We took a Golden Tours bus from Baker street in central London (8:10am departure), got in around 9:30am before the big crowds and left around 2pm, made it back to London around 3pm. Food wise, we had the Hogwarts English breakfast in the food hall area which was nice (our entry ticket for the beginning of the tour was 10am). The bread was stamped with the Hogwarts logo. There is a separate dining experience where you have reserved tickets and can eat in a more decorated area with hanging candles (we didn't do this but it looked very cool). This place was so hard to get tickets to a month prior. We had to book a tour to get in, which was fine because we needed transportation to get there anyways. We arrived at our alotted time and took some photos out front. The entry is hype and the first part is as a group as you enter the scene from the movies. From there, it is self guided the rest of the way. There are so many photo opps and movie memorabilia. They did a good job of making it interactive with live demos and shows. There is a cafe halfway through which is a good way to know your pace. We were there for 4 hours and could have spent more time, having not even come close to reading everything. Harry Potter Studios, London England, April 7 Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 visited the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London after taking the train out to Watford. Once at the station parking lot, there is a short line for the shuttle bus, and then after about 30 to 40 minutes it n the shuttle, you arrive on the grounds. After a 10 minute walk past movie statues and themed features you reach the entrance. We had a 10 am reservation which my wife worked hard to secure and it set us up for a smooth entry into one of the most anticipated stops of the trip. We were looking for something immersive for the kids and it fully delivered as a behind the scenes experience. Arrival and First Impressions From the station onward there is a clear sense of scale and planning to the operation. The shuttle system and walk up build anticipation. Once inside it quickly shifts into a structured walkthrough that feels more like stepping onto a set than visiting a traditional attraction. The Highlights The sets were the standout with Diagon Alley and Gringotts especially impressive and detailed. The kids stayed engaged the entire time which speaks to how well paced and visual the experience is. About halfway through the tour you reach the main food hall which works as a natural break and that is where you can get butterbeer which was the clear highlight for everyone. There is also a separate butterbeer bar with themed drinks and sweets that adds a fun extra layer. The butterbeer ice cream was my favorite. Interactive elements like the broomstick green screen added a fun break in the walkthrough, however, to the photos were on the expensive side. The behind the scenes sections added a lot of depth and made the experience feel much richer than just set viewing. The Challenges It is a long experience and benefits from pacing yourself especially with kids. The food court is convenient but fairly expensive. Crowds build up around popular sets and the shuttle logistics at both ends add some time to the overall day. Final Thoughts This is a must do if you are a fan of the films and it works especially well for families. The mix of sets, interactive moments, and behind the scenes detail keeps it engaging start to finish. We would absolutely return again as the kids get older and notice even more of the detail. This was a dream come true! I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and this was on my bucket list of things to do while visiting London. We got the package that includes transportation to the studio since it's not actually located in London, but 1-1.5 hours away. We originally had reservations for the 1:30 time slot but moved it to 9:30 instead. I recommend to get to the studio as early as you can to avoid the large crowds. If you get tickets via the warner bros Website they work directly with golden tours. On the day of we were running 5 mins behind. We emailed and asked if they would wait an extra 5 minutes and the response was they were leaving promptly at 9:30. Somehow we made it exactly at 9:30 and to our surprise there were 4 people in front of us still checking into the tour bus. Not sure what the rush was since we didn't leave until 9:45. Once you arrive to the studio you get a "passport" That you can stamp and cross off things hidden throughout the studio and other cool things. With golden tours you will spend four hours at the studio before you are picked up. Four hours to tour, shop, and eat in the cafe is not enough time! This is an all day event. The studio alone can take you four hours to explore. The gift shop is huge and the cafe food was actually good. Besides the issue with the tour bus, this was worth every penny!!! I cannot recommend this enough. The studio had everything you can imagine and more. Props, photo ops, shows, the ins and outs of the production work that went into the movies- from action scenes to pet trainers and so much more. This was such a cool experience! 10/10!!! read more

