There's a game room, binoculars, hot chocolate w mini marshmallows, beautiful sitting areas to enjoy the view throughout the property including the front porch where we hung out after dinner. The restaurant right across the street about a stone's throw away at Charles Street served tapas and seafood w live jazz in a Sat night. We also tried Bugeye Grill another night and they were fantastic too. Never really had to get back in the car as you can walk just a few blocks up to the main part of town w a few shops and restaurants. Right next door is an outdoor salty tiki bar that looks fun when it warms up more. I could go on and on. Oh, and Calvert Cliffs park is only 10 min away by car where you can find shark teeth and fossils, which we did! Soo much better than a hotel or airbnb!

The two of them make a great team. It's obvious from their introduction that they love sharing their passion of sailing with others. Before we even got to the dock I was in contact with Josh on the phone and email. He responded quickly and was happy to offer some amenities. Josh offered me a few pick up locations and offered to drop us at our hotel marina. Once on the boat we covered a quick but thorough safety brief. We toured the river before entering the bay. Carmelita and Josh made suggestions for restaurants and other activities on Solomons and pointed them out as we passed them. Our tour took us around Solomons Island and under the bridge at sunset. Carmelita took pictures of us the whole time and shared them with us after the tour. It was great talking with them about how they got into sailing and how they learned their craft. The boat was clean and appeared to be sound. On the way back lighting storms were surrounding us. The light show was really cool to watch. The storm was about 30 miles so there was no danger and we felt safe the Josh and Carmelita were keeping an eye on the weather. I would definitely recommend their tour or charter service. Lisa and her team are very creative and detail-oriented, and you essentially get a free event designer (as well as coordinator) included in your catering costs, it is a value that cannot be beat! They were responsive to the needs and ideas that were unique to our event and helped turn our thinking into a real vision - and then they executed it! Guests were impressed with the food and the cocktails! The executive chef is very talented and the menu was creative; Canards listened to the food styles we were interested in and suggested items that would add some special elements and elevate the menu. They are so flexible and the sky is the limit, and everything is plated in a beautiful way. Really can't go wrong with food from Canards. Canards is very fairly priced and the team looks for ways to save you a buck where possible. They coordinate rentals and other vendors for no additional fees. They designed a linen/décor/tablescape plan that was super unique and then handled rentals and set up, and the results really were stunning. They suggested a decorative scheme for our ceremony space and handled it directly, creating a floral backdrop. They ordered bulk florals/décor which they turned into simple but beautiful centerpieces, which saved us a pretty penny. They helped us do a "welcome" greeting before the ceremony and cocktail hour without inflating the price. It really does result in the best value that you can find for wedding catering, really impressive what they can do for each event. The vendors and service staff they work with are extremely professional. Service was excellent throughout dinner and the rest of the event. Other places either required more than one night or are too pricy for what I'm looking for just for a night without bringing much items (small rooms). No fridge and no toiletries (just bar soap) - so bring your shampoo and conditioner. Towels and toilet paper provided. There was also a basic and small hair dryer hanging on the bathroom wall. My room was clean, sheets were fresh, and it was quiet even on Sat night. I didn't need to use my noise cancelling machine which I always bring just in case when traveling. Jan offered to take me to places in town if needed however I didn't need it this quick trip. I also felt safe in the motel. Jan lives next door and mentioned there have never been any break ins. That was important for me since I was traveling alone. I would love to return another weekend with my fiancé or maybe some family if they're able to book the next door rooms.
