The cleaners do not do their job and instead of ending the contract with them the business continues to employ them. Babies end up with black dirt all over their legs & feet. The business prioritizes the Clarksville location and leaves the other 2 to fend for themselves. It's ridiculous and the business hides behind Christianity. I'm fed up with this sort of predatory business praying on families that want their children safe & to be raised with the knowledge of God.

Everyone seems so happy, they speak to me and my children each day and I can truly say my children are thriving in this program. I gave Celebree Columbia North a glowing review 5 months ago on google . That was before I realized the polished "tour" and promises were nothing but smoke and mirrors. Once you're in, you see the truth: this place is neglectful, unsafe, and run into the ground by poor ownership and new management. On multiple occasions, I picked up my child dirty, hungry, and thirsty. Bottles I packed came back completely full, leaving him dehydrated. His cheeks were flushed, lips dry, and he was clearly uncomfortable. If he didn't want to eat right away, the teacher just gave up and sent him home hungry. On top of that, he was put in the wrong diaper several times, which led to painful rashes (see pictures below). I've picked him up smelling like urine, proving he was left unchanged for far too long. Even though they claim they change the kids every 2 hours. The environment itself is no better. I saw bugs on the floors multiple times. The front door, supposed to be secure with a lock pad, was often broken, meaning anyone could walk in. Safety is supposedly their priority, but clearly it's not. The child reports were often unclear or incomplete, and when I asked teachers for details about his day, they couldn't even tell me what he ate, drank, or did. That's not communicationthat's incompetence. Teachers are constantly on their phones or sticking kids in front of iPads instead of teaching. I've caught teachers sleeping while children napped. The most disturbing was seeing a teacher yank a child up and verbally assault them. I refused to let my son into that classroom until that teacher was removed, but ownership took their sweet time to act. That is beyond unacceptable! And staffing? A disaster. Teachers walk out in the middle of the day all the time, leaving classrooms out of ratio and unsafe. I had to beg a teacher not to quit mid-shift so the children wouldn't be abandoned. You can see the exhaustion and burnout written on the staff's faces due to new management. It's sad and unfair for the kids who rely on routine and stability, and the owners simply ignore it. When I raised concerns, they brushed me off. Parents' voices mean nothing here! Celebree Columbia North charges top-dollar tuition $570 a week but delivers neglect, chaos, and unsafe conditions. Dirty classrooms(kids are always sick with COVID RSV or God knows what else), hungry and thirsty children(cause they have a give up method schedule) , bugs on the ground(be careful they might come home in your child's belongings), broken security doors, lazy staff or burnt out staff , and useless management / ownership that won't listen to concerns. I pulled my child out as FAST as I could, and I will never recommend this place to anyone! The only bright spots in this broken system were Ms. Zuri, Ms. Anna, Ms. Maya, and Ms. Patricia--teachers who genuinely cared for the children and gave their all in an environment stacked against them. And Ms. Lisa, in her management role, showed more effort and compassion than anyone else in leadership. Unfortunately, even their dedication couldn't make up for the chaos, indifference, and neglect created by ownership and poor management.

We are very grateful to this school for accommodating our daughter after the year had already…read morestarted, we don't expect they can do this for everyone but it's one of the reasons we loved it so much. The director of this school is amazing, she pours her heart, time, work, and love into the school, kids, activities, events, and ceremonies. The teachers are excellent as is the quality of the education. The behavior expectations are strict, but their methods are objectively effective and the teachers use proper disciplinary techniques (our daughter never complained about teachers shouting, yelling, or being mean like at other schools she's been at). Our 5 year old finished pre-K and is able to read, do math, and also learned history and geography. We recently took a long road trip and she often talked to us in the car about things she learned in school about the different states we visited, or historical figures we mentioned (She learned a lot about MLK, for instance). The school is wonderfully diverse, there is no religious affiliation so our daughter was taught equally about all religious and cultural traditions during the different holidays. We loved all the events, and ceremonies we attended, in the year our daughter was here we went to a few seasonal concerts were the kids sang and danced, as well as a trunk or treat, Halloween parade, earth-day activity, and a surprisingly robust graduation ceremony! We absolutely recommend this school to anyone in the area, preschool is a very important developmental stage for children and this school did a fantastic job setting our daughter up for success in K-12!

