Barring not following a few directions, being 3-4 hours late, and leaving some protruding tile clips on the bull nose, the job was good. The floor is a different story. I made sure the business was comfortable installing 1" hex tile, which is appropriate for the age of the building. Every time I walk on it, I feel the gross waviness, even some protruding tiles, because they didn't bother tamping the tile. The grout lines are visibly uneven, because they didn't bother using spacers or squaring the floor first. See the photos. Worse yet, I have contacted the owner 3-4 times in a very respectful manner to get help with making things right. At first, the owner chalked-up the poor worksmanship to the building being old or the room not being square or the floor not being level. I'm sorry, but this is not a good explanation at all, and I'm a bit insulted by it. The subfloor and Durock was brand new. The owner has ignored the last couple of texts, so I am leaving this review. I would avoid this business if you care about the quality of your tile install. I wish I had gone with someone else for the floor, and I wish I had not assumed that tile installation by a "pro" is going to be the same regardless of who you pick. It is a shame. I spent a long time planning this bathroom and picking the tile for someone to screw it up with such a subpar job.

As the owner, Douglas Hunter came out himself to both spec and bid the job. I was immediately impressed that he did not try to upsell me, instead giving me some suggestions for improving the appearance of the 45 year old concrete parking area my driveway leads to. His bid was competitive and in line with what I expected. After I accepted his bid he called and set a date for the work. Unlike other contractors I've dealt with, his crew of 3 showed up when promised and put in 2-1/2 full working days to get the job done, which involved making a clean connection to the old concrete pad, removing large tree roots, and working around borders and landscaping before putting down around 800 square feet of concrete. Workmanship was excellent and very professional (it was a real crew, not day labor). The crew totally cleaned up after themselves, putting things pretty much back in order, leaving very little for me to take care of myself. I wish all contractors were as responsible.
