State of Maryland is easy to get to from NYC making it a fun place to visit. You gotta visit Charm…read moreCity Cakes notable for the show Ace of Cakes. I loved that show when I watched the Food Channel. Naturally the historic Baltimore Orioles are a must see at Oriole Park in Camden Yards. If you live in NYC I recommend a long weekend trip to Maryland. Thanks May for reviewing Maryland!

Just Go (#40) I…read moredidn't expect to include Maryland in our DC trip early this year but we were able to do enough activities, see some of the attractions and visit a couple of museums while we were there that I can say that I've been to the Great State of Maryland. BALTIMORE: Fells Point - located along the north shore of the Baltimore Harbor and just less than 10 miles from our hotel, Fell's Point is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Baltimore. Fell in love with the cobblestone streets with many waterfront restaurants and bars and the local cute boutiques shops. This historic waterfront was once a bustling shipbuilding port. Check out the bakery where all the locals go, the Pitango Bakery Cafe Edgar Allan Poe Grave - unfortunately at the time of our visit the gates to the Westminster Burial Ground were closed and locked but we were still able to see the headstone between the iron fence in the front corner of the cemetery. This was cool to see. Poe's full name is written in capital letters on the base. Barcocina - tried their Breakfast Burrito and Shrimp & Crab Omelette... if we ever return to Baltimore we're hitting this place up first. This restaurant can be found at Fell's Point inside the Brown's Wharf. LAUREL: Patuxent Research Refuge (National Wildlife Visitor Center) - we briefly connected with nature and just explored a little bit of the area which offered 13,000 of wetlands, meadow, and forest. The Visitor Center was closed but the grounds were open. The scenery is beautiful in winter time with the snow. We don't see snow like this in California. There were interpretive signs on the trails. FREDERICK: National Museum of Civil War Medicine - this museum is dedicated to telling the medical story of the Civil War. There were a lot to see... and learn. Each gallery offered different exhibits following through the footsteps of the soldiers and surgeons and the harsh conditions and personal sacrifices they went through. I can't even imagine how they evacuate the wounded... an "ambulance" then was a wagon pulled by two horses and carted off to a medical facility... or how about how they did amputations. YIKES!! Monocacy National Battlefield - this was the site of the Battle of Monocacy in the American Civil War fought on July 9, 1864, the 1864 battle that saved Washington, DC from Confederate invasion. The battlefield was covered in snow at the time of our visit and, unfortunately, the Visitor Center was closed. GLEN BURNIE: Yama Sushi Bar - we ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts and our bill still wasn't even close to what we would've paid in California. Great food and an even better food prices. Squisito Pizza & Pasta - we snagged a deal from TGTG and purchased a surprise bag from Squisito Pizza & Pasta. Their pizzas are delicious! We will never forget the snowy day we visited the Great State of Maryland. Thank you for the experience. Review #3855

I want to give my opinions about eric's experience at the motor vehicle administration in essex,…read moremaryland. My loved one Was there to take hid/her driver skills test For the forth time. This is a person whom had literally more then 6000 miles of driving under their belt. This was a person that absolutely knew how to drive, PERIOD! Unfortunately for them it literally came down to the instructor. I don't know if the instructors realize it or not but they have A great responsibility. Meaning when you are rude and you have an attitude, And you are yelling at people, That is going to make them nervous. Anyone is going to be nervous when taking their driver's skills test. If it's important to them they'll be nervous. And we all know how important our driver's license are. So this review was not written to Put down anyone, But it was written, First of all to bring awareness to the subject. Secondly, And most importantly, to say how amazing our last visit was! Paula was our instructor. And right off the bat she was so kind and so respectful And so easy to understand and I could tell immediately that it was going to be different. I literally looked at my daughter and said I know ****** is gonna to pass. She was giving the instruction in Such a way that no one had done before! She was really The Epitome of what a driver skills instructor should be ! Kind, respectful, easy to understand, articulate and her intentions were " graceful". I use that word because sometimes when put in a position of power, some people tend to be almost " in love with their importance, or what they Perceive to be importance. I don't need to remind everyone how vital a driver's license is, For many reasons. So I believe these Instructor's Really need to humble themselves. I am not speaking for everyone at the motor vehicle administration, We only personally dealt with 4 people during the testing phase. The Maryland motor vehicle administration employs hundreds of people. So with that said. this review was not meant To be negative. I wanted to simply write a review about someone who did an impeccable job, And maybe not even realizing how much that momeny meant to someone else. Because it meant a lot. And I worried that if my loved one did not pass their test that day, that they may be so discouraged, they would never come back! Luckily my intuition was correct, And they pass with flying colors! Unfortunately , For me that Confirmed that The instructor's Play a bigger part And the outcome of these tests, then they may realize. I just want to say again how amazing Paula was. I don't think she could comprehend how Much that day meant to us!!!!! Thanks again paula for your impeccable service and kind manner, It made all of the difference!
