It's been quite awhile since I've gone to Waterway, but the last time I did their prices were around $35 for a full wash/interior. Today I went and it was $55, which is quite the price increase. I did review their work and had them re-do certain areas but when I got home they still looked dirty. Not sure what's in their spray water bottle but it didn't do much. I used a normal baby wipe and it came off...so yeah, frustration. Also, they really need to look into micro fiber cloths, there is lint all over the exterior of my car and the interior felt a bit fuzzy on the dash as well. We live close to the State Line Waterway, and recently received coupons for a choice of a free Ceramic Express or Wheel Deal. I opted for the former, supposedly worth $ 25. Well, it consisted of riding through the wash and getting a additional wax spray treatment during the drive-through. If I were a blue or circle member, I could then have turned to the left for more, but I am not. And not even the workers who used to do the spot-drying were there by 85th St. Really, that's it? Just had my car and wheels washed (29.95 extra for wheel cleaning). When I got home, I checked them to see if they were clean and they were not. About half the road debris was still in the spokes and at the bottoms of the wheel. It was very evident if anyone had looked. My seats and floor were also in need to attention with crumbs still evident in the folds. Usually get better service here. Needless to say, after I use up my Christmas Gift Certificates (4 more), I will not be going back. However, the guys cleaning my car were very polite and courteous, just not very conscientious. read more

Updated review - mostly to remind myself to never go to this waterway location again - it is absolutely ridiculous that this location does not have an express lane. Secondly, while I understand new people need to be trained, the fact that my windshield looks almost as dirty as it did when I brought the car in is making me not a very happy camper. When training someone, a supervisor or person who has some experience in the field should be supervising and watching what is being done. The new kid did a terrible job on my car. Giving two stars because the cashier did a great job making sure I got my discount despite not having my card. love Waterway because they give discounts to students and teachers and make it an easy process. If it weren't for the discount, I'm not sure I'd frequent any location nearly as often. 10¢ off every gallon, $2 off any carwash, and 2-3 months of free basic car washes is a steal of a deal. This Waterway is my last favorite location as they have no ride thru express as the others do. They tend to take longer regardless of the number of cars and, in general, I dislike the clientele in Leawood. I have never been so disappointed in a car wash. I was a Blue Member for two years and this is the reason why I stopped. I got my car washed today for the first time this winter and it was the worst experience ever. $27 for an exterior wash only?? Are you kidding me? What a joke. What happened to including interior vacuuming, windows cleaned, interior cleaned, and exterior wiped down. What the hell does $27 include besides riding through a car wash and nothing being touched when done? Is this your way of saving labor and all other costs? WORST EXPERIENCE EVER: On June 27th, my boyfriend took our car to get washed and cleaned. We trusted these people to give us our car back clean, BUT it came back damaged!! They completely ripped off our front grill because "a towel grazed over it" I have a jeep cherokee and the grills were FULLY intact before dropping it off. I talked to the manager Mason Pine who was horrible, rude and not willing to cover the fees or damages! I have made a police report and will be taking this to small claims court as well. You couldn't give me a free car wash to come back. Half a fast job for an overpriced service. I purched the All In for $44 and plus $6 to have mats cleaned. The drying job was horrible, and my truck is still wet. They didn't vacuum my bag seat. Rather, they put the seats up and left them. They didn't clean the doors well at all and sprayed the middle console, and did not wipe it up. Windows were not wiped down. Probably my biggest issue, they removed my floor mats and threw them back and forth on the floor. Took them somewhere and rinsed them, brought the mats back soak and wet. Threw them some more on the ground, then placed them back in the truck wet without drying them. I'm sure with debris on the bottom of them since they were tossing them on the concrete. What a waste of money. After all, I will need to go back and clean the truck myself. read more

This Waterway location is slightly better than the rest I've visited but they're all terrific. Hoch is particularly good at his job, always friendly, and unfailingly proficient. The carwash is clean, you can wait outside for your car and it's just a great experience from start to finish. Plenty of gas pumps means you don't have to wait (usually). Some businesses just do things a bit better all the way around than their competitors and this Waterway is an example of that. read more

