My son went to Wasatch Academy for two years and graduated from high school there. He was recently accepted to UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) as an engineering student, and I'm very happy that he may go to his dream school and study what he really wants to. Wasatch Academy gave him great chances to grow as a person and as a student. The school has great facilities, kind and helpful instructors and staff, and strong programs in athletics, music, art, technology, and engineering. The only bad thing is that the area is very quiet because it's in a tiny town, but I think this is wonderful for students who want to focus on their studies. My son grew more confident, happier, and stronger during his two years at Wasatch. If you're thinking about sending your child to a boarding school, I would highly recommend Wasatch Academy. read more

It's such a bad school I would 100% not recommend sending your kid here. My kid said the school was mean to him because of his grades. He said that there was this thing called tigers club and that you could only get in it if you had good grades that is very excluding. That's basically saying he's dumb and no kid deserves to be treated that way read more

This boarding school is unique and incredible! The small classes and attentive, caring teachers provide students with the ability to learn in an environment which gives personal attention, yet at the same time gives enough personal space to allow children to become independent and ready for college once they leave. I was blessed to attend 4 years at Wasatch Academy, long ago; it was a life-saver. It, and Mt.Pleasant, have changed a lot, since the Presbyterian Board of Missions divested itself, mostly for the better [though some alumni lament the end of campus maintenance jobs for the students]! Small classes, supportive atmosphere, small classes and good teachers, promote creativity in all the arts, very good academia, as well as extra-curricular activities. Students from all over the world, bring a bit of the world; raise awareness of diverse world cultures, as well as what's happening outside the US. A good sense of creative and "good clean fun" humor is encouraged, which helps develop good coping and communication skills. Apparently, there still are a number of remarkable hijinks pulled! When I was there, one big trick was, that some of the guys dismantled and moved one teacher's VW bug car, indoors onto the stage, in time for chapel. Or the time some of the senior gals swiped the front door from Sage Dorm, then housing Jr's and Sr. boys...in the middle of winter cold and snow [good thing they had an inner door!]. Kids can learn how to be their best selves there. College Prep? Absolutely! It means the kids get actual, comprehensive, full education, Unlike what's offered at public schools, so they really can be ready to go to a University. I wish I could give this school 0 Stars. I'm so incredibly disappointed with this school. My child attended 2020-2021. I'm aware that covid has had a big affect on all of us and the way schools operate however this school uses covid as an excuse for everything. My child came home over winter break only 12 weeks after school started and had already lost 25 pounds. They were constantly complaining about how there were no vegetarian options. My child has always been a very positive kid but I noticed while attending their mood had dropped significantly. I talked to them about it and they mentioned that most kids at the school had attended treatment and it was difficult to keep a positive attitude when so many kids around where talking about suicide. The outdoor programs are difficult to get on. There are only a select amount of kids that are allowed to go on them. With closed campus my child hasn't been able to leave campus in 5 weeks due to not being able to make the rec lists. read more

I was sent to this school in 1985 . Half way through my freshman year we were taken off campus for what they told us was training. Actually it was posted to us as sat training. They had a senior student come running to the house yelling,"Gaddafi just dropped a nuclear bomb on Salt Lake City and we were all going to die . We all freaked out and were told to go down to the basement and put the mattress again the windows. People were freaken out! So we waited to die , or so we thought,until another senior came banging on the door asking to come in. The teacher asked us " should we let her in ? If we do we could all be contaminated? We all argued about it , but agreed to let her in . When she came in she told us it was just a hoax!!!! It was all bull shit!! It was a mind fuck !! What a terrible school The most terrible experience of my life , the people who run this school are evil...... Do not send your child there !! read more

This school has gone down the tubes in the last few years. It is full of Asian (mostly Chinese) students who never speak English and only associate with each other. When I visited the school, they were all sat at tables together in the lunchroom. The number of domestic students is dwindling. The new administration there is awful and most of the really good teachers have left. All they are interested in is your check book. I could not step foot there to visit my child without having someone pandering for money. This place looks good on paper, but beware before sending your child there. read more