My wife and I visited the Warner Bros Studio Tour during our vacation to London. We booked the bundle that included both the entry tickets and round trip transportation via bus from Central London. The whole experience was great! It was fascinating to see all the sets, props, and costumes on full display. There were also some pleasant surprises with special effects that you have to see for yourself! All in all, you definitely need at least 3 to be able to experience most of the exhibits and experiences at this tour. It's definitely more of an interactive museum rather than a "tour" since you are walking around the facility at your own pace. This place is a must do for any Harry Potter movie fan. I booked my tickets 4 months in advance and still the earliest that I could get was a 2:30 pm booking. My least favorite part was feeling a wee bit rushed in the Great Hall, but once you're past this area, you go at your own pace and can spend as much time as you like viewing the sets, props, and costumes. Also, after the Great Hall, the crowd spreads out and it feels more relaxed. An unexpected highlight was collecting stamps in my 'passport book' at various stops along the tour. There were so many highlights, but I really enjoyed the stepping inside the Hogwarts Express, Gringott's Bank, and visiting Professor Sprouts Greenhouse to see the mandrakes. read more

My first time was on the Warner Bros. studio tour in London. This place is pretty much a child's and adults' dream that was inspired by the Harry Potter stories and movies. It gets super busy in the summer months so please book ahead of time to reserve the day that you would like to attend. This place is quite large and you can spend the whole day here! As an avid Harry Potter fan I was quite excited to do the studio tour while in London. We decided to book a tour which included a bus ride from London, but I accidentally booked the wrong day. The company was able to work with us thankfully and we rode the bus there. The studio tour was self guided (we got the headsets which were honestly a little confusing) but it was incredible to see the sets. My only complaint was that it was incredibly crowded and hard to really appreciate or see anything. They had some live performances that we couldn't even watch due to the crowds, but I do enjoy it. As a hard core Harry Potter fan I am easy to please with HP stuff but also had super high expectations for the studio. It is super easy to get to from London. If you take in the train a HP bus picks you right up from the station in Watford. As soon as you step of the bus and see the giant wands and wizard chess pieces out front you are in HP Heaven. Every single thing was wonderful. Make sure to stop and get some butterbeer at the halfway point and don't skip on the photo ops outside in the car and motorbike. There is a giant gift store of course. In addition to being a huge HP fan I am also a huge afternoon tea fan so of course I could not pass up the chance to have afternoon tea a the studio. A must for Harry Potter fans! I am not a Harry Potter fan, but found the tour to be interesting. The tour consists of sets, costumes, designs, background, and fun facts from the making of all the Harry Potter movies. There are no rides, but some of the exhibits are interactive. Leave at least 3 hours to go through the studio. Some people spend even more time there. We went through quickly and it still took 3 hours. Tickets sell out quickly! As soon as you know you want to go, get tickets. You will be assigned a time. It is easy to get there on your own from London via train and free shuttle bus. If regular tickets are sold out, you can buy packages from approved vendors. Our package consisted of a coach bus ride from London and a ticket. At the studio, there are cafeterias at the entrance and halfway through. The food was actually pretty good! Husband said the wings were fantastic and I enjoyed the pea soup. Excellent service in advance preparing for our trip. With government evidence, entrance is free for the disabled, which is a big savings. Also we did not have to wait in line for the bus shuttle or at the venue even though we were a bit early for our tickets. From London we took the tube to a train to a shuttle bus (obviously we got on the wrong train on the way back...). It's a lot to remember so do ask for help. The experience itself is wonderful! Ok, so there is A TON to see! I would highly suggest arriving early in the day, then having tea at hogwarts (reserve in advance) as a nice lunch break and then continuing the tour. We stopped right before the forbidden forest... would suggest going after to make it more of a halfway point... and the amazing staff escorted us to tea, just grab anyone and they will bypass the studio and shortcut you to tea. Tour: Such an amazing tour