Ed just finished my pool and he did an amazing job! He does not ask for 100% up front. He brought us a beautiful drawing of how he was going to redo our pool and backyard. Each project was clearly spelled out and also as to the cost. No surprises. You pay that amount once a project is complete (i.e. grotto or pavers) His workers were pleasant and worked very fast. He was at our house everyday, even weekends to either do some of the work himself or supervise. He was always asking if I liked how it was going. I have amazing photos that I would happily share with any potential customer. He came up with ideas we would never have thought of. I look forward to coming home from work and going in my backyard. He's a very nice man and I felt he was very honest and fair. If you go on the BBB website and Google maps, you'll see very positive reviews. read more

We hired Ed Huber ,owner of Waterfall Pools, Inc,back in September of 2012. It is now MAY 2013...our backyard is a complete disaster, and the pool is only about halfway finished. He made us pay almost 100% of the total upfront ($80,000), and only sent ONE part time guy to work on the job. He will not make your pool per the plans or the contract. The inspectors ask him if he knows how to read plans. He will try to upcharge you for everything and not present you with any change orders. If you do not allow him to extort you for money then he will walk off the job. You will be stuck paying huge money to finish your pool since he has made you prepay so much in advance. There is a class action lawsuit against him that is ongoing because of so many people that have been defrauded. Do NOT hire Ed Huber of Waterfall Pools, Inc. for any reason! He is a professional con-man. Ask him for references and you will see that you will not get any except a visit to an unfinished job when the homeowner is not present. We have spoken to 5 prior clients and been told that he they all had bad experiences. He steals people's money and delivers shoddy workmanship. He will cut every corner to save a dollar then nickel-and-dime you to death. His employees all confirm that he pulls this scam on ALL his clients. Be very careful with this company. It's a one-man show. Ed, the owner is rude and very hard to work with. He will not listen and create a situation from day one to collect most of the money and keep you hostile throughout the project. If you ask him anything he will rudely response to wait until the end of the project and in the end when he has all of the money collected from you will tell you that is what you contracted him for. Beware of Ed Huber he is a con man. I just read the review from Miriam R. and it is my experience exactly. He made us pay 100% of the total upfront and when we refused to let him up charge us he did not finish the job and left our backyard in a complete disaster. I hired Ed Huber of Waterfall Pools in May 2018. Ed did a fantastic job building a waterfall for my pool. He explained every stage of the job, started and finished the job on time and did not charge me anything but was agreed on. Ed was diligent & supervised and worked on the job even on the weekends to get it finished. The waterfall passed inspection with the city of Davie with flying colors. What I loved about Ed is he is so passionate about creating beautiful pools and waterfall. He even gave me free advice on how I could improve on my pool that was being renovated by another pool company Bluewater pools that I had hired before I met Ed. That other pool company did not meet deadlines and dragged out the job for months. The supervisor of that pool company never came out to my pool and supervised the job ever, worked many pools simultaneously and was not consistent in showing up to finish my pool timely. I did not have a five star experience with that other pool company and they left my pool with an unresolved leak and has made no effort to fix it. I wish that other pool company was as dedicated as Ed Huber to please me as a customer. I would definitely recommend Ed to all my friends and family. My waterfall looks great... Ed landscaped it tropically and lived up to all my expectations. read more

I wish I had read Miriam's review before I hired Ed of Waterfall Pools. It would have saved me a lot of heartache and distress. I have had nothing but terrible experiences with pool contractors and subcontractors. All of them ask for payment in advance then once they have you hooked they bait and switch you into higher costs and threaten to abandon the project knowing it will cost you more to go to anybody else half way. I contracted with Waterfall Pools after having been robbed of a lot of money by another crook company Nationwide Pools run by Keith Stuart. I should have suspected foul play when the owner Ed Huber only provided a handwritten contact that was specifically vague on the scope of work. I had to sit and discuss the contract with him for over 4 hours as I saw multiple opportunities where he left the contract open ended to try an upcharge later on. This left him little scope to upcharge me as he had originally planned but he still squeezed extra money out of me on various stages as described below. First Ed had his subcontractor Riteway Trucking over dig around my pool to a depth of 4 feet which was totally unnecessary. He did this to avoid trenching for the pipes as is customary and this over-dig and subsequent backfilling work cost me $10,000+ extra. Ed's subcontracted plumber did not finish the plumbing according to plan. Ed tried to ask me to hurry up and cover the flawed plumbing (with multiple uncapped pipes too) in hopes I would not notice. When I brought in an independent pool plumber to inspect the work and discovered the flaws, Ed refused to fix it and abandoned my project for over 2 months. Finally when I threatened informing the authorities he finished the plumbing job but now wanted an extra $1100 for the extra work for a mistake his subcontractor made! During the build of the waterfall he tried similar upcharges at every stage and threatened to delay work and walk away from the project whenever I disagreed. He agreed to build a bridge and table later decided he did not want to build it as per his words he had just mentioned a price in the moment to do these items but is not interested in making them as he will make no money on it! Again this is his ploy to keep a very vague contract upfront so he can upcharge as the job gets along thereby showing a lesser cost in the beginning but ending up to be more expensive later on. He up-charged me $2500 for electrical piping after having agreed to do it for $1000. He later up-charged me $3500 for closing up a hole in the slide structure that he initially agreed he would do. Apparently the charge was for removing the concrete papering since the slide structure would now be exposed. Ed and his one worker popped in an out whenever they wanted with no focus on my project. They did not clear construction debris and left a messy job site for days. They stored material such as concrete and blocks for other jobs on my site and used my  backyard as a storage area without my consent. I had to call repeatedly and he was routinely rude and disrespectful to me and my family members raising his voice and losing his temper.  Overall Ed is a dishonest businessperson, he has no sense of customer service, overcharges for work and holds customers hostage. Avoid Ed Huber and Waterfall Pools at all costs and please report similar instances where he has messed with customers so this person can be stopped from doing pool business in South Florida especially Broward County. I have complained to the City of Davie and Sunrise on Ed and his nefarious acts. Waterfall Pools is an F on Angie's List, Yelp and Google Reviews but they have an A+ on BBB as they paid for their listing. Go figure! Fortunately nobody trusts or reads BBB anymore. read more

Let me tell you about Ed and WaterfallPools. This company is a true find. Ed is an artist, a perfectionist, has been doing this for 30+ years, and is a really nice guy. He transforms boring pools into luscious tropical paradises. What he does is a true service, as there is nothing more relaxing in life than flowing water, after a hard days work, or being upset about anything, you need only look at his work. If everyone in the world had one of these in their house I'm convinced there would probably be a lower world crime rate! Ed carries a binder of all the jobs over the years he's done and they are incredible. He takes ownership of projects, is out there in the hot FL sun with his workers, and really cares. He took my pool and made a double waterfall entrances that you walk over to get into the house. Every guest I have forever will be wowed as they walk over this unique entryway unlike any other house. I also appreciated the creative brainstorming process with Ed as we were coming up with this. He gave me a great deal as well.....***Let me also tell you this, a malignant former client set a vendetta to ruin his business and had many of her friends give him bad reviews as if they were separate clients. As a business owner myself, I don't know what type of horrible person does this. Anyone who meets Ed, or look at his photos, will instantly know that none of that is true. Frankly, not being a lawyer, I would think this is grounds for litigation for slander and those people should really consider deleting the fake reviews and correcting any that are accurate.
