There are drainage problems that cause a significant portion of the wooded area to be flooded for several months of the year. This area is just inside the wooded area, so it's easily accessible from both the wooded and grassy areas. When it's flooded, the dogs get wet and stinky. Oftentimes it's not flooded so much as it is a big mud puddle - irresistible to many dogs! Only go to the park when you have time for a bath afterwards - for both you and your dog! The rules are a bit ridiculous and are strictly enforced. For example, I got told off by a Board member because my teenager was throwing the ball for our two dogs. The rules state that children must be within arm's reach (under 12 not permitted, se we're talking 12-18-year-olds) and must not have their arms above their head. These are the relevant rules from the website: - Must be 18 years of age or older and remain within the park, with their dog(s), at all times. - Must closely supervise children under 18 years of age; and must be within reach of the child at all times. They are responsible for the actions and safety of children in their care. Children must not be permitted to run, shout, scream wave their arms and/or otherwise excite and/or antagonize dogs in the park. - Children under 12 years of age are not permitted inside the dog park. (Effective January 1, 2020) If your dog doesn't want to leave, you can't simply leash him to walk him out of the park. If you leash him BEFORE you get him into the gated "holding area" near the front gate, you will be reprimanded. Unfortunately, this is a "members only" club and you don't find any of this out for yourself until you spend $125 for your membership. Not worth the fee! Go to one of the free dog parks in the area, or wait a decade or two until this park gets in a new Board of Directors that votes to implement and enforce more reasonable rules and spend the park's money on things such as fixing drainage issues instead of planting "better" grass - which then requires regular chemical treatments.

This trail partially follows lake Massabesic until it veers off into the woods and you can no longer see the water. It's not as scenic, but well maintained and easy to follow with some side paths too. This trail seems to be fairly heavily trafficked by all walks of life. It is totally flat and not challenging whatsoever. Just a nice stroll to go on if that's your thing. It is dog friendly and has porta potties for the rest of us. The park area is a fair size. Wish we could swim in it, but that's not the case. Many signs say not to. Guess we will have to all admire it from afar. Plenty of free parking here also and a boat launch if you can find it (different address than listed here).

My daughter loves coming to this park because it's well kept, you can ride scooters and bicycles that have been donated to the park and you just leave it there once you're done using it. The also have a track around the park for runners and people who want to walk with a view. Besides the playgrounds, there are also baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts and everything is in immaculate condition. I don't see any cons at all for this park and like I said it's the best one I've see so far in New Hampshire. If you and your kids are looking for a new park, be sure to give this one a try. It has it all, trust me!

The 2 main play areas are on astro turf, so no worries about bugs. One play area is more accommodating for little ones (ages 2-5+) and another which little ones can use, but also has more challenging climbing structures, bendy slides, etc. There are 2 sets of swings, one at each end of the park. It was clean and several people brought picnic blankets and set up on the ground to watch their kids play. Nice park and when I was there, respectful, playful kids.

Don't let the others reviews whining about dog poop deter you. The only litter I saw was near the…read moreentrance of the trail (ironically where the only trash bin I saw was since people are lazy). I swear, too many people use Yelp just to complain. I appreciate how well-marked the trails are here. There are many signs and color markings on trees to tell you what trail you're on and the intersections with other trails. The trails aren't too steep but there are a lot of tree roots so be sure to watch your step. There are nice views of Lake Cochichewet along the trails and at least one bench nearby so you can relax and enjoy the view. I did see one off-leash dog so I can see how that would be annoying. Thankfully the dog was friendly and all the other dogs I saw were leashed. I brought my dog on a leash and he enjoyed the walk. Parking lot is a little small but it's free. I plan to come here with my dog again and explore the other trails.