First time visiting this establishment. I spoke to the attendant and told him it was my first time and wasn't sure in the process. He explained it, I told him I wanted the $14 wash only. I went into the store and noticed he marked the $14 wash & vac so I told the cashier who messaged the attendants it was the $14 exterior wash. I noticed the attendants then began vacuuming out my vehicle after the wash, and checked in with the cashier about my concern of getting the correct wash since they are still vacuuming out the vehicle. She said she told them so it should be fine. Im giving 2 stars because they made the mistake on which wash options I wanted, still did a vacuum on my car and the cashier didn't want to confirm that did the correct wash even, and 6 people stood around my vehicle waving towels in the air to get my attention instead of walking in to get me. read more

Paid for the Whole Thing for my son's car, with tax was about 48.00. Not sure what I got for 48.00 other than the tires shined and wheels wiped down. Dash still had dust on it, when I moved the seat back, the floor still have dirt all through the carpet. Back of the hatch wasn't vacuumed at all and that is about the easiest little space to vacuum. They didn't even try. Windows in the front were clean, but the back windows were untouched. This is a prime example of complete laziness and the lack of attention to details. Just to be clear, we understand this is work performed by unskilled labor (bunch of kids), but a little pride in whatever they do, goes a long way. If I want a great full service wash I always go to Waterway. The young people that work there are always polite. They are focused on customer service and getting my car clean in a timely manner. I highly recommend Waterway Carwash. If you're car has a performance engine (meaning you need premium gas) BP is one of the only places in Kansas that offer 93 octane. It's the only place I fill up. Go online and get the free "Perk" card for 10cents off per gallon every day of the week. They don't check for a student ID when you pay at the pump so I can still use mine even after graduation. As for the car wash services I offer a word of warning: they use terry cloth towels to dry off your car after it runs through the wash. Terry cloth is NOT SOFT ENOUGH and WILL LEAVE SWIRREL MARKS in your paint. Don't believe me? Look at every single car that comes through the line in the sun. Not everyone notices or cares, but I am very meticulous about my car. I had to do some serious Mr. Miagi training (wax on, wax off) to buff out all of the swirrels they left for me. That being said-- I still use Waterway in the winter because I'm not washing my car with a hose outside when its 4 degrees. The solution? Bring your own microfiber towels for them to use when drying your car. They are happy to use provided towels and are all very friendly. One last thing: Don't be a cheapass. TIP YOUR WASHER! Especially if it's friggin' cold outside! They do a good job, and are happy to touch up anything you notice they missed (and they will miss things like water drops or a little dirt in a dark recess of your side mirror). read more

The clean car club here is a good value, about $30 per month will buy you unlimited washes and a small discount on gas. I always try to bring my car in for a top up of gas on Tuesday's since Tuesday is the Car Club day for an upgrade to the interior/exterior cleaning called the Wheel Deal. I am mostly satisfied with the service, my main complaint is that it can take nearly an hour to wash your car at peak times. I try to work around that by arriving at off-peak times like 0930AM or 0230PM. All in all, $30 per month is a great value if you can regularly come in on Tuesdays for a Wheel Deal wash. read more

