After sitting at my computer for hours today, it was nice to go for a walk. Mine Falls Park totals at 325 acres, which is about a third the size of New York's Central Park https://www.yelp.com/biz/central-park-new-york-8 The park has multiple entrances and street parking. I landed at the end of Whipple Street where there was a cul-de-sac that I felt okay leaving the van. And then I walked for half an hour or so, mostly randomly. The park is in quite good condition with a little bit of litter here from some people who should be flogged. Bridge, river, lots of greenery. We came from Montreal, Canada and stayed a couple days in the Nashua area for shopping and vacationing - Mine Falls Park was on my list for a morning hike. We came in through the Lincoln Park entrance and there was plenty of parking when we arrived after 7AM on a Wednesday. This was a very easy spot to get to and close to a Hannaford supermarket nearby. Being new to the area, we weren't familiar with the trails or area at all but followed the map we found online and also used Google maps to guide us through. If this is your first time, I wouldn't recommend walking blindly through the paths as they can go on for quite a while and you may get lost. It was great to enjoy some nice scenery and fresher air - despite being close to the city and highways - some areas of the park were suprinsingly quiet. We even got to a spot a deer who was just doing its thing, not afraid of passerbys. I wish I lived closer as I would love to come back and explore different paths. Perfect relaxing getaway when you just want a walk or see something else than pavement for a change. read more

Mine Falls Park is one of my favorite things about Nashua, NH. Best way to escape the bustling city and get back in touch with nature. Mine Falls features several woodsy hiking trails, sometimes partially paved, that loop you around the entire park. You can stick to the beaten paths or explore the deep woods along scenic trails to picturesque waterfronts. Definitely worth visiting during peak foliage season, as it encompasses everything a crisp New England autumn day should be! Centrally located with multiple entrances offering free parking and bike access. During weekends with cooperative weather, parking is tricky at the Lincoln Park entrance. The mill buildings by downtown are pretty vacant then. read more

Absolutely phenomenal! What a beautiful place to walk and ride your bike. I left MA early to drive to This NH park because I read the parking can get tough. I arrived at about 8;30 am and there weren't too many cars. Hopped on my bike and started peddling. Lots of people walking their dogs too. The paths are pretty wide. The foliage was breathtaking! If I lived closer I would be here all the time but it will definitely be one of my go to places especially during the fall. . read more

This place is just STUPID pretty! Being from the south, I am used to trails with short trees and a lot of shrubs and grass. This one makes you feel lost in a forest with the towering pine trees above you, the green plants and river that runs beside the mail trail. The trails are wide and friendly for runners, walkers, bikers, leashed pets and kids. I could've spent the whole day exploring all of the different paths that break off from the main trail. Most of the main trail is shaded with spots of sun. There are some areas that look like they would be great for mountain biking. There is an area that goes under the highway that is noisy, but I still found it to be more quiet than the highways down south, so that didn't bother me. Do note- no restrooms anywhere, on the trails or at the trailhead that starts by the YMCA. read more

