You can pay to play as little as one game of bowling, or obviously more if you'd like. If you don't want to bowl, they have a billiards room, an arcade, and AR darts. Plus there's a food spot which you can dine in or bring to whatever game you're playing. Prices are pretty reasonable and they offer certain discounts for students and I believe seniors. It was pretty packed on a Sunday night but we were able to walk in and grab a lane. Food was also good, although a little pricey and took like as there was only one woman behind the counter and two in the kitchen. Despite the wait for the food and drinks, the staff were working hard and did a good job. It was fun seeing my boyfriends childhood spot, and nice to see families and friends gathering around to have some in-person fun again. We also got to catch a glimpse of a bowling league in action so that was pretty cool.

I avoid that now, but it's great for the kids... and now I am a senior citizen and I am back working on my bowling game both alone or with my friends. I had a great time on each occasion I've come over and I love the senior discount M - F 9 - 5 pm 40% off your games it's a nice benefit for us retirees as bowling these days can get expensive, but it's great to get out of the house during the week and get some exercise. (Bowling is a workout, whew!) They also have the pool hall of course and that includes some new features, they have a video dart game and they have a TV that has the news on it and of course the pool tables. A nice new addition is the new restaurant that offers food and drink that is absolutely delish! The pizza, wings & fries I've tried and I love but the burgers looked wonderful.. will try that next time. My only problem was that a game malfunctioned on us and I did have a hard time making the staff understand that we lost half of our first game on #21 (I'm saying the number in hopes that it will be fixed soon...) it went zonky on us and skipped ahead to our 2nd game.. but eventually they did get my drift and they moved us to a new alley and all was well. The tour was pretty good, but it was surprisingly light on both Longfellow and Washington. There was more emphasis on his descendants and their lives and the people who lived in the house first and their slaves, and that's fine and all, but that's really not what we came for. IF I didn't know anything about Longfellow, I wouldn't have learned more than the bare minimum that he was a poet. We came for the famous Longfellow's story. He wrote a famous poem on Paul Revere, making him an American legend. You know where they mention that? Paul Revere's house? You know where it didn't come up at all? Longfellow's house. The grounds are nice to stroll through. There's a temporary gallery from Longfellow's son and the many Asian art items he collected, so that was cool to look for. The gift shop was nonexistant. In its attempt to be more inclusive, it had almost nothing on Longfellow. You know where they have nice collections of Longfellow's house and souvenirs? Paul Revere's house. So the gift items exist, but not even at his house. It was so weird. Maybe NPS got bored staying on topic, but I've never been before, so it felt like I was missing out on the story I came for.

They provide many activites for its members: Art, Computer classes, Counseling, Knitting, Writing, Discussion groups, Dancing, Tai Chi, Yoga, etc. It also houses the COA: Council on Aging which provides nursing and social worker care. It has a few halls - you can rent them out for private functions, a library, facilities, etc. It's just a great place. Has it's own free giant parking lot, too. Just awesome.

What's really cool is that the stadium is left unlocked. Anyone 24/7 can walk in the Roman coliseum type structure and walk on the turf field. A bit disappointing that it was not a grass field, but oh well. There are some renovations going on over the Summer. To me it looks it's age. The scoreboard is modest. A bit of background. The Harvard Stadium turned 116 years old this year. It has the distinction of being the oldest permanent concrete structure in intercollegiate sports. For more than a century it stands proud as the "aristocrat of American sports amphitheaters". As one writer described it. Their first game was against Dartmouth in 1903. Get a photo op on the field and experience the history of Harvard Football. It's a darn cool place to say you have visited.

The one downside is that at the time we went, the music was so loud, it was almost impossible to hold a conversation in the arcade, so I hope they would reduce the volume a little bit for future patrons. Instead of adhering to the specific acceptance/denial notification date stated in the specifications, this gallery, without any communication whatsoever, drug their heels and sent out notifications many days later than originally stated, thus rendering my artworks in limbo and unavailable for consideration or exhibition elsewhere. Upon my pointing this out to them, to my horror, their response did not suggest any plan of rectifying the situation going forward. In fact, they recommended I "...not submit to further opportunities at Gallery 263..". Way to go "Gallery" 263! Shoo away those demanding accountability when you take their money, and proceed with business as usual. (documents regarding this matter available upon request)

Most of them have been members for years and years, but I joined just recently and they're incredibly welcoming and friendly. It's the ultimate neighborhood corner bar - almost all regulars, a pool table, some darts. It's not fancy, it's not loud, the game's on the TV. No food license but you can bring takeout. I'd take this over any place in Davis Square.
