This was by far the worst salon I have been to. Even worse than those generic Super/WonderCuts. I went there to get a scissors cut. I was assigned to a barber Alex. She had no cutting skills and her hands were shaking as she had just downed 10 Red Bulls. She took super long for a simple cut and we had to keep telling her to keep cutting. (I am a natural blonde and always want it to remain natural looking) I went to Jerri in Ridgeland and she only saw ONE picture I showed her and knocked it out of the park!! To say I am thrilled is an understatement. She also never made me feel anything less than important and made the time fly when getting my hair done. So I'm new in town, and I did a lot of research on salons before I chose this one. The reviews were kind of a mixed bag, but I decided to try it out anyway. I was a little worried about the price, since they didn't show a general price range for their services, but I made sure I could pay a little bit of a pretty penny before I made my appointment. I called Monday to make the appointment, and since it was my first visit I asked the receptionist who would be the best to cut my pixie style, and she suggested Jenna and another lady, so I chose Jenna and got an appointment for the very next day. I found the place easily, and when I walked in it was clean and there was a gentle buzz of conversation. I filled out a little form and was led to my chair by the receptionist, who gave me a welcome packet and offered me a various assortment of beverages. Jenna came to me right away with a welcoming smile and shook my hand. I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted and she got right to work. We had a very nice conversation, and she asked to see the picture of my cut several times in order to get it just right. She worked quickly and made sure I got the shape and texture that my super fine hair needed. Jenna asked how I wanted my hair styles before she started, and she did an awesome job, while showing me what type of products to use and how to use them to get the desired results. (I LOVE the smell of the Maroccanoil products, btw!) When she was done, she helped me set up my next appointment and helped me find the products I needed to buy. When I went to check out, I was expecting to pay close to $80 or more for the great cut and the product I purchased, but I payed way less! Yay! I will definitely be making this my go-to salon, and I'm hoping to convince my husband to give it a try too! Jenna is a great stylist for pixies, and she is so sweet and easy to talk to, even for a pretty shy person like myself! I can't recommend this place soon enough! read more

I've been coming to this salon for close to 7 years and have always loved the magic they create with my hair. Krista and Todd both have cut and colored my hair and I have to say they are truly like no other. I've had highlights, drastic cuts, foils, color, and even a perm once and everything has looked great (yes, even the perm). In December 2014, I got my first balayage,it's kind of like an ombré, I am now just returning in July to get another. Very low maintenance hair for sure! read more

Never go to this location if you are looking for Japanese hair straightening. I called twice to confirm whether they perform Japanese hair straightening, and they confirmed that they do. I drove two hours straight, and when I arrived, they were telling me that a product would be applied and they were not sure what the result would be. However, the product had worked on the stylist's hair numerous times. You will probably not be able to leave the salon after driving for two hours trusting them. They do not follow the normal steps for straightening hair. They perform a rough one-time ironing. Straightening of hair (let it be any type) required multiple straightening sessions. None of these steps are followed by them. In the end, $500 was taken without any remorse. Some people earn money through hard work, while others cheat. Anyway, God bless them! read more

Probably the worst haircut I have had . My stylist was Sarah. I showed so many pics and explained to the stylist what I wanted , yet she made my layers so choppy and ended up cutting them Too short on the front. Walking out of there , what I did not appreciate the most was the fact that the stylist nor the person I was checking out with made an attempt to make sure I was going home a happy customer. Being in a customer service business , they did not seem To care that I was clearly unhappy with the cut. I put my hair up in my pony tail as soon as she finished my cut and also told her the cut did not look right . All this should have been a big sign that I was not a satisfied customer. I did not want to make a big deal as I knew no further cutting would fix the Damage. Moreover, when you book your cut, they forget to mention that if you want a shampoo or style afterwards it's a separate service and you have pay for that. I understand the styling part as many salons do that now but I was really surprised to hear about the shampoo being an extra charged service . I have gotten a cut before from the jackson location and don't recall having to pay for the shampoo . Nevertheless I have not had a worse haircut than I did today and I can safely say I will never be going back to watercolor . I really wonder where they got their "best salon" title from. read more

I went to this salon for a consultation since we just moved to town and I wanted to find the absolute best person that could work hand in hand with my old stylist. I made my appointment, arrived early and ended up having to wait at least 20 minutes for said consultation. The ladies at the front desk were extremely rude. The consultation was pointless. The stylist didn't even touch my hair and tried to sell me products without even being aware that I'm already using top of the line products. They lost my service without ever really doing a service. This was my first visit here. Walked in was greeted immediately which was nice. Beautiful place , great atmosphere. I really liked the way Lacy cut my hair and I would probable go back BUT!!!!!! the reason I can only give 3 STARS (I can't remember her name ) but whoever did my eyebrows did an awful job. First - the salon is really beautiful. It's in a great part of town and is decorated well. It's relaxing, and the music they play isn't elevator music - so that's a huge plus. I scheduled a cut and color with Katie for this past Monday. I got my hair colored a dark purple and it looks fantastic! I did have a problem with my cut - it was a little uneven in the back and so I called and they got me in with the owner Todd the next day. He was great and even suggested a few other things that would make my new style look great, and they didn't charge me for the adjustment, which is awesome. Katie was knowledgeable about the products she used, and Todd gave me great suggestions for styling my hair. Even though I did have a little upset with the haircut, the service I received and the knowledge the staff had are really, really great. This is a wonderful salon. I started using Jenna several months ago to have my hair cut and colored. I tried several of the upscale salons in the Jackson/Ridgeland /Madison area and I would leave thinking "well, it looks okay". When I leave Watercolors Salon after having Jenna do my hair, I'm thinking "Wow! I absolutely LOVE my hair." On top of being a great stylist, she is a sweetheart with a great personality. To be an up scale salon I got the worst haircut ever!!! The stylist cut for 5 minutes and she was done. She didn't have any suggestions or seemed liked she was even interested in giving good service or haircut. When letting the owner know of my dissatisfaction he didn't seem concerned that i wasn't satisfied with the service provided at his salon! Do not waist your time and money at this salon!! I recently moved to Madison from Atlanta, wanted to find salon simiar to my Atlanta salon. This place was recommended to me by new neighbor and I am shocked with my entire hair experience! Walked in the door and they tried selling me all sorts of hair products that I did not need. I already used the best shampoo and conditioners. I requested color for gray coverage, cut and smoothing treatment for my naturally curly hair. I left almost 4 hours later with terrible cut and was told to wait 6-7 hours before next shampoo. Two days later I was horrified! The cut was pathetic, huge gap in layers in the back of my hair. My hair was smooth for about 7 days, then slowly started to get wavy and within another week curly again. $ 100 for the same smoothing treatment which I have received for the past 8 years. $400 for my entire bill! I called but receptionist would not let me speak to girl who took up 4 hours of my time! Horrible experience.!!!!! read more