I got to know Mine Falls Park pretty intimately on a Tuesday morning in May 2019. The scenery was breathtaking like you wouldn't believe you were in a city park, but I guess city parks are actual trails? You never know what you'll find out there these days. Case in point: Mine Falls Park here in Nashua New Hampshire. My experience here at this city park began at 6 AM on May 14, 2019. I actually gotten lost on the morning of, driving to another section of the park from the hotel. After getting everything straightened out, I got there with a moment to spare. My experience here at Mine Falls Park started at 6am and ended around 10am when I did about 2 1/2 ish loops of the park's trail system. A bunch of my other friends did about 5 1/2 ish loops. You wouldn't think this is really a park though, since it has plenty of trees and you feel like you're in some wild area that was still yet to be developed. With just a gravel trail and just nature greeting you at each step, you can see why Mine Falls Park is one of the best kept secrets here in Nashua, NH. The park itself is quite magical and definitely a nice place to spend time here, if you are in the area. I did enjoy running through the Nashua River, which was calm and soothing. The cool weather of the morning really helped me get those miles and have a wonderful experience doing my 13.1 mile half marathon in New Hampshire. It's a place where you'd want to take your family here for an adventure seeking, cost free time in Nashua. The overall experience here at Mine Falls Park is quite aromatic, clean, scenic, and definitely a hidden gem for anyone and everyone who enjoys nature and the great outdoors. One full loop of the park's trails sums up to be around 5 miles. Mine Falls park is located in beautiful downtown Nashua, where the entrance I used is on Stadium Drive with generous amounts of parking. The entrance is right next door to the YMCA of Greater Nashua. Since this is a park, there is no admission fees to enter. Yes! Parks are a great way to spend the day without having to spend money. While there aren't many benches to sit and admire the view of the Nashua River, taking a leisurely stroll through the trail system does take a lot of stress off the mind. The trails itself are fairly wide enough for many people to use, cyclists, walkers, and runners to enjoy. As well as families and pets to use the trails for their own personal enrichment of life, mind, body, and spirit. As mentioned before, there is a generous parking option for y'all who are driving here. If not, I'm not sure how public transportation works in Nashua, but there's always Uber or Lyft, if possible. The trails are kept in pristine condition, so do your part to keep it as such. For the most part though, the Mine Falls Park is definitely a show piece for anyone and everyone who comes to visit Nashua, New Hampshire. Best bet is to get a map of the park beforehand, so you know how to get around and not get too lost. The main loop of the park follows the Nashua River. During the time I was there, during a Tuesday morning, it was quite awkward to be here when the rest of the world is working. I guess doing 13.1 or 26.2 during the week is somewhat special. It was enjoyable though, especially when we had free reign with the park, without much interruptions from the public. Most of the trail is covered by trees, so the sun won't be too much for one person on any given day. Best bet would be to arrive here early enough so that you can enjoy it in the morning in cooler temperatures, regardless of time of year - unless it's winter time. If you are in the area and want to do something relaxing and free of money, consider coming to Mine Falls Park and relax amongst the trees. You'll be glad you did. I definitely recommend it! Mine Falls is a hidden treasure in downtown Nashua. It's tucked behind a high school stadium, so unless you're looking, you probably won't find it. It's heavily forested, plus one can see where the former quarries stood. The Nashua River flows thru the waterfall of sorts. For a city park, it doesn't have the usual amenities like drinking fountains&bathrooms. I didn't see picnic areas, and there is an ongoing graffiti problem. Still, it has prominent, user-friendly maps. The park itself is a gem. One can see turtles, fish, you name it. For a trail that starts behind the high school bleachers, this is excellent. read more

This is a stellar 325 acre park in the heart of the city. I particularly like it for running. I have a loop that is about 2.8 miles I like to trace and can make it much longer by taking other trails/loops. What makes it so nice? It's scenic with lots of trees so you're not totally exposed in the sun while running/walking/riding a bike. There's water -- the Nashua River, canal, and Millpond. I've seen swans, ducks, turtles, a blue heron, and muskrats (I think). The entrance I use is at Simon and Whipple off the Everett Turnpike exit 5A. The loop I run is towards downtown and back. It actually hooks up to the old millyard area and is then a convenient jaunt to Main Street if you're so inclined. What's extra nice is that I feel safe in this park during daylight hours. There are most always people present and I have witnessed police patrol the park. Just one thing --- if you're walking in the park, could you remember to share the path, stay to the right, and allow runners to pass on your left? Many, Many thanks. read more

This park is gorgeous and there's many different paths to go on. Most of the paths are along the water and you can easily walk down the hill (sometimes there are steps) if you want to get closer. It is beautiful around sunrise or sunset when the sun beams through the trees and glistens. It usually fairly quiet with others walking by occasionally (depends on the day). read more

Great for walking, light hiking, jogging, leaf peeping, bicycling, or showing your kids the local wildlife. Some nice spots for kayaking as well. In 1992, the park trails were designated part of the New Hampshire Heritage Trail system, which extends 130 miles along the Merrimack River from Massachusetts to Canada. read more

This is a beautiful 325 acre park , exit 6 off Route 3. It's located at the end of Coliseum Ave (just past Hannaford's) and has a large parking lot. The park doesn't have bbq pits or picnic tables. It's for walking, hiking and cycling. The main path is paved, making it great for strollers or bikes. There are many other unpaved, wide trails. It's mostly level and it's partly shady due to all the trees. There are a few nice foot bridges that go over the water ways. The paths wind around and over the Nashua River and its offshoots. They go past Nashua High School South, under Route 3 and lead all the way to the Simon Road area of Nashua. Dogs are allowed, just clean up after them. read more

