I will let the facts speak for themselves... 4/8 1/2 down was paid. 4/19 Dustin stated he would start on 5/3 5/1 Dustin said waiting on shingles to arrive. Said should be there 3rd or 4th. 5/4 No word from Wards. I asked if shingles arrived. 5/4 responded delivery date is Friday 5/7 5/7 No delivery or contact from Wards. I reached out that evening. He stated they couldn't deliver due to delivery driver with covid. My husband asked that they please reach out to us to inform us what is going on instead of us having to check ourselves. Responded that delivery would be 5/10 and roof will be done that week. 5/10 Told us material will be delivered 5/10 or 5/11. 5/14 Materials delivered and told they would start roofing 5/17. 5/17 Nobody showed or called. We emailed in evening. He said they were finishing up a job and would be here soon. Nobody showed. 5/20 Wards emailed they will have someone here in morning. Also confirmed that evening yes they will be here in morning. 5/21 started roof. Removed one small section. Said would be here at 7am 5/22. Asked if they could leave the mess and clean following day when here. We said yes trusting they would be back at 7 am. 5/22 Nobody called or showed. We had to remove mess from patio stairs ourselves as no way in or out without climbing on it. Dustin sent up his wife and small children to clean the mess. The Blink camera heard the older boy say, "You know what Austin did last night, he ain't showing up here today." Alot of arguing among kids. His wife promised we would have someone out in the morning. She's on the Blink camera talking on the phone with someone saying they have to get someone up here immediately to finish stripping and seeling the roof. 5/22 I asked if we would have anyone out here 5/23. Responded yes. 5/23 No show again and no communication. This is when I had to get demanding and got after them for not honoring their promises. Reminded them that we were on a deadline. Then rain set in. 5/25 they emailed stating would be out 5/26. They were. 5/26 They damaged/ knocked down our gutter and sophet. 5/27 Steady leak in living room, damaged a brand new printer. I very nicely said, "Hey guys, I don't know if you know this, but it's leaking in my living room." The guy that sounds stoned said, "How would I know that, I'm not in your living room." Thomas stated Dustin would be out 5/28 to repair the damage.They ran out of shingles as well. Also, the radio they were playing was constantly saying F bombs, more than 5 per minute. 5/28 Finished. His little kids came up again to clean the mess. Peed behind garage. Argued constantly. Fixed the damage on the gutter and sophet, but trampled mud path into the lawn and large muddy ruts in the driveway. I sent my payment info and authorized the specific amount we agreed upon. He charged my card for more than what we agreed upon, without notifying me first or communicating that it would be more than he said, and stated it was for the extra hours and material for the gutter repair that THEY broke. He got snippy with me about why I didn't tell them sooner about the leak and I said, I emailed you this morning and also, I told the guys when it happened and discussed with them again a couple hours later. Dustin said he would refund the (fraudulent) overage when I told him I would be disputing the charge. 5/29 money has not been refunded yet, nor is it showing pending in my account. Might I add, there was never an apology for any of this, other than when the wife apologized for the first mess. It took me an hour today to finish cleaning up the mess they left yesterday on steps, sidewalks and the deck. Nails, staples and chunks of concrete from the chimney were strewn about the yard. We had told them from the beginning that we were on a deadline, which I'm surprised they ended up fulfilling on the last day possible, and I'm convinced that had I not gotten demanding, we wouldn't have made it. We are some of the easiest people to get along with, but when treated so disrespectful for so long, and having to endure multiple empty promises, I had to get demanding with them just to get it done. I would give them a minus ten stars if I could, and would never, in a million years recommend them. Reading a couple of other reviews is like re-living my experience. Dustin told me it would take 7 to 10 days to reroof my apartment building. It took over 10 weeks. I am a retired Mechanical Contractor, I know how to handle contractors, Wards Roofing cannot be trusted to do what they say they will do. A week after they received their final payment we sent them a warranty request with this picture. Initially Dustin questioned whether he was responsible. Yes, you heard that right. Well we have been promised 3 times that someone would check out the leak. Two weeks of phone calls and NOTHING. I am forced to contact the state Contractors License Board to file a complaint. I would give 0 stars if I could. They took well over a week to complete the job poorly. Made a complete mess of my yard and my neighbors yards. Nearly 6 months later I'm still picking up nails and pieces of old roofing out of my yard so my dogs do t eat it or hurt themselves in nails. They didn't use chalk lines so half of the plywood nails missed their mark and now create hazard in my attic. Most of the nails through the shingles was either too deep or not deep enough. Many shingles were split in two from the nails. They didn't do the vents correctly so went back after the fact and threw a few cuts in. Next QUALITY of preformed work, my roof Will last the 30 + yrs it's designed to because of How it was put on. Now let's talk about my neighbor's house that WARD is doing... First materials were left in their yard for almost 2 weeks Before any workers showed up... when the workers have come they work ( if one could call half of what they do work) 2 to 3 hours and then leave. Leaving debris in the yard I'm going to guess for Final day cleanup ? ? But they Never show up more than twice a week. I understand that First the old has to come off and then the new is put on, but it has already taken them 3 Weeks and they're Still Not done. QUALITY?? Grade D yes they replaces plywood and then began the roofing process on top as should be, but anyone that sees this roof would think they must be drunk or something because they CAN'T do it CORRECT!! I HAD WARDS ROOFING DO MY ROOFING and they forgot some flashing and left trash on my roof. Before I noticed that I gave them money down to do two more things flooring and some drywall that was going to take days but turned into months. The floors were not leveled up so the floor is cracking I spots and they will not fix it so I asked them for my deposit back for the drywall that was never started and have yet to see it weeks later. read more
