We moved here from California last summer and had a very difficult time finding a space for our 3…read moreyear old son. He went to a church preschool/daycare at first because they were the only ones in town taking kids his age. I came into the church 3 times seeing 20 - 3 year olds with one student supervisor or teacher. I was not impressed and when asked about it the director said they were not required to follow the ratio laws for kids:adults in a room. I highly disagreed, so reluctantly we had to move our son out. We then used a really small childcare and the teacher was wonderful, but the 6 students were all different ages and our son was not enjoying playing with babies or older kids. My son cried every morning he had to go to school. It was a horrible nightmare for his dad and I. We had our oldest son in preschool in California for two years and it was always a constant battle with the directors. The teachers were constantly coming and going. So at this point our preschool experience hasn't been so great for both of our children. Finally!! Carey called and she had an opening. We moved our 3 year old son into her childcare in November 2018. We have never been so impressed. It is very clean. The teachers are amazing and my son has been moved into the 4 year old preschool class during this time. I have lowed all 4 of his teachers. When we come in we are greeted and when we leave there is always a goodbye. It is SIMPLE. I don't have to walk forever to get him to class, the parking is right in front of the door (helps a ton when you have other children in the car or in a carrier). My son loves to go to school and never had a hard time, even the very first day. After 3 months of him crying, this was a HUGE relief! Carey is wonderful, she has great teachers who have been there a while and or have bachelors to master's degrees in education. The tuition is standard and reasonable for a childcare of this size and cleanliness. There is no where else you will get care from 7am - 530pm with all their food included for $28.00 a day. Childcare is a hard bill to swallow for working parents, but $28.00 a day to know that you child is happy, fed, learning, and safe is WELL WORTH IT and way cheap. That's only $2.67 an hour! My child never comes home covered in food, crafts or has a gross face or nose. He is always very clean. This place is great and I would recommend getting on the waiting list as soon as you know you want to put your child in care or pregnant!

Trinity is one of the best natural health schools out there!…read more I personally have experienced their compassionate policy; I recently was about to drop out due to a lack of energy and serious health isssues, but when I reached out, they worked with me, and allowed me time to heal, and pick up where I left off later. Wow. This kind of personal care is rare, thank you Trinity. As far a the program, its very affordable (I paid out of pocket with no debt), and extremely valuable. Its crazy, but all you need for entry is proof that you graduated high-school, and your in; You could go from knowing nothing about natural health, to becoming a practitioner in a matter of months, the value is unbelievable, and you come out with a certificate. Within two weeks, I called them to try to cancel and I was told they would get back to me. They never got back to me. They did not allow me to cancel. They did not give me a refund, even though they had a 90 day cancellation and refund policy. I was young, 21 years old, and sick, and just not able to stay on top of this at the time. I have mostly let it go over the years, but occasionally have tried to reach out again and have only gotten the same conclusion each time, they have "no records that I called to ask to cancel", and they are offering to transfer my money to their new programs, which would leave me still owing over $5000 to attend their "school". Not an ethical business, especially for a business that is supposed to be founded on Christian principles. It's been extremely frustrating and disappointing the way that this institution has done me.

Manchester University is a private liberal arts university with a main campus in North Manchester,…read moreIndiana and a smaller location in Fort Wayne. The university is considered a Church of the Brethren university. Church of the Brethren is a historic peace church of the Anabaptist tradition (often mentioned alongside Friends (Quakers) and Mennonites). As a licensed Church of the Brethren minister for several years, I've had multiple opportunities to visit Manchester and to speak at a nearby Church of the Brethren retirement community. While a relatively small denomination, Church of the Brethren has a decent sized following in this part of the state and has a district office in this area. Manchester University traces its roots back to 1860 as the Roanoke Classical Seminary founded by the United Brethren Church. It became North Manchester College in 1889 when it moved to the area and in 1895 the campus was purchased by Church of the Brethren. In 1923, it began its transition toward being a liberal arts college. Church of the Brethren had also purchased Mount Morris College in Illinois - in 1932, the two colleges merged. In 1948, Manchester started the first undergraduate Peace Studies program in the world. In 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at the school. In July 2012, Manchester College became Manchester University, and in August 2012, enrolled its first doctoral class in pharmacy at a second campus in Fort Wayne, Ind. In May 2016, Manchester University launched the nation's first dedicated master's degree in pharmacogenomics. The school continues to be associated with Church of the Brethren. This area of the state is quite beautiful and this campus is quite lovely. Manchester has about 1,300 students and about 72% live on campus. Students come from 21 states and 9 countries - Church of the Brethren has other colleges, though Manchester is probably the best known outside of the denomination. They offer 70 areas of undergrad, grad, and professional studies and are an NCAA Division III school. The school is often considered one of the best private liberal arts colleges in Indiana and beyond. 100% of incoming students get financial aid. The campus itself is relatively small but has the usual variety of dining options, intriguing art work, an incredible peace garden and more. While the school is very open and committed to ADA, there are accessibility issues around campus given the obvious age of parts of the campus. I often do a little research before writing a review and couldn't find a single mention of a disability office or how to request accommodation. When I've been on campus, I've felt very welcome - but, I haven't been on campus as a disabled student. Even when I look at student organizations, I see groups for Asian Awareness, African, Black Student Union, Hispanic students, international students, and LGBTQIA, but nothing for disabled students. Thus, as much as I love Manchester University I can't quite go a 5-star (this was a common issue for me during my time with Church of the Brethren - there was often a feeling of being more accessible than they really were, though certainly hospitality is very important within the denomination). However, if you're in this part of the state I definitely recommend checking it out. If you're looking for a small academic setting with a great record in terms of sports, academics, and the arts, Manchester has a lot to offer. While only 6% of students are Church of the Brethren, CoB remains very loyal to the school and there's a strong familial tradition with the school.