and experience, first word that comes to mind is magical. I love seeing all of the original Harry Potter set and props. I especially loved seeing all the real special effects and the demonstrations they had showing off the effects and cgi. The butter beer tasted sour and like a coca-cola slurpee from 7/11. I thought it tasted different from others I've had, such as in Universal Studios. So heads up it may taste more sour and a bit different here. I enjoyed the chicken burger it was very good with the sauce it had on it kind of like an a thousand islands sauce. I thought the chicken was a bit small for the bun because a lot of bites I didn't get any chicken in. The fries were as good as they could have been, nice and tasty with the ketchup, perfect with the chicken sandwich. The burger was OK. The fries tasted very salty and good. The vegan wrap was delicious. I don't know what was in it. I was originally worried it was a bit small but the side of fries filled me up. For the butter beer I think the frozen type is very good, but just make sure that you give it a good mix. Make sure the foam Mixes in with the bottom layer before drinking. My mother ordered a vegan salad and it was very good and the price was very good. Also, the butter beer ice cream was very delicious. I recommend it over the butter beer drink. I took my four year old daughter (who has never seen a single Harry Potter movie) and we both had a blast! It was our first time in the UK and I can't wait to return again because we I'll definitely be doing this tour again! My inner child was in full force during this tour. Being able to see the set, real props used in the films, etc was such a treat! I couldn't even tell you what our favorite part was because she and I enjoyed every aspect of the experience. There were many surprises to discover and I liked the "treasure hunt" aspect of the tour as well. We weren't able to solve the puzzle but my daughter loved getting stamps along our travels in the passport. I highly recommend buying a souvenir book. My husband and I prioritized checking out the Harry Potter Studio Tour while in London since we were unable to get tickets for the Harry Potter Studio Tour when we were in Tokyo. Both studio tours are very pretty similar, with the Tokyo location being larger and having more interactive stuff, etc, since understandably that location is newer. But the London studio is the actual location where the films were made! When looking to buy tickets for the studio tour in London, tickets were sold out on WB's website for the dates we wanted. And we looked about 2 months in advance! Thankfully, there is a sightseeing and ticket company in London, Golden Tours that sold tickets and provided transportation to and from the WB Studio, which was even better! The studio was located in Leavesden, about 20+ miles outside of the city of London, and there was no way for us to get there via public transportation. Depending on which time slot you book for the tour, it could take 45 to 90 mins to get to and from Leavesden by the Golden Tour's charter bus. On the way, they played Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone movie for us to hype us up for the studio tour. Everything was very well organized. We were very pleased with Golden Tours company. There is no restroom on the bus if I recall correctly, so make sure to use the restroom before you get on the bus if you need to. Anyway, we got to the WB studio, and it was just the best. Memories of watching all the Harry Potter movies came flooding back. It was so nostalgic for anyone who grew up reading the books and watching the movies. Seeing the actual props and walking through the sets in person, having seen them in the movies, was so exciting! Some of the sets even included 4D effects as well, which was really fun. We saw lots of behind the scenes work and how props and sets were made. Watching the movies, you always think, how do they make these magical scenes work? There were also lots of staff members on site, ready to answer your questions, and help you take photos. Everyone was super nice. Of course, no trip to any Harry Potter attraction is complete without a butter beer! My husband and I savored our butter beers in the courtyard overlooking the Dursleys' residence, the Weasleys' residence, Herbology greenhouse, Knight Bus, and the Covered Bridge. These are all accessible except for the Weasley's home since it was not built to scale. Other accessible sets include the Great Hall, Dumbledore's office, the Forbidden Forest, Gringotts Bank, Hogsmeade Village, among many others. Other sets, though not accessible, can be appreciated from behind a rope or barrier. After finishing our butter beers and taking photos with every single set in the courtyard, we continued our tour that eventually led us to THE Hogwarts Castle that was used whenever they needed a shot of the entire castle. FYI, the castle was not built to scale, but it was still really, really large and super cool. There was soooo much to see. 3 hours never flew by so quickly. In the 3 hours we were there, we still managed to do some shopping in the gift shop and grab food at the cafeteria. Overall, it was totally worth it. That bus ride might seem long, but it really wasn't bad. If you are a Harry Potter fan, I would highly recommend checking it out! read more

