In 2014, a company in Alberta, called Sep Tech Solutions Canada along with sludge hammer Canada,…read moreboth companies are owned and operated by the same people, Installed a new private septic system on my property, they are put a secondary wastewater treatment in my septic tank, the sludge hammer I have had this system since 2014and part of this system is you have to change out a bacteria pouch once a year, I have done this on my own because they had a do it yourself program, I have the paperwork, Two years ago I called Sep Tech Solutions for this bacteria package like in past years, They told me over the phone that there was a new legislation that I can no longer change said bacteria pouch, I let them come out because we were having some problems, they said it was a water treatment system that was causing the problems I asked if it was ok when you installed my system why now, I went to my local county to ask if needed to permit to fix this water treatment system from backflushing into my tank, that's when I found out no permit- no inspections , according the county, we are number two that they have done this too. We had to get a lawyer to get them to fix things and get a permit, turns out my tank was leaking, I asked for receipts for the materials that they used to build the mound they wont give them to me, I asked them what they did with the old tank, they charged me for removal , wont tell me, in the end Sep Tech Solutions requested that I sign a non disclosure agreement for ten years free bacteria and service, I said no, they did some bads things to my mound, the county made them insert two new observation ports, they monitor how the water goes through the mound, they did not put them in to code and they know it, these pipes are now full of water and wont drain, I think they killed my mound, but not sure yet we are waiting for inspections, so anyway back to the bacteria pack, they wont sell it to me, according to them , I have to use this bacteria from them for the wastewater treatment, or my Lifetime warranty is null and void. I never received any information about said legislation, nor did I get any notice about them canceling the DIY program, I think they hoped they would get past the ten year mark so I could not sue them, So now that I need the bacteria pouch I have to give them 400.00 dollars to get it. I tried other companies that sell this wastewater treatment system they told they cannot because of the deal they have with sludge hammer Canada, like I said sludge hammer Canada is owned by Sep tech solutions Canada, I did a registry search. I have gotten municipal affairs involved and they can find no legislation and if there is one, they have to show me this. I believe this company is purposely trying to get the warranty to go null and void because they refuse to sell me a little bag of bacteria or I give them 400.00 a year. I phone the manufacture of this product in the states, told them what happened they said they would investigate it and they didn't have much to do with the Canadian distributor, Sludge hammer Canada/ Sep Tech Solutions Canada. I never heard back from them. I have seen a few reviews that people are having the same problem, forced into paying them 400 a year or lose their warranties. Now I am looking at taking a system out that works very well, I have done my maintenance and bacteria pouch every year that I have owned it, my husband is a plumber , and paid sep tech for these item every year, two years ago after the permit thing the system was pulled out to fix the tank and according to sep tech solutions it was in full working order , no problems, and be out 13000.00 all because they did work with out a permit and I caught them, this company is willing to let my system fail, they did bad things and are mad because they got caught, and this all over a small bag of bacteria, sad, bad company, bad men my only recourse now is to start getting in touch with government agencies and I will.
