, green fields, the brook and pond. It is a gorgeous farm. The two owners have advanced degrees in agriculture.

Since there are only three guest rooms I imagine it's a serene place to stay any time of year. The owners were very friendly and served a delicious breakfast. We stayed in the Fireside room, which as its name suggests has a lovely (and warm) gas fireplace. On a cold April night it was so cozy in our room. The whole inn has unique antique touches but with all the amenities you would want. Rooms: Since we were the only guests I was able to check out the other rooms, all of which were lovely. The Fireside room has the fireplace (you'll likely only use it in the winter/fall because it does produce heat), pretty vintage wallpaper, and a comfortable bed with a firm mattress. You have to step down into the bathroom area and the sink is inside the bedroom, which I found to be funky/charming. If you want a tiny bit more privacy book the Androscoggin room. It also has the best view, a little seating area, and it's the only room with a bathtub (the other two have showers). I thought the Garden room was the prettiest room, but that is subjective of course. The photos here and on their website are accurate, the house is very clean and beautifully appointed. A few traveler tips: The rooms don't have TVs but there is one in the common area downstairs for guest use. This didn't bother us but for some it may be an issue (or a bonus). The stairs are steep and may be challenging for anyone with limited mobility (all guest rooms are upstairs). The only very minor complaint I have -and this does not effect my 5 star rating because we knew about it ahead of time- is that they only serve breakfast until 9am, checkout is at 10:30, and there is no flexibility on either (on Sundays anyway, in order for the owners to attend church). We overslept by 15 minutes and they graciously still served us, I wouldn't have been upset if they closed the kitchen as it was our mistake. They also said that checkout was at 10:30, but at 10:18 the owner came to our door to usher us out. BUT, like I said we knew about this ahead of time and still chose to book, and we're glad we did. It was a lovely stay.

The owner of this small travel company goes on every trip. She's been doing this work for 25 years and seems to know everyone; the local guides, the restaurant owners, the drivers, and excursion operators. It is evident that she cares deeply about everyone having a positive experience. And she takes care of all the details. Even though we stayed busy with visiting ancient ruins, museums, shopping, dining, and touring small hill towns, I found the experience to be relaxing because I knew all the details were taken care of.

However, only upon arrival, we were told, the 3rd shower was broken(for the season) so we had to share showers. No compensation has been offered since we did not get what we paid for. Even as a small goodwill gesture. 2. One downstairs bathroom door was clear pane glass with no curtain. The door faced out toward the front porch's bedroom windows. No privacy from the bedroom and especially with the onsite caretaker on the porch. 3. I expect 1-2 extra toilet paper rolls in each bathroom. No, we had to search and finally found only 2 extra rolls in 1 bathroom. On their website, under History, they state "pride in attention to detail" and "no surprises." This is far from the truth from our stay at High Head. High Head has several good points, but just be prepared.

It is open 11 am to 3 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in July and August until Labor Day. The home has been restored to its original character and contains household furnishings from the period. It also contains carpenters' tools, navigational instruments and charts and old photographs. This is an excellent museum which highlights Bath's proud history of shipbuilding in Maine…read more Although the admission fee is high ($20 or $22), it helps to support the volunteers and activities of the museum. We only had 2 hours available, so we focused largely on the exhibits. The museum includes various buildings which highlight different aspect of shipbuilding from caulking, blacksmithing, and building skiffs (modern day boats used to travel on Maine's coastal waterways). We loved the exhibit on lobstering in Maine - with superb displays that showed why Maine's lobsters are prized worldwide (they have the best claw meat), and a colorful display of buoys and traps. Talking with volunteers about the art of woodcarving and building skiffs was very interesting. It was cool to see the flagpoles (representing the Wyoming schooner) and Bath Iron Works in the distance (a current shipyard for the U.S. Navy). Since we only had 2 hours available from 10am-12pm, we could not join the afternoon lighthouse cruises (which looked like fun). Overall, we enjoyed our visit to the Maine Maritime Museum! You'll learn a lot about Bath's proud history of shipbuilding and the tradition of lobstering in Maine.

I have whiled away more than one afternoon, watching the beautiful Kennebec River and all the wildlife from the grassy shore. This Museum is so much more than a museum; it's a celebration of Bath's relationship with the sea. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would!

The photo ops are endless here. The lobster bake for dinner was scrumptious! The owner, Todd, has a brother who is a lobster fisherman. He caught our lobsters the morning of the wedding! The corn on the cob was so sweet and the potatoes fluffy! Todd is a wonderful host and is so welcoming. I showed up a little early so we were browsing outside. Todd came right out and introduced himself and gave us a little tour and some interesting history of how his predecessors opened the Bed and Breakfast. I would've given 5 stars but we did have some "communication" issues with Todd's wife, Karen. In all fairness to her, she did admit to me on the phone that she was only involved since Todd's Mom had passed away 2 years ago. I don't think this is her "niche" and, sadly it shows. Imo, she doesn't seem like a "people person" which caused some unnecessary stress at times. However, I do have to say she is a fantastic cook! Overall, I do recommend The Mooring Bed and Breakfast.