This was a wonderful experience, worth every penny. We were staying near King's Cross during our trip so it was very easy to switch trains to catch the bus station to the studio. After checking in, we went and checked out the store to look gifts for friends. It was HUGE. They had plenty of Harry Potter gifts and items I hadn't seen before at places like the Universal Studio parks or at the Forbidden Forest in Leesburg, VA. They also had a decent amount of tour-related gifts, though I wish they had more (and especially ornaments which I like to purchase during trips!). We did self-guided tour without audio, and took it at our own pace. About halfway through they have an outdoor area and an indoor cafeteria. We got some loaded fries (although I repeatedly learned in london that "cheese" sauce is NOT melted cheese like America, it's very runny and just a general sauce) and butterbeer. I was scared to try the butterbeet because while I love the one at Universal, the one at Forbidden Forest was terrible (and that event is operated by Warner Brothers instead of Universal). However, I was delighted by the taste. Universal still has the best, but this one was still nice and sweet and butterscotchy. When I finally had adult money and time to travel I told myself one day I would visit England and see all those wonderful places and things I saw in the HP movies. Well I finally had that chance on March 2023. This was my #1 thing to do while staying in London and I do not regret it. LOVED IT!!! I absolutely loved all of it! This is the best thing you could do as a HP fan. If you have a HP fan in the family bring them here and it will make their year! I loved it so much I wanna go back again as soon as I can. I originally was gonna purchase tickets directly from then and go ono my own thru public transportation. I keep checking the website and there were lots of availability during my trip so I got carried away and forgot to buy my ticket. 2 weeks before my trip all ticket and time slots were sold out. I was so heartbroken but I had a back up plan to go and book with Golden tours as recommended by the studios site. Golden tours provided transportation to and from the studio and admission. More than what I wanted to spend but it was well worth it because the day I went was raining and I would have had a lot of trouble finding my way around the train station. Please Please book your tickets in advance!!!! I suggest coming here as early as possible to avoid as many of the crowds as possible. One thing i did not know but glad it was available was a bag storage. When you go to check in they kind of go over everything you need and they give you a passport to stamp as you make your way through the exhibit. There is a counter where they asked me if I would like to leave my backpack with them and I am glad I did because it made my trip through the studio so much lighter. I took the self guided tour so I was able to go at my own pace and take my time. Absolutely loved every minute of it. The staff here was amazing! You can tell they really enjoy what they do and they love sharing their experience with visitors. We booked the bus ride from Marylebone area to take us to the studio. The 90 minute ride in a double-decker was comfortable and convenient. We boarded the bus though about a city block (200 meters) from the meeting point so in bad weather or for those impaired it might be difficult. Tour was fabulous; so many artifacts from the movie series and so many knowledgeable folks working there. Another tourist was a budding costume designer and I listened in as a representative schooled her on different aspects of the HP wardrobe department. We booked "tea" which was ample and delicious. The waitstaff was top notch and extremely respectful of my allergies. Since my husband knew nothing of the HP franchise, it was fun to watch him learn about it all. Return transportation on same bus. BEST. TOUR. EVER!! Okay, listen up Harry Potter fans. If you get the opportunity to come to London, put this on your to do list! It is an amazing tour. At the beginning of the tour you are watching an interactive presentation followed by a short video of the cast of the movie. The biggest reveal is when they lift the screen to reveal a golden door that leads to the dinning area. It is unlike anything I have ever seenThey have different area and a whole bunch of sets to look at. Definitely an experience I will remember. Each section lead you into a different world where you were immersed in the movie. I was left thinking they can't possible too this and it just got better as you went through the tour. There are plenty of photo opportunities. There are multiple stores