I am using this range to develop my sons shooting skills and their ability to fight together. I am also using this range to build my son's muzzle awareness as well as their ability to safely operate firearms. When I'm ready for shot guns I would def would use this space. We used this space for our summer adventure this year. We got out there early Friday morning, ate our breakfast as we set up our claimed range, shot all our firearms for about 7hrs, and then closed up the range. After that we claimed our space for camping and rented the grill from Aron. He let us keep the propane tank afterwards. We ate our supper watched an episode of "Maul" and packed all of ourselves into one tent with the dog. The next morning we claimed our range again, did our warm up drills, practiced "out! Cover! In!", malfunctions with a pistol, packed up and headed home to lakewood for brunch. At the end of it, it was $25 for camping, $15 grill rental, $7 for the propane, costing about $52 and a life time of memories. Bring bug spray, the biting flies and red ants are a menace!

Not only do the fine folks at LV focus on safety but their family friendly environment was created to accommodate shooters of all levels. The trap area is laid out like a semicircle so that all shots fall into a spot to make recovery a lot easier. LV is also very member centric, offering sporting clay events, bowling pin league and holding an annual member appreciation picnic filled with demos and competitions (soda can challenge was fun!). Without question I will continue to renew my membership, despite the distance (Deer Trail is a bit of a drive but has great range access).

I was then told that the refund would be processed as soon as I took down my review. I refuse to be manipulated like this though so instead of getting $150 back I'm updating my review so hopefully others won't have the same horrible experience I did. Of course in part…read morefrom the rush of flying at an elevation of 6000 feet in a one engine, four seater Cessna, but also with the instruction and professionalism provided by Alliance. When I reached the vicinity of the Front Range Airport, I easily found Alliance on the right. I was greeted by two instructors. My instructor who turned out to be the owner's father was very friendly and easy going. That was helpful in easing my nerves some before the flight. We briefly discussed some of the details around the lesson and then went out to the hangar to check out the plane I was to fly. Now that I am writing this so late, I forgot my instructors name! Anyway, he walked me around the plane and described it a bit and gave me a general overview of aviation and how a small plane maneuvers. Next he asked me to get in the plane so he can get my seat adjusted and show me the controls. He named all of the controls and explained what they are for. After all of this, he pulled the plane out of the hangar so that we could get ready for our flight. I actually got to fly the plane! My instructor told me what buttons to push and directed me on maneuvering the plane each step of the way. He was such a good instructor, I was able to control the plane from start to finish with the exception of the landing. He allowed me to line the plane up to the landing strip and he took over until the plane was settled on the runway. My total flight time was one hour and this hour was counted as instruction toward my flight lessons to get my license. After we landed, we walked to the terminal to purchase my pilot log where he notated my first hour instruction. There were other pilots sitting in the terminal cafe chatting over coffee or lunch. It had a feeling of an exclusive club of pilots. The whole experience was exhilarating and so informative. I was on a high for a few days after! My instructor again was very down-to-earth and easy to work with. He, btw, was a pilot for Continental his entire career therefore, very knowledgeable. I recommend this flight school if you are looking to become a pilot or just want to take an hour flight for fun.

The other person use hot tools on my hair and burned my hair!!!!! My hair was a natural silver gray and is now a yellow brown color!!!!! The hair style I left with was an attempt to cover their errors!!!! The instructor was more concerned about the weather than my hair cut. The students were afraid to cut hair. The instructor is not an instructor, she took over the hair cut process and did not teach, instead the instructor took over and ruined my hair. These people decide to lie or exaggerate their experiences because their absurdly delicate ego got hurt. Here is the truth. Front Range has very helpful, very friendly, and very professional staff. Their planes are older. However, they are in incredible shape despite their age. I find no more discrepancies in front range airplanes than brand new airplanes from other places such as other FBO's and Civil Air Patrol. If you are looking for a flight school with well maintained airplanes, professional staff, and an environment conducive to learning the skills needed to be a safe and proficient pilot, I'd highly recommend Front Range Flight School!
