I left a message with Veteran's Landscaping & Irrigation and received a call back within 30 minutes. Mr. Davis agreed to stop by my dad's to check out the sprinkler and leaks. Mr. Davis diagnosed the problems and came up with an itemized list of hardware needed to repair my dad's sprinklers and leaks. He was on time and reliable while working in my dad's yard. In May 2025 I contracted with VLC to perform some minor grading and sod replacement in my back…read moreyard. After a few delays due to weather and scheduling conflict where the work would have been completed while I was out of town, my contract was satisfied in mid July. The first day that they were on site, they did not address all areas that were originally estimated so I had to schedule them to come back out later and address what was omitted. That work was not completed until the last few days of July 2025. Within a few weeks of the work being completed, a large portion of the sod had not taken root and was obviously dormant or dead. I contacted them and a few days later someone from management came out and assessed the sod. He stated that we were headed into the dormant season and we would reassess at the beginning of the next summer. On 18 May I contacted them because the sod had still not begun to grow and still remained dead. I received an automated response stating that someone would reach out to me to discuss, but no further response was provided. I sent another email on 27 May and received the same automated response until someone showed up on 01 June. They spoke with my wife and told her that management would be in touch to discuss my issue. No one followed up with either of us after that visit. I emailed them again on 06/24 and 07/05 along with two text messages sent to their system. All of these were responded with the same automated "someone will contact you". After multiple attempts to correct the issues with the work put in place, I contacted them for a final time today and informed them of me placing this review. I also informed them that as a veteran, I wanted to support a veteran owned business and willingly paid them a higher rate for the same work. I kept this internal before posting any review because I wanted to give them an opportunity to address my concerns or even acknowledge my request. At this point however, I can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt. Please be aware when reviewing this company. It pains me to say that I cannot recommend them for any work moving forward. They also broke down to do the landscape lighting for $2500. So after considering Southern Scape's quote which included color change lights, I paid a deposit and signed a contract. A month later they did the job and when I came home, I saw where there were no eaves lights. I contacted Greg the next day and he said the quote did not include them. I take responsibility for not double checking the line item quote, and sure enough, they were not on there. So the quote was basically $8500 for a 15 lights. I know it isn't fair to compare one quote to another exactly, but $6000 difference for landscape lighting is an insane difference. I reached out to Will and he came by my house. I showed him the back and forth text from the other company which quoted $2500 for landscaping and $6-8K to include eaves lights. The miscommunication was very unfortunate, but there is NO WAY I would have ever considered an $8500 quote when I had one for $2500. I requested a price break on the job and he asked me what would make me happy. I just said you see what happened, it's unfortunate but whatever you think is fair, I will pay, even if you charge me full price. He said he would talk to the owner and get back to me. The next day I got a computer generated email for the full amount, no break, not 1 dollar, and no phone call. So, my experience is that I was RIPPED a new one by this company and would not recommend them to anyone.