Unlike my oldest (who's now 12), my littles is one that is always up to something and getting into something, so it was important to find a place that would really have that extra special watchful eye. We saw signs for one opening soon and we met with Kelly and loved what we heard, so we signed up. We started here when they opened in late October,2022. From the start, my daughter absolutely loved it despite drop-off at the beginning not being so smooth with her. Her first teachers Colleen and Riley really helped her with becoming acclimated and comfortable with being there. This entire staff is amazing and it truly feels like they genuinely care for my child. We get daily updates on what's happening during her day and even pictures. She's learning so much and they have so much patience with her, she's quite the overactive child. She loves coming as she learns so much, always something going on. Honestly, we could not have chosen a better place... it doesn't feel like a daycare but like family is taking care of my kid. We are unfortunately leaving at the end of next month due to job relocation, and I really worry I won't find a place just as wonderful and caring as Celebree Elkridge. I don't know if I'll find the same care and attention, most important the tranquility I have knowing THEY are the ones caring for my baby, when we move and seek a new daycare school. They have an app called Tadpole, but yet the information entered is never correct. They are short-staffed every day and yet most teachers still leave at 4, so unless you can get out of work early to connect and discuss... you simply have no idea what is going on. Kids are constantly placed in rockers and chairs and are left there most of the day. The legal ratio of 3 kids to 1 teacher is rarely followed, in fact, I have seen as many as 10 kids to 2 teachers more times than I can count... We gave them sleep sacks for him to nap in each day, yet they just sat in his cubby. On more than one occasion he was left to sleep in a rocker as he was placed in a room that had no open cribs due to staff shortages... it's just not a good place to leave an infant. We started in January 2024 and there is not a single kid left in the class who was there when we started. To a child, they have all left and gone to other daycares... and now we are too. I wouldn't send my kid here if I were you. We are now 54 days past our last day and have still yet to receive our deposit back from the school. They claim its been mailed, but their by-laws state repayment will be made within 30-45 days and we are well past that... its a joke. Just find a different day care, this place is awful from the top to the bottom.

Despite this, he was given only a few days to acclimate before being sent home, briefly allowed back after a meeting, and then dismissed entirely -- without a reasonable adjustment period or meaningful accommodations. His twin sibling was allowed to remain enrolled. During one meeting, the owner, Melvise Powell, yelled at my husband and me and abruptly told us to leave her office. We also became aware that another individual appeared to be listening in via the office phone without our knowledge, which raised serious concerns under Maryland's two-party consent law. When this was pointed out, the meeting was immediately ended and we were ordered out. Additionally, our daughter later reported that an employee would pinch her when she did not nap, which we found extremely alarming and concerning. ADHD is a recognized disability under the ADA, and excluding a child without attempting reasonable accommodations -- combined with unprofessional conduct and concerning reports about staff behavior -- raises serious concerns. Based on our experience, the owner was extremely rude and unprofessional, and families should steer clear of this school!!

I can't imagine there's a better preschool in the Clarksville/Columbia area. Obviously every…read moreparent has their own list of "wants" and "needs" when shopping preschools - their own list of the features that are most important to them. Most importantly for my wife and I was to find a school where our 2-1/2 year-old would be happy, learn social skills, and would learn the fundamental skills needed to function in a classroom setting (preparation for kindergarten). It was also critical that we find a place where we would never feel guilty or apprehensive about dropping our kids off at school. We found all this and more at Hilltop. The most important things to note about Hilltop are... Small School - There are two classrooms and each one has a max of roughly 15 children. Small classes means lots of one-on-one interaction with the teachers, which any educator will tell you is extremely beneficial (especially for young children). Learning Activities - It is a school after all - so it's pretty important that they follow a really well-conceived philosophy and educational curriculum. Every day we receive notes from the teacher about what our child learned that day, sample assignments he worked on, etc. Low Staff Turnover - At other schools and daycares we've witnessed a constant churn of teacher turnover. The teachers at Hilltop have been there for years and are part of the fabric of the school. Family Atmosphere - So many families have their 2nd or 3rd children enrolled, so we've gotten to know each other and have formed great friendships. When I drop my son at Hilltop it feels like I'm leaving him with close friends/family. Credentials - Hilltop is accredited by the MD Board of Education and each teacher and staff member has all their MD creds (I'm not that familiar with all the credentials, so you'd have to check with them for more info on this). Secluded Location - While the school is right off Rt 108 in Clarksville (near the River Hill shopping center) it's also tucked away behind a Methodist church. Its location is nice for security reasons - and there's also something nice about being on a church campus. What more can I say? We are a Hilltop family and absolutely recommend this preschool to anyone trying to make the difficult decision of where to send your child for preschool.
