This school seems to be a hit or miss situation. I've had neighbors who report mixed experiences,…read moremostly the complaints are service / attitude related with about half of them My experience was a miss. Service was to be high and low lights, mostly at the back of head . The student and teacher decided that they would only do highlights, which I caught part of the way into the service. (She kept my chair turned away from her rolling tray so I could not see the single bowl - should have been two colors). During the service, the student stated that she hated working with chemicals and hair, but needed to finish this section in order to graduate. Her focus was on skin; she intended to be an esthetician. My harshest criticism is directed at the male teacher. His demeanor was imperious and haughty. He was not available and non-responsive for checks as the chemical processed. At one point I had to get up to find both the student and teacher to ask for the chemical to be removed as I sensed it was over processing. I waited another ten minutes and decided to rinse this stuff out myself. They were taking a break as I walked by to the rinse room and the student followed me in to help. I was charged for the conditioners and other products they needed to put in my hair to repair the damage. I've put three family members though beauty colleges and been a color model at hair shows. I like to support the colleges and help student with the learning process. They were no able to take a cash payment, nor would they accept a check, which was not disclosed on their website. The check out student stated that personal checks signaled fraud. (I'm no thief or fraudster!) I did leave a $50 tip to the student with the check out student with the admonishment: "Please let her know to follow her heart in skincare and stay far away from hair services." A fish rots from the head IMO. This student had developed an attitude that was not customer centric, likely due to the influences of the teachers and management developing a toxic customer experience. She knew my hair was severely damaged but did not acknowledge or apologize. If she fails when she is on her own, it will be up to her to readjust the bad attitudes this school taught her. How could I hold her responsible for the bad acts of her teacher / influencers? The culture and experience at Aveda Institute is not a match for people who really know the service industry in my opinion.

Learned Dermaplaning, Lasers, Botox Injections and MicroNeedling. I feel very confident going forward with the training I received. Lora (the main educator and owner) blew me away with her knowledge. I've been going here for mostly cuts since I was 14, and up until this week, have had nothing but…read moregood experiences! However, I went it about 4 days ago to get a balayage color, and even came in with a picture of what I was wanting. The instructors and the student looked it over and said it was very doable. I explained how I already had some brassy tones in my hair and really wanted to go with more of an ashy color. One of the most important things I wanted was it to blend and look natural. The picture attached is what I left with. I was given a copper color that stopped about halfway through my hair and had blonde chunky pieces just randomly picked out. It was the complete opposite of what I had asked for. I spoke to the director the next day who scheduled me with another student and said the instructor would also be assisting as well. Considering what I walked in with, they did an excellent job of trying to salvage my hair in time for our engagement pictures this week. It still needs work, but overall I'm pleased with the correction Asha and Ms. Frazier pulled off. I will say that the first student did a great job with the cut, the color was just incredibly sloppy and very far from my vision. These are not professionals, and we pay for a learning experience. With that being said, the instructors need to supervise these newer students much more thoroughly. I feel like my experience could've been avoided if that was done correctly.

There was little to no instruction, minimal hands-on practice, and the teachers consistently did the bare minimum. We were expected to sit there for 7 1/2 hours a day with very little actual teaching or guidance. Students weren't even allowed to practice on each other unless services were paid for, despite already purchasing products in our student kits. The entire program felt disorganized, unprofessional, and run with a high-school mentality rather than a serious educational environment. I honestly feel scammed and misled about what this program would provide. The curriculum lacked structure, effort, and support, and it often felt like teaching students was an inconvenience to the staff. We practically had to beg to learn anything. I would strongly recommend looking into other esthetician programs before investing your time and money here.

I am a college cheerleader now and I attribute a lot of my success too saddle rock! They also have super fun birthday parties, you get the whole gym to yourself and you get to use their party room. It feels really good to be able to bring her to a place where she has developed such close bonds not only with the other kids but with her coaches! From a mothers stand point I am pleased with not only the fact that she is learning gymnastics (obviously) but also that this experience has helped her substantially with her social skills and gross motor skills development which in turn has helped her in school! We have met all of their coaches and really have no complaints, our daughter trusts each of them equally The rest of the staff is friendly and environment has always been welcoming and clean.