I can not wait to go back! I have lived in Nashua for a number of years and had no idea this park even existed. I found on a map (via yelp) that the park appeared to be down the street from my house. However, the Yelp Map shown actually has incorrect coordinates. If you have never been here, and wish to visit this park, you should look up the directions from a GPS. My husband, my daughter, and myself went to this park today. It was just before dusk. There were kids, walkers, joggers, bicyclists, babies in strollers, and dogs on leashes. Everyone was happy and welcoming to one another. There were kids of all ages playing soccer in the fields and enjoying themselves immensely. The baseball field was fully available for use. Most wonderful though, was how clean the fields were! There were no visible people who worked / keep up on the park there that we saw, but the fields were remarkably clean and the grass was well trimmed. Trails were mostly free of debris other than mulch that has been pushed along the trails here and there (from kids running, animals, nature, bicyclists, etc) Trails were all clear of anything hazardous such as branches or anything that could cause harm. There was at least one bathroom I noticed at the entrance. There are many places to sit (I.E. benches and picnic tables) Through out the park. Every place to rest is very well kept with fresh Mulch and wood. We had to cut our visit shorter than I would have liked due to the sunset and the mosquitos making their way onto us. My family and myself cannot wait to go back so we can explore this park some more! Still so much for us to see! I would suggest bringing bug spray, and even though there are many trees for shade, bring sun screen. Also, always check for ticks before you depart! We will be returning very soon! We plan on getting there earlier next time so we can enjoy more of the park! read more

WHAT A COOL SPOT! We went on a beautiful Saturday. The trails are great, and it wasn't crowded. Parking was free, and we walked a few miles with our dog. My only complaint would be that the trails aren't marked very well, and maps are few and far between. Regardless, you can't get too far off track no matter which way you go. We saw some great birds, a ground hog, a beaver dam, a pair of swans, and lots more. All in one walk! I'll be visiting this place every weekend now. It's that great. read more

Mine Falls Park is a beautiful park near Downtown Nashua. There are around six miles of paved and packed dirt trails that make for a great place to walk or run. There are many entrances and parking areas to get the park which make it very accessible. You can easily get to the park with a short walk from downtown. Many of the trails run along the river or around the pond which makes for a lovely run and there are also trails that run through the trees making you feel very far from the forest despite being so close to the bustle of the city. The trails are used by the local cross country teams and offer a lovely easy trail run. I recommend running or walking to the waterfall/dam for a nice picnic area. read more

I've been jogging the Mine Falls park trails regularly for several years. The main paths (green loop and blue loop) are wide and have minimal rocks or roots. Head into the woods on the secondary or unmarked trails and you'll find narrow and rougher terrain. Some areas can get muddy in rainy weather but you can generally skirt around it. Winter running is a gamble as the trail surface can be either nicely packed snow from people walking or very slippery ice. The green loop is probably the most popular and well travelled. The southern portion of the blue loop (from the Rt 3 underpass down around the cove) is nice, but the northern section is narrow, isolated and difficult to navigate if you don't know the trail layout well. The trails are well maintained, litter is kept to a minimum and dog owners must be doing a good job picking up as I rarely to never see droppings. I do wish walkers would pay more attention, they can be oblivious to their surroundings and clog the path in groups. There are a lot of runners and bike riders, so it would be nice if everyone would follow the rules of the road. Trail Map: Search google for "mine falls park map". One of the first results should be from the city of Nashua. It shows the loop color and numbering system that lines up with the little metal signs on the trees. There are also large maps at the entrances but I'm not sure they show the same detail. read more

Let's call it what it is, a bunch of land by the river and swamps that is unsuited for development so it's a park instead. The people you will find here are walkers and bikers who think it's so great because there's nothing else around where you can do those things. It's incredibly crowded all the time, full of homeless and drug addicts getting their fix and littered with trash and dog waste, all while listening to the drone of the highway. There is little here in terms of wildlife and it's far too urbanized for a true nature lover to gain anything from it. Benson's Park is a short ride away and so much better than here. read more

Mine Falls is an excellent place to go for a nice long run. The trails are rarely crowded and there are enough of them to keep your runs fun and interesting. You may choose to stay of the paved trails or you can loop off and stay on the natural trails. Either way it's a great place to zone out for an hour or two and get some great cardio in. read more

Nashua's best kept secret? :) I can only imagine how nice this park is during the springtime. But even in the winter, it's still very picturesque and very much worth the trip. Plus, less people in the winter. There aren't any public bathrooms closeby, and not all the trails are plowed from the snow, so plan accordingly. However.. the snow here is the fluffiest I've ever encountered!!:) Also, dont rely on google maps to get you here. Get a map (or just take a closer look at google maps zoomed in) take local roads, and keep a watch out for the street signs. read more

For the heart of Nashua, this is a great place for walking, running, biking...even fishing and viewing wildlife in general. The swans that nest in the swamp are always a hit, the deer in the field, turtles, fish, etc. This place really is great and I'm always surprised at how little use it actually gets from the younger people. My son loves coming out here with me either to throw rocks in the water (at 4, how awesome is throwing rocks in the water?) or catch fish. read more
