Up front, let me simply say, West Chester Dental Arts is the absolute best for any kind of dental…read morework whether routine or complex. The amazingly skilled and congenial Dr. Fort plus his team of talented professionals (like gum specialist Stephanie or hygienist Shannon) can do it all -- pleasantly and expertly. You can readily tell that the entire WCDA team like each other and their work as they smile and display gentle senses of humor which make even anxious patients smile. Moreover, you won't be sent to other dental offices for complex procedures like I've experienced with other dentists. As a senior citizen with various dental problems over the years, I've had decades of experiences. These experiences have varied widely at dental offices literally around the U.S. and even a few outside the U.S. plus one on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier where I served for a couple of years. Some dentists were good but their support team had weaknesses like an unpleasant receptionist or untalented hygienist; other times, the weak point of the practice was actually the dentist who didn't have much ability so he or she had to re-direct you to other dental offices for any procedure that was complex. It's a whole new dental world at West Chester Dental Arts where I've found everyone to be friendly, gracious and talented expert professionals in all their team roles. Recently I needed a dental implant to replace a missing tooth and was apprehensive about the process as I had heard some concerning stories from friends about the process based on their experiences with other dentists. But, everything went totally smoothly for me with highly skillful Dr. Fort and his support team. I experienced virtually no pain at any time from start to finish during the several month process and the implant fits so perfectly that it feels and looks just like another one of my natural teeth that has been in my mouth for years. The superior talents and pleasant attitudes of Dr. Fort and his talented team have given me great comfort about any dental work I may need in the future. BTY, Dr. Fort is the first dentist I've ever overheard say that he truly enjoys his work and appreciates his patients. That comment alone was enough to make me know that I had finally found my dentist for the rest of my life!

After my abutment teeth were broken during a bridge removal and already 1300$ in the hole he offered to give me snap in dentures at a cost of 27k because my teeth would no longer support a bridge. Downingtown dental studios and Dr Shah just finished my permanent implants for thousands less the Dr Forts quote for dentures and the experience was amazing. Dr Shah is the owner and single Dr that does the work. He doesn't overbook. The circumstances behind this were avoidable but im glad I found a provider that does what they say theyre going to do. They sure do care...about getting paid. When I called to set up an appointment they spent 20…read moreminutes on the phone collecting my insurance info, billing info, backup insurance info and oh, yeah my issue. Then they spammed me online with the same insurance questions, super long health surveys, hippa disclosure and boilerplate liability waivers. Oh, and attach pictures of insurance cards. Later that day I get a phone call asking for more photos of insurance cards. Next morning I get another call. Can I come in early? Well, did you receive my referral, xray and have my insurance info ok? Um, dunno, can you come in earlier? When I arrive for my "consultation" appointment they ask for my payment information, identification, want to make copies of my insurance cards (4th time if you're counting). Then they wisk me into the x ray room. Why, I ask, since my dentist sent my day old xray to you? Well, we need a panoramic x-ray they say. Thanks for exposing me to more radiation and unnecessary medical procedures! A pano was not needed and could've been requested from my dentist. Then comes the dds... we'll pull the teeth out, do you want a local or be put out? I say, how's the xray look? Umm, its fine says he. Local or general? Hmm So now the insurance lady shows up. Well, your dental wont cover a general, that'll be $1200 out of pocket. Great, local is fine. Ok, so how are we paying today? $150 out of pocket for the xray he didn't look at and scheduled the appointment. At this point I have spent 4 hours across several days answering the same questions over and again. Not so much as a minute on my medical condition. That's what pain to expect before the actual procedure. Good luck and God Bless!

The quick appt time was where things ended. I completed the 7 pages of online registration and recv the confirmation email. When we arrived they didn't have it and the paper registration was 9 pages, fun times but not that big of a deal. After my child went back I just stayed in the small waiting area. Over the next 30 minutes the waiting room filled up. I was working on my laptop as the dental hygienist suddenly showed up and then in a relatively loud voice announced my child's diagnosis, prognosis, and asked several questions of personal medical history. This was all with 5 to 6 other patients and family members could plainly hear. I'm no HIPAA maniac, but this really put my hackles up. I felt deeply disturbed and embarrassed to have to share such private information with strangers. Then to make another appt I was led into a semi private consultation booth to speak to the receptionist behind the waiting room door. Why is that area not used for consultation? They seriously need to either expand their office space or move to a larger office to afford patients and their caregivers privacy. Then of course I was shocked to find out the follow-up appt would be 6 months out and that was the soonest they have. What are you doing that you have to book that far out? Again bring in a practice partner to share the load or reduce your patient load. Overall the end of what was a standard dental appt was deeply problematic. We will be trying the Thorndale office since the appt is the same time away at this point. Or perhaps we will head back to the Main Line where the staff was far more professional and perfectly versed in healthcare privacy.
