I had such a great experience here! I've been looking all over for a new pair of glasses, and I chose the very first pair I laid eyes on when I walked in the store. First of all, the service was great. They're very helpful but not overly intrusive. I've been to optical places where the workers are just breathing down your neck and watching every pair you try on, but that was not the case here. They all seem very patient and willing to give you the space you need. They also made the ordering process very easy. I didn't know my exact prescription, but they were able to figure it out by looking at my current pair of glasses. They also are willing to call your eye doctor to get your prescription so you don't have to worry. Next, the selection of glasses was modern and stylish! I wish I would have taken a picture of the entire selection, but the picture I have here is of the pair I chose immediately. They organize the options by shape, and they have a nice variety of styles. They also have a wall of sunglasses on the other side of the store. Not to mention, they get new styles in every few weeks/months, so there will always be great options to choose from! Lastly, the prices are so worth it! $95 for a pair of nice glasses is nothing compared to other optical places where they charge you $200+. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're on a hunt for glasses. Like I said, I found mine within one minute of walking in the store! I will be back for more without a doubt.

I had Lasik in 1999 and it's served me well all of these years but, as I hit my 40s, I noticed that small type on labels started to get excruciatingly, unreadably small. I ordered some nice frames from Warby Parker via mail order during the pandemic, and they were wonderful to work with, even shipping me a completely new pair of glasses when I decided I'd rather go with reader-style lenses than the original prescription I had filled. I also added blue light protection since I primarily use them while working on my home computer. I guess I don't treat my things very gently and managed to lose both screws from the one earpiece within a few months, as well as damage that hinge. When I took the glasses along on a recent trip to South Hills Village, which has four different vision providers, not a single one of them had these apparently obscure screws. I called this Warby Parker location to ask if they had them before making the drive and they assured me that they did and, even if for some reason they didn't, they would be able to swap out the frames since they carry all the frames. Walking into the store I was immediately welcomed and someone took my glasses to work on them. I enjoyed walking around the store looking at their vast selection of frames, trying on a couple in person since I hadn't had that experience online (although the virtual try-on was fantastic), and even checking out some sunglasses and accessories. The store personal presence was available and helpful but not even remotely pushy in terms of trying to upsell me anything. They helped me efficiently and even gave me a brand new case as I was using the original shipment box to carry around my glasses that day. I also enjoyed spending an afternoon in this part of East Liberty, which has a bunch of cool little shops and eateries. So glad Warby Parker has a couple of physical locations (here and Ross Park) in the area!

I went to Warby Parker on their opening day at their East Liberty location, about one block from Target. I've been to two other locations; This well-known online eyewear retailer has opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Pittsburgh, offering Unique, modern frames starting at $95, including prescription lenses. Stores offer a broad selection of frames, displayed on bookshelf-style walls that you can freely try on. Once you've decided on a frame, ordering is quick (no more than 10 min), which you place with any representative. The store is a little on the small side, so milling around from wall-to-wall and getting mirror space to check out frames can be a bit cumbersome, but the location is well staffed, so once you've made a selection, the process to order is quick.

