What's really cool is that the stadium is left unlocked. Anyone 24/7 can walk in the Roman coliseum type structure and walk on the turf field. A bit disappointing that it was not a grass field, but oh well. There are some renovations going on over the Summer. To me it looks it's age. The scoreboard is modest. A bit of background. The Harvard Stadium turned 116 years old this year. It has the distinction of being the oldest permanent concrete structure in intercollegiate sports. For more than a century it stands proud as the "aristocrat of American sports amphitheaters". As one writer described it. Their first game was against Dartmouth in 1903. Get a photo op on the field and experience the history of Harvard Football. It's a darn cool place to say you have visited.

As a previous college runner this type of competition is what makes it fun . From new balance stores , to gyms and training facilities to neighboring coffee shops and restaurants this is a perfect set up for a huge event. My only complaint is the lack of seating and the small stadium seats for spectators. For the money spent on this facility they could've have ensured seating was a bit More accommodating. Tickets were required for each day, but it was worth it. The track itself is indoor, heated, and dry. There are enough seats for all and plenty of clean restrooms. There are food options inside and within walking distance. There are a few bus stops with about a 10 minute walk to the track.

I went to a sold out show earlier this summer, and the acoustics for the first opener were terrible. I was nervous the rest of the show would sound as 'blurry' and unprofessional, but they were able to adjust it halfway through her set thankfully. How awful for the artist, though, to be broadcast at such low quality audio at such an infamous location. The seats are not comfortable at all - and they want us to sit in them for extended periods of time!? I was seated in the stands under the covering, so luckily did not have direct sunlight on me during this scorching hot day, but there are also no fans or way for air to flow through the covered areas, so I was miserably hot. This place would make a killing if they sold personal fans or misters in the summer. The process of even getting in to a concert here is a little ridiculous - you have to get a whole separate app to access your concert ticket, instead of being able to use an email or add it to your Apple/Google wallet like you can at every other venue. Merch staff was incredibly rude, and have the audacity to ask for tips after yelling at you about your selections and being unhelpful as can be. Of course drink prices are inflated through the roof, but it almost felt illegal what they were charging for a bottle of water at an outside venue during a crazy heat wave. Worst of all were the bathrooms. They're clearly not checked or cleaned at ALL throughout the night, which is alarming considering the volume of people that flow through there. For a show that had a primarily female audience, no men's bathrooms were converted to women's, so the women's lines were out of control. You couldn't even move in the concourse in between sets anywhere near merch, the bathrooms, or concessions, which felt like an extreme fire hazard. The porta potties outside weren't even easy to get to - people were in multiple lines all the way across the exit, with no way to easily get back in the concourse when going the other way except to push through people. They actually had porta potty ATTENDANTS (what a concept), but they did help the line get moving once they were in place and on the ball. They were so helpful I actually tipped them in their tip jar strapped to a tree (lol) out of sheer gratitude for being the only people paying attention to making those huge lines move. At the end of the night I was able to get in line for the regular indoor bathrooms at last, since so many people left early to beat the herd, and there was trash, toilet paper, tampons, and other crud all over the floors and sinks. The water only operated at a scalding hot temperature, so you couldn't even splash cool water on your face to cool down, and it felt like my hands were burning. It was absolutely appalling! Toilet paper was running low, trash cans all over the venue were overflowing, it was nasty and I couldn't wait to get out of there. TD Garden is its own overcrowded nightmare, but I'd take a show there any day over overheating and using gross bathrooms and not being able to meet up with friends in the concourse because I couldn't even move through the crowds. Seems like a bunch of serious safety concerns that I hope are more under control than what I experienced for other events. Sad, because otherwise the event was absolutely incredible.

The sight lines for hockey a great anywhere in the building, and the crowd was energetic throughout the game. We saw a 2-1 Harvard victory over St. Lawrence on 2/16/24. The arena is very rudimentary in terms of accommodations, food options inside are pretty limited to popcorn and burgers/hot dogs so that wasn't too appealing. The lighting in the arena is quite nice, they were able to put on some pretty nice effects throughout the show. Parking is plentiful outside. Unfortunately because it's near other athletic centers in Allston, it can get crowded after games and traffic can always be an issue.