and my tip for purchasing items is get it. Each store carries different items and items are not at every location. A few things I bought and thought I'll get another were not available. I wish I tried the butter beer and passed on the opportunity because I was running on three hours of sleep because of flight and scheduling problems. But do yourself the favor and do as much as you can. I won't give away all the secrets to this tour but know you will definitely not be disappointed. As a huge Harry Potter fan, just like everyone else who goes here, the experience was definitely a 10/10. I traveled from the states just to come here and I'm not really sure what I expected but it did NOT disappoint. There's a whole bunch of movie sets, props, a couple interactive spots, and of course a bunch of gift shops. If you do take public transit here when you get off the train, follow the signs and there's actually a dedicated bus that will drop you off at the very front of Warner Bros for free as long as you have a valid ticket! I went once and just explored and then went again and rented the audio guide. I think it's worth the extra $10 or whatever it was to learn some random Harry Potter facts. The food was mediocre and the butterbeer wasn't that tasty if I'm being honest. Not sure if I had a bad batch but the one at Universal Studios Orlando and Hollywood tastes really different than the one here? It's still a must to try though! There are a lot of interactive exhibits, a cafeteria for food halfway through. It's every Harry Potter fan's dream come true. There are outdoor exhibits as well, a passport you can carry with you to stamp, obviously the infamous butterbeer where you can take home the cup. We had so much fun walking around at our own pace just taking in the marvelous sets, the design, the creativity. From hair and makeup to miniature models, to the actual robes that the actors wore, the experience is truly amazing. I thought that the food (hot dogs, hamburgers) wasn't the best food I've had, but it was a big portion. The fries weren't that great. But it's enough to refuel some energy for the rest of your trip. We were on the fence about traveling out of London proper to visit the WB studio tour, but we're very glad we did-- it ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip! There are so many positives: you could spend days in here and still not see everything. My family spent over 4 hours before we were exhausted enough to head back to London. Everything is done so well: the sets are amazing, the details are impressive, the number of exhibits were mind boggling, and the employees were all true Harry Potter fans, which made us feel like we were at a big HP conference with like-minded people. The biggest negative was how busy it was. We went on a Sunday and arrived at 11am for a 12pm tour. We took a train to Watford Junction Station, then hopped on a themed bus that took us directly to the tour. But there were so many people that they all couldn't fit on the bus, and it took some 15 minutes for the next bus to arrive. During the tour itself, we queued up and it took about 45 minutes to actually start the proper tour, although admittedly they did a wonderful job of keeping everyone entertained while we were waiting (short movies to watch, different rooms that we queued through, fun and hilarious guides along the way, etc.). When we finally got to the main tour, there was so much to see (there were no more queues at this point, it was kind of a free for all), and often there were too many people in front of us at certain exhibits for us to want to line up again. But regardless, we had a great time and got to see almost everything we wanted to, despite the crowds. Some tips: the breakfast in the lunchroom before you start the tour was AMAZING and reasonably priced considering what we got. I'd recommend showing up early and giving it a try. Also, we ended up buying the audio tour devices, which I probably would not have done in hindsight; there was so much to see and do that I ended up not listening to the guides very much. They did have an interactive map on them, which was honestly the most useful. And if you're going to buy Butterbeer (there is another kitchen roughly halfway through the tour), there is a separate line just for Butterbeer, so you don't have to wait through the food line if you're not getting food. There is so much merchandise to purchase, and I believe a lot of it can only be found at the studio tour. So take your time when shopping because once you leave the tour, you can't go back in to purchase anything you missed. Oh, lastly, there are plenty of photo opportunities all around, but the nicest for us were the Platform 9 3/4 going-through-the-wall stations. For whatever reason, those were not too busy so we got done nice photos. This is helpful because if you're hoping to get a similar photo at the actual Kings Cross Station in London, there is bound to be a long line. It was nice already getting that photo at the studio