We booked the private sunset cruise from 7-9 and were booked on the boat, Sassy. My sister lives on one of the lagoons in Ocean City and sees the boats going by her house daily. Since we knew her lagoon was a part of the route, she called about two hours before our departure to see if we could have our pickup be at her house rather than Somers Point. Captain Greg was super accommodating and was happy to come pick us up from her dock. He arrived a few minutes early so that we could get set up and comfortable on the boat before taking off. The boat had two large Yeti coolers filled with ice for us to keep our drinks cold. They also had trash cans and cups for our drinks. Captain Greg answered all of our questions about the area, was always willing to take a photo and even made sure the boat was positioned just right so the sunset was in the background of each photo. If you are debating renting a tiki boat from Pau Hana, DO IT! Really fun experience :)

Wow, what a class act! My wife and I came to town in the off-season, and my wife loves to fish. On that factor alone, we decided to move our date to the next day when they were available. Captain Mike watched the weather forecast closely and said he would make the call the afternoon before our trip. Based on all the data and his experience, he felt it would be a good trip. We met Captain Mike and his 1st mate, Andrew at 7 AM and we headed out for Seabass. They treated my wife and I with a great deal of respect and great friendly conversations. The waves were a little closer together than forecasted. Which made for a very rough ride. We arrived at our fishing spot and drop the lines for a short bit. Mike closely monitored the radio and made the wise decision to pull the lines up and head in as the reports were that the winds and waves were coming in much sooner than predicted. We were able to see some humpback whales blowing, and even a US Coast Guard helicopter training Mission. We really enjoyed ourselves in spite of the waves and me "feeding the fish" a couple of times. When we returned to dock, Captain Mike was clearly disappointed and graciously offered to adjust our rate since we weren't out there the full time. Absolutely no doubt that we would book with them again in the future.

Got to the point the passengers were tapped out and we got to see him and the mate compete for biggest fish amongst self. Amazing experience and my 9yo just loved it. Gave Mike another shot in May 2022 for seabass and did not disappoint. Over 160 boated for the four of us and maxed out our keepers. Just a genuinely great guy and phenomenal with kids. Not sure I could go out with anyone else in the area.

The foam was a mess. Robert the salesman had the nerve to blame me when we went out on a sea run which lasted 5 minutes for putting this mess all over the boat. I went on the boat to the helm then off the boat I saw the mess and he said we will clean this up. I got nothing but bullshit excuses from Robert so he sent this to his boss Chris. Chris called and asked me how can we make this right and I said clean all the stains I couldn't get up and replace my net that was taken. He asked where the boat was so they could go clean it and that they would call back to let me know. Never got the call so I contacted them the next day and they told me they went early in the morning and did it without notifying me and Chris's response was"I didn't know you wanted to be there". If I would have gotten the callback like you said you would give I would have told you I wanted to be there and at that point I would be able to show the pads that had rips and punches in them. So to end this Chris said he can see there's nothing they can do to make me happy and as for the net someone stole it when they had it in their marina water. So I haven't gone down to the boat and this is far from over. Look at the pictures and you tell me. One more thing they chipped a corner near the front hatch and this is what Robert said happened" it was an AIR VOID" yes that's what he said. He is very insulting of peoples intelligence.

With that said, if I was a novice, I would have been terrified to get on the water. The inept group of high schoolers and college students that helped us get out were not confidence inspiring. The woman who checked us in told us to "be careful" multiple times and insisted that we watch the safety video. However, not five seconds after we had moved to the area where you watch the video did she tell us to go outside and get a life vest. I was shocked at the speed with which were were out on the water. Once at the end of the dock, the kid that checked us in explained no less than 3 times that "this is really dangerous" without any words of guidance or advice. I got the sense that they were just waiting for something bad to happen. Once we were out there, things were fine, although the definitely had too many people out there. We spent lots of time worrying about other riders coming up behind us or stopping short in front of us while the "staff" sat and talked on or near the path where customers are supposed to ride. Worst of all this was about $150/hour. If you are itching to use a wave runner on the bay, this place is probably your best bet. But for my money, I would drive to Marmora and rent some wave runners on the bay. I would love to give a local small business 5 stars but I just cannot in good conscious given the flippant manner in which our safety was treated.