I'm not sure if this is…read morebecause the team was doing well this year, but the game was surprisingly sold out well in advance, which I thought was pretty impressive until I entered the gym and found it was about the same size as the one in my high school (~2000 capacity). Overall the atmosphere for a sold-out, in-conference Division I basketball game was pretty poor. The pep band was about the size of a normal jazz band and I couldn't ever hear the student section. The majority of the spectators were alum or people who were affiliated with the team and sadly the support felt very half-hearted. I understand that Harvard is not a basketball school but this is a team that at the time was still in contention to make the NCAA tourney and given the lackluster spirit of the fans, it seems like playing at home for them was not as advantageous compared to other arenas. Unfortunately there was also only one concession stand and based on the fact that only 2 people were staffed, I'm assuming that the games are usually not sold out. The line for food at our game was so long that one of my friends basically missed an entire quarter so he could get a popcorn and coke. One very good aspect of this place is that all the seats are very close to the court and only cost $12. It's great to watch D1 players play when you're only sitting 10 feet away from the court, as it's hard to appreciate how quick and athletic these guys really are when watching from far away or on tv. Overall a game at Harvard is obviously not going to be the same experience as one at a larger school, but has more of a high school atmosphere with a higher quality game.

Saw Boston College take on the University of Miami at Alumni Stadium on a brisk Friday evening…read more Despite long lines managed to grab a beer during halftime, but did not order any food. Quality I spent many Saturdays cheering for the Eagles football team during my college years and it was a blast coming back. For an exciting televised match-up, fans from both teams packed the stadium creating one of the best atmospheres I could remember at Alumni Stadium. However, even on days when the stadium is empty for a dud of a game, it still makes for a fun afternoon. The one caveat is always the weather, which can quickly ruin a good time. Quantity Alumni Stadium has a capacity of around 45,000, but you will hardly ever see it close to that packed. It does not compete with some of the mega stadiums around college football, but it ensures everyone has a good view of the action. Value Even for the bigger games, tickets are not too hard to come by and usually are reasonably priced. It usually is a matter of how well the opposing team travels. Beers and food are overpriced in the stadium, but that is to be expected. Ambiance Alumni Stadium sits on the Boston College Chestnut Hill campus right outside the city of Boston. It is strictly a college stadium and serves a smaller campus population, so does not compare to the mega stadiums for professional teams or many public universities. Its most recent renovations came in 1995, but the stadium has been maintained well and still feels relatively new. Massive screens on the ends make sure you can enjoy the game regardless of where you sit, but most seats keep you close to the field. Proximity of the field to the nearby reservoir does create a breeze, which on already cool days can feel even cooler. Just make sure to dress warm. Crowd The stadium is often empty for Saturday afternoon kickoffs, but for a big game under the lights the place was rocking. Unfortunately the stadium was not ready for the big crowd, and limited bathrooms and concession stands meant lines stretching around the stadium. However, the fans are some of the most laid-back and polite people you will meet at a college football game. Service While Alumni Stadium is a modern facility, it struggles with large crowds. Even with staff working fast and hard, lines quickly form near the concessions areas. The good things are they are adept at getting folks into the stadium quickly and despite the more crowded game, the bathrooms were kept in good shape. Parking The campus has limited parking on an average day, so during football games things get out of hand. Car service companies or public transportation are the better options to get to and from the stadium. Extra Even as a graduate of Boston College with many fond memories, I have no illusion that Alumni Stadium is a great place to see a game. However, it gets the job done and the friendly fans make it a fun atmosphere to enjoy some football.

Concession stands could be a bit better too. I got a puni lil hot dog for 4.50 so no need to stress how expensive that is. Also, they should separate the line for food and beer. Most ppl are ordering beer while you wait in a tremendously long line to get your expensive food. Guess it's to be expected since it's a stadium but at least dont give us the smallest hot dogs in the world. I get huge filling ones at Costco for 1.50 that's including a drink.