tour. All in all, if you have a day to spare while in London, and if you're even a moderate Harry Potter fan, I highly recommend the Warner Bros Studio Tour. I've been to several Harry Potter tours and this one was the most detailed. I wasn't expecting the building to be so large with so many exhibits to look at, but I was pleasantly surprised. The original props, costumes, and other effects really blew me away and you could easily spend hours maybe even an entire day here. The only (small-ish) con was getting to the Warner Bros Studio. I prefer walkable cities where I don't have to rely on paid transportation to get to attractions. I was staying at a hotel in central London and after a couple of hours of research decided to depend on the bus system - it took about 2.5 hours. I ultimately decided to take an Uber back which took over an hour, so the return wasn't as bad. read more

This was a really good experience for any Harry Potter fan. Came to visit here with a friend and everything was an experience. It starts you off at the beginning where you can eat and get drinks. Then you are lead to these doors with a group that shows off the timeline of the whole series, and they have you watch these videos of people experience and what they like about Harry Potter. Then after is the fun part where you get to explore many of the scenes on your own. Basically, at your own pace, you walk through the areas. They mentioned it takes about 3 hours for everyone to get through it all. It definitely had something from every movie. There were some interactions you can do, like get your pictures taken like as if you were in the train or a section with the spiders come out. Even some places where they do special affects where made you feel you were apart of the scene. Wish I could post more there was just so much to see. They had gift shops throughout the place but if you see something you like you should get it there because not all the gift shops have the same thing. There were some places too to sit down and eat or snack on if you get hungry. Overall I would recommend this place for any big Harry Potter fan. read more

Worth it! We took the bus for a bit outside of the city. You'll see a lot of quaint residential areas on the way. Everything was organized and on time that morning. The sets were perfect for pictures and the butterbeer was a fitting finale. We highly recommend the visit for fans of any age! There's a huge gift shop, too. read more

This Impressive, behind the scenes, studio tour will delight - whether or not you're a Harry Potter fan. It's rare you find an attraction that has considered everything, every person we came into contact with was a Harry Potter aficionado. They really seem to love their jobs and sharing the lore. Entry times allow 30 minutes to make your way through security and into the tour line. The tour entry isn't when you enter the building, it's further inside the big dragon room. Make sure you enter within your allotted time window. The first few exhibits are guided - the rest you can meander through at your own pace. Halfway through you'll find refreshments- namely butter beer plus many other choices. The lines move quickly and there is ample seating. Both of the two soundstages had something amazing to offer, of course the Hogworts Express train, the Gringotts Wizarding Bank, the Forbidden Forrest and Hogwarts grand hall are among my favourites. There is an incredible amount of imagination and artistry on display here - definitely wow factor if you're interested in movie magic. Lots to see and do, many green screen interactive exhibits plus shopping opportunities. There are frequent shuttle buses to the train station connecting to subway into London or a tour guided option. read more

A must go place if you're a fan of Harry Potter. Definitely try to buy the tickets the moment you know you are visiting London because they sell out tickets quickly. I could only get my ticket through a third party on getyourguide, which was 3x the price but included transportation to and from central London. I believe buying the ticket directly from the vendor will allow you flexibility to spend the whole day there as well since I had to rush the second half of the tour given I spent too much time on the first half. This is coming from someone who has never seen a single HP movie! I know! I know! I should be arrested (or at least exiled from the country) but went with a friend who is a big fan. And if I'm giving it 5 stars then you know it must have been pretty cool considering I don't even know what was what. This tour started with a walking tour around Westminster. Judd (our tour guide) was great! Really knowledgeable about the movie AND the city! 9 hours total (minus one hour break for lunch) starts off as walking tour, then transitions to the bus ride to the studio (about and hour ride depending on traffic) The studio was amazing! Super cool sets and special affects. Great gift shop!! Shout out to our awesome bus driver Llyod too!! read more
