This place is great. Super hip, with dedicated chairs for walk-ins. Just write your name on the board when you walk in, or call ahead to get your name on the board and then come on in and sit. The whole process moves very fast and you get a great cut at the end of it. Of course you can schedule an appointment, but the walk in feature is super convenient when you're like me and forget to get your hair cut until you need to go somewhere (e.g. a family event where your mom will not so subtly wish that you had a haircut). All super professional barbers that will follow your direction (or will tell you what they think is best if you ask). An added bonus is that they cut kids' hair if you have children this is a huge bonus. Great place all in all. Additionally, the location is fantastic in Wash Park. read more

I had Josh Leonard. Very nice guy, quick, did great with my hair. This was my first time getting a beard trim as well and I am trying to grow out my beard. I go in for a clean up, which turned into half of my beard being gone, while leaving a long goatee. I thought I'd let it grow out a bit, and it wasn't a super big deal. But when I get home and lived with the beard a little longer, I saw a full clippers width of hair missing on the underside of my neck and how uneven and thin everything looked. I ended up shaving it as it really didn't not look great. And that was months of growth I had worked on. read more

Great group of guys in the shop. Laid back with an option of having a beer while waiting or getting your cut. Saturday walk in is pretty busy so plan on a wait but they will get you in if you arrive before closing and don't forget to sign the walk-in board. The barbers are extremely nice, the shop is badass and the prices are great. To top it off, these guys have a pretty good selection of grooming items at great prices. Barber thought cutting 8 inches off instead of 1 inch as requested was a good idea.... It had been a few months since I had had a haircut and so I needed a trim. I had heard good things about this barbershop so I figured I would give it a shot. I went in and sat down and told the barber that I needed a small trim to clean it up...maybe an inch 2 at the most. And then he turned me around so I could no longer see the mirror and that was the last I saw of my hair. 20 min later the barber says "so I took a lot off" as he spun me back around. I said "oh" the paid and left, still in shock of what had just happened. I have been thinking all day of a way to justify this guy, to give him a break. But I cannot. There was never a question of "do you want me to take more off" or a "this might be shorter than what you asked for" or maybe even only cutting like 4 inches. All I got was "I think it looks good and I hope that's what you were looking for." If we excuse the fact that he cut an extra 7 inches off let's actually look at the hair cut I got. It is quite bad. One side is noticeably longer than the other. My friends tell me that it is a euro cut but if that's the case than it literally means he ignored everything I asked him to do. All this to say don't go here. Literally anything is a better option. A child could have done a better job. read more

I used to go to Tim back when he was at his old shop. Heard about his new place when I asked someone where to go for a good beard trim. Cut to the chase (pun intended)....this place is the best. Tim did a great job on my beard....in fact he spent more time making sure my beard looked its best than other barbers spent on my entire haircut! Great laid back guy atmosphere. (don't like the outside fool you and don't blink driving by or you might miss it). And to end I just want to say how easy / great is it to use the Booksy app to make an appt (only Tim). Initially I had made an appointment for 8/20/16 at 9:15. Granted I got there 15 minutes late so I own that one. Anyways when I got there the barber I got scheduled with passed me on to the barber with the empty chair. I obviously missed that clue! Rule number 14 in barber shop shopping says to avoid the guy with an empty chair. Well I sat on Alex's chair and asked him for a pompadour with a fade and a beard trim. When he was done I did not get a fade nor a pomp and the beard trim was not finished with the razor work. Well I guess in a sense I got the tricked into getting the most inexperienced barber of the shop and my hair paid the consequences. BTW I've been trying to get a hold of them via IG to schedule an appointment to get it fixed but no one has responded. Driving from Greensboro for this shop was a waste of time and money. Tip: avoid sitting in Alex's chair. I gave them two stars because the shop has a great ambience. 08/27/16 update: Tim the owner of the shop contacted me to address the issue I had. He gave me an appointment to fix my haircut. I was very satisfied to say the least. He made me feel very comfortable and took care of my needs. Tim just got a new client and a new fan of this gem of a barber shop. The best businesses pay attention to their clients and make them feel comfortable. read more

One of my best friends/coworkers told me about this barbershop and I told my fiance about it. He's been going for months and loves it-Tim cuts his hair and he does a great job. I decided a week ago that I wanted to get an undercut at the nape of my neck and felt like a barber would do a way better job than my normal stylist. Jeremy listened to my ideas, looked at my pictures, and completely slayed it. He gave me an amazing, original cut that I'm absolutely in love with.