I went to Waterway to clean my Maserati. I was greeted by a delightful black man who asked me what level of wash I wanted. I (being an eccentric millionaire) naturally selected the MAX option. I was then instructed to go through to where I would leave my car and the wash would begin. I was allowed to see my car being driven through by a wonderful young lad named Steven. During the wash, I saw these employees take perfect care of my dirty Maserati and make it clean as my Momma's booty. I left Waterway with a smile on my face and a glistening Maserati in my possession. As I was leaving, that young chap named Steven asked me if I enjoyed my wash. Took my bug covered car to this Waterway location on 3/29 and purchased The Whole Deal. Never been there before because it is out of my way, but having positive experiences on the one on State Line, why not? There was another guy there getting his NSX washed, which was a shock, so I asked him about trusting his car to a drive-thru car wash. He said he had brought his car there on several occasions and was pleased with the results. That was a great endorsement, as I wasn't driving an NSX, but still a nice car. So the car goes through the automatic cycle and then a teenager tackles the final part. Hand raised so I go out to give the car a cursory looksee. That was my problem. Should have looked much, much closer, as the result was less than satisfactory. Driving home I saw the remnants of a bug in my field of vision. Then I noticed dust on the dash board. After getting home, I opened all the doors and there was dirt on all the sill plates. More looking at the dash and more dust. Stuff was not vacuumed from the cupholder in the driver's side door. I was mad at myself for not checking more thoroughly. But spending $30 + tax in Leawood made me get careless and not check everything. I did get on the phone and spoke with the Manager, Jeremy, about my issues. Told him they should call it the 3/4 Deal, not the Whole Deal. He was very apologetic and offered to give me a coupon for a free re-do. To this date I haven't returned because it is out of my way, and by now, Jeremy has long forgotten my dissatisfaction. Leawood location is an absolute joke for a car wash. Cancelled membership and the gas discount is a scam. They Jack gas prices up so with the discount you are actually paying the same as other gas stations. This Waterway location has been a fixture on 119th Street in Leawood for years. One of the main reasons why I have consistently avoided it, however, were the exorbitant prices. It's hard to justify $12 - $20 for basic car washes when you get a $6 - $8 wash at other local gas stations. Though pricey, Waterway is continually the best wash in town with the most attentive attendants, sparkling service, and rain re-wash guarantees. I started back at Waterway after receiving a coupon gift of free washes. Even though the wash coupons are for their "express wash," I use them toward credit on more expensive washes. Spending $9 on a wash instead of $17 is more in my wheelhouse. Washes here are always top notch. Great attention is paid toward thoroughly drying and vacuuming your vehicle. You can expect a team of no less than two high school age teens drying your car after it emerges from the tunnel of wash. These kids are working for peanuts - make sure you bring your cash and tip them. I usually give them $3 - $5 for making my car shine. read more

It was a pretty good job. I got the featured package that came to just under $40 with tax. It was really busy but I was in and out in about 20 minutes. The only thing I didn't like was that I have a Wrangler and they didn't vacuum my way back. If that was extra, I wish they would've told me so I could pay for it since it was covered in dog hair. Now I have to do it myself. Either way, if they are supposed to include it or not, I wish they would've told me. Also I saw some people tipping when their car was done. I've tried this place multiple times because the location is so convenient. I am disappointed each and every time. They charge way too much for the poor job. My car is still dirty every time I leave. And when I try inspecting it and asking them to correct it the children working there act completely put out by having to do their job. Then expect a big, fat tip apparently just for existing. I'm convinced that there just aren't any good car washes anymore. You have the do it yourself spots, the ones where you have to vacuum and these ones like Waterway. This is supposed to be full service. The kids they hire are checked out and don't care. They charge a ton for full services washes. They let your car dry in the sun and leave water marks all over the paint. The kids don't do a good job on the windows. They always miss parts or leave streaks. When people ask I always tell them I'm primarily a member because of the convenient location, not because of the quality! They only hire high school kids so that they can pay them next to nothing. Shiny, shiny car like new! I had been neglecting poor Smurfette (my blue car!) for a while so I decided to splurge on the $50 super intense wash at Waterway. They spent over 30 minutes on it, making sure each inch was sparkley clean! They shampooed everything, put Armourall (sp?!) on all the Armourall-y places, and it looks great. Too bad it's springtime and it rains the day after you get it washed, but guess what! They give you a 5 day guarantee so you can take it back in and get it shiny clean again within 5 days from your first wash! That's nice. This waterway was an amazing place to work. I was employed for three years through the company, and loved it. I had some of the greatest regulars and equally wonderful strangers. It's hard to find people that take pride in the quality of their work, and this place seems to have found them all. I will sincerely miss the team at waterway, but I will always be a customer at this great wash. (Also, I only feed my car 93 octane carried by BP. As does my boyfriend for his rare cobra.
