When the clean laundry didn't get delivered to my door by 5 as expected, I went down to the front desk to inquire and they said it hadn't been delivered, so I called Wash on the Rocks. They answered, called the driver, confirmed it had indeed been delivered (at 4:30!), then had the hotel bellman call me to confirm as well. I ran down to get that laundry so fast! I just really appreciated both the convenience and the immediate problem solving; it was the hotel's error, not theirs, but they really worked to get me those clean clothes. Through email was able to arrange 2 bags of laundry pick up from the Sheraton Hyde Park via the concierge desk that day. I stumbled across Wash on the Rocks which was literally less than a 5 minute walk from our hotel: Pier One. While hotels offer laundry service, a shirt or pair of pants typically run 8-12 dollars, and we really didn't want to spend that kind of money. Thanks to Wash on the Rocks, we didn't have to. A whole bag of laundry was around $20, and they even offer same day service for that price if you turn your clothes in by 10 am! It greatly pains me to write this review, as my previous 5 experiences with Wash on the Rocks were absolutely fine. And the last experiences were (4 of them) during the same time period on the same dates. I'm always in sydney around Xmas/NYE. Last night I emailed before bed a form requesting pickup today from my hotel. I stated on the form to please call to confirm receipt in the morning or email. Google Maps states that on 30-Dec Wash on the Rocks opens at 7 am. I called over 20 times between 7 am and the 930 am cutoff. There was no answering machine, no message saying "we're lazy and decide to not work on the 30th of December because holidays" no "welcome to wash on the rocks, F you"--nothing but a phone that rings and rings then defaults to a repeated beeping sound. I sent two more urgent emails to info@washontherocks.com.au. No response. I picked up my dirty laundry from the hotel concierge at 1030 am this morning. I'm now going to be heading out of town with exactly one clean shirt for the next 6 days thanks to Wash on the Rocks. I get it from visiting Australia 10+ times that Aussies don't work crazy hours like we do in New York. But you should consider providing a MODICUM of basic, decent, courteous service and turn on "auto respond" on your email or make a simple answering machine message saying "we're super lazy and decided to close on December 30th but think we probably should let our loyal customers know so they don't get left hanging to dry." I appreciate that the communication was easy -- it wasn't hard to reach them and they remembered all our specific requests for the different types of clothing we gave them. Wash On The Rocks followed through on every expectation that they set up, and they "came to the rescue" when we were running out of clean clothes. Important criteria for me is Reliable, Good service and reasonable price. It is definitely much cheaper compared to hotel laundry. There is only one issue, not their fault. I had a heck of a time finding the business, because Google maps and Apple maps both guided me to the road above their street -- they are at the bottom of a cliff. You need to study the routing with care. The Uber driver dropped me off at the wrong place, but he was using the same methods I was using; I then wandered around with lots of luggage, in addition to my dirty clothes (since I was flying out right after, then flying back -- hence the delivery). read more

Customer service is number one here!!!! I needed to wash my clothes before flying back to Dubai. No self service laundry spot? Nope not near my hotel---good luck with that! So there is an app for that! I yelped it and found this spot! Called them up and the manager took my clothes even after the deadline turn in time. He told me to be back in about two hours and my clothes would be ready. While on a multi-week trip (business trip for my husband), we had to have some clothes laundered and dry cleaned. The hotel we were staying at had outrageous prices for these services, so we decided to look elsewhere. Through Yelp, I saw this business was fairly close to our hotel and had an excellent website with very clear information about the services they provide and directions specifically for travelers. Plus, their prices were incredibly reasonable. The first time I used their service, I wanted to see the place so I personally dropped off our clothing. The people working there were super friendly and very efficient! I was quickly on my way, with a smile knowing I now had time to explore while the laundry was being done and delivered to the hotel in a few hours! The clothes were delivered to our room through the concierge. The laundered clothes were perfectly folded and the dry cleaned clothes were beautifully pressed and on hangars. Fresh clothes and no worries! In addition to this experience, a little over a month later my husband was headed back to Sydney on another extended business trip. He was having a rough trip due to a lost suitcase so he had a bunch of new clothing that needed cleaning. No coin laundry in the city. Sins I'm on a tour company (AAT king) and I'm doing actives and I need laundry done. I walked down and dropped them off and with in a couple of hours it was back at my hotel. Cloths; clean and nice folded. Even the bag I brought them in was given back! Cost: for a added cost they pick up and drop off. You can either each items or per bag. For the pick up they want at least 2 bags or more. And the cost for pick up and drop off is $7.00. Bag is $16.99 for wash and fold. Over all I would recommend them and use them again. read more

Family and I were in Sydney and needed to wash our clothes. I had never used a laundry service but washing in the sink was not getting the job done. I found this service on Yelp. My toddler and I took the morning to walk there from our hotel In CBD, so no comment on transit accessibility or parking. Great service and they did a wonderful job. For an extra $7 they deliver to your hotel so no need for a return trip. They also do pick ups. I opted not to do that on the first time out but next time I'm in Sydney and need laundry I definitely will! Only negative on the job, they lost one of my toddlers socks. But that is a rule of the universe, kids socks get lost in the wash. read more

Prices seem very good on the website, and reviews are favourable about quality, but be careful that "bagwash" is a loose term for this establishment. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I've had two pieces of clothing ruined here in only three visits. The first was a pair of pants that had been pressed at such a high heat they were scorched. The second was a brushed silk top that was, again, pressed at a high heat. The owner lied to me to say that they never press silk, but I pointed out the crease marks on the hem indicating that the shirt had clearly been pressed. Needless to say I'm not using their services and I cannot recommend them. Avoid if you have anything you care about! read more

I thought the prices were quite reasonable (I am from the States, so my view on pricing may be subjective to some). I needed to wash some wet gear after diving the Great Barrier Reef from a liveaboard, and this place was perfect. I arrived approximately at 6:13am, and it was just being unlocked, so you may not want to get there at 6am when they are supposed to open, or you may be disappointed. There is only one table in the middle for folding clothes, so it may get crowded if multiple people are there, but at that time of the morning I was the only person there washing clothes. I called Wash on the Rocks and was advised over the phone that it is a same day service (which is also stated on their website) I then booked in to have my items picked up the next day - you can imagine my surprise when i returned to my hotel in the evening and my clothes had not been returned to me. I was in Sydney for work and had to go to dinner with my clients in the same clothes they had seen me in all day. I called them the first thing the next day at 7.15am and was advised that the driver did not have time to drop them off but he was around the corner my clothes did not arrive until 8.10 the 'man' i spoke to on the phone was SUPER rude, yelled at me and kept saying it doesnt gurantee a same day service - I have since followed up by email to no response. I finally called again today and asked to speak tot he owner who just kept stating that their order form advises some services take longer - i explained that my booking was taken over the phone and that i was assured it was a same day service ! Not only that several items of my clothing came back covered in lint and long black hair (which i do not have ! ) I had to resend all my clothes to the hotels laundry as they came back almost worse than i had sent them off. read more

He lied to us to get business from our group of three couples, then double charged.