I wish I could give zero stars. MyEyeDr's outrageous understaffing wasted hours of my precious time…read moreand caused me to miss a critical therapy appointment. The shameless prioritization of bottom line over patient wellbeing on display here is unacceptable. I had an appointment scheduled well in advance, which I arrived on time for. I expected to be seen promptly as a patient who took the proper steps. Instead, I was left waiting for an egregious length of time, nearly TWO HOURS past my appointment time. The staff, while apologetic, was clearly overwhelmed and unable to manage the volume of patients. They were frantically trying to serve the queue that had built up due to the irresponsible lack of personnel. It's obvious that MyEyeDr's corporate overlords have implemented "lean staffing" policies that make it impossible for even diligent employees to provide timely care. This greedy, abusive understaffing directly caused me to miss a vital therapy appointment. As someone who relies on carefully scheduled care to maintain my mental health, this disruption to my treatment and self-care at a vulnerable time was devastating. MyEyeDr's profits-over-people mismanagement of resources threw a wrench into my essential healthcare. It's clear this business cares more about pinching pennies than providing proper patient support. They're willing to understaff locations and leave both employees and patients floundering just to juice their margins. The anxiety, frustration, and disruption to my care plan I suffered as a result is unforgivable. Patients are not just line items in your budget to be squeezed for every last dollar, MyEyeDr. We are human beings with important needs and commitments outside your doors. The utter lack of regard for our time, health, and emotional welfare displayed by your abusive understaffing is disgraceful. I have never felt so devalued and disrespected by a healthcare provider's business practices. If I could be compensated for the incalculable cost of the time and therapy I lost to your toxic policies, it would still barely scratch the surface of the harm done. I advise everyone to steer clear of MyEyeDr and their unethical lean staffing approach. Protect your time, your health, and your dignity and find an optometrist that actually invests in adequate staff to serve patients properly. No one deserves to have their time stolen and their mental health jeopardized by such rapacious, self-sabotaging corporate greed. This experience has shaken my faith in medical businesses and left me feeling deeply violated and unvalued as a patient. The trauma of being so deprioritized and mistreated due to an intentional refusal to responsibly resource a medical practice will stay with me for a long time. MyEyeDr needs to take a long, hard look at their staffing policies and remember their obligations to the human beings in their care. Patients are not an expendable resource to be bled dry for the sake of your bottom line. Until you start properly staffing your locations and put people over profits, you are not worthy of serving vulnerable healthcare consumers. I'm sharing my story so others can avoid being victimized by your abusive "lean staffing" practices. Take your business elsewhere, folks. MyEyeDr will just leave you lean on time, lean on dignity, and bled dry for their balance sheet.

I scheduled an appointment since I got vision insurance for the first time, and because I was having trouble seeing while driving in the dark. I felt like my eyes were being strained from constantly being in front of a computer screen. The appointment was very thorough and the doctor and other staff were friendly. I expressed my concerns for having air blown in my eye balls, and getting my pupils dilated. The doctor informed me that he didn't need to do the puff of air in my eyes because he had another way of testing the pressure. I was relieved. Once he put the eye drops in my eyes, he said I had about 15 minutes before things would start to get blurry. The woman at the front helped me look at frames and decide which ones I liked best. I tried on a bunch and decided between my top 3 favorites. I thought they had a good selection of designer frames. At this point my eyes got super blurry from the dilation drops when it was time to pay. I was so embarrassed because I couldn't see anything when I tried to hand the woman my health savings card. We then realized I never activated it. I felt so bad, but I had to ask her to read the numbers off of it for me to call to activate it. She helped ring me up and explained everything as I tried on glasses so there were no surprise charges. I was there for an hour and 15 minutes total, which was much longer than I expected. I had no idea what all an eye appointment entailed. It was very comfortable and clean. The doctor was patient and answered all of my questions. I chose this place based on Yelp reviews and distance to where I live. I can't wait to go pick my first pair of glasses in a few weeks!

I will say that making an appointment is super easy and they even have a telephone prompted call to remind you the day before. That is great service. The staff is also friendly and really helpful. The appointments go by quickly and there has never been a wait time. I like the idea that when I have an appointment it is kept, and kept at the time that I made it. The frames are interesting and always hip. The prices are ok. I will say that on the whole they are a bit more expensive than I would normally like to pay. But I will pay that much for some prescription sunglasses because I drive around so much. Another thing that I like about this Vision Care is that they will give me my prescription and pupilary distance without making a huge stink about it. I pay for my appointment and for my sunglasses so if I want to get glasses cheaper online they allow that. Some other places do not and that is what makes me continue to use Vision Care above anything else. Anyone in the neighborhood should get their eye care here. It is great. The service and staff are top notch. You cannot ask for much more.

Yet, they still charged me the full amount out-of-pocket. When I asked the front desk how much allowance I had left for contact lenses, they told me I still had $165 left (originally $175). However, after I called my insurance company to check the claim, I found out they didn't actually claim the charge through my insurance and made me pay entirely out of pocket.
