Andrew was super responsive and helped us with a frivolous lawsuit threat online. He didn't even charge us because he felt so strongly against these scammers preying on whoever will believe them. WARNING: Andrew is under an active malpractice lawsuit case# 25CV458058 in the santa clara county court. Here is why I filed a malpractice against andrew (2/6/25): while andrew in my opinion is a great salesman to intake the case, he screwed up my family and then civil case. In family, although I had photos and videos of other party's violence against myself and my kid, and proved her domestic violence in the trial, I lost my house, car, and everything. i honesly see andrew really incompetent. The judged ruled without jurisdiction on my property and andrew did not speak up one word to at least oppose the judge from ruling out of jurisdiction. i paid ~$70k to andrew in ~7months only for family case. He charged me thousands and thousands of dollar only for a "contempt case" which was immediately dismissed by the judge. I believe Andrew either has no experience what is taken by judges, or he is aware but just charged me to do whatever as long as it yields him money. Andrew - at the same time - had my civil case, hoping to recover my assets in civil court since we were not married. His sales pitch to take my case was "this is an offense case, than a defense case". My other party had committed several counts of fraud and breached a contract that was signed by a judge. After over 2yrs, I kept receiving interim orders from the judge and kept losing my case with notes from the judge such as "the attorney failed to..." , "the defense is empty of merit.." , "the attorney repeatedly failed to..." , "the defense is not specific...", "the responses are conclusive..." [refer to case #25CV458058 for exact phrases from the judge]. He even made up false stories and added them to my case without even telling me. He did not keep me informed of developments in my case. At some point, I saw there are several changes and active actions on my case, I wrote to andrew and asked if there are any recent changes, and his answer was negative! I believe He had no idea where my case was. Most of my valid claims are dismissed with the judge's comment "the attorney failed to...". If i was warned by similar malpractice case [case #25CV458058] i would have saved myself immediately. In my opinion Andrew is such illiterate on law, that he even does not trust himself to represent himself in his own malpractice case. He wrote to my lawyer that he will have an attorney!! doesn't he trust himself on law practices even for himself? My statements in this review are all my honest opinion. read more

It was difficult to find a lawyer for our very complicated case (property division after a divorce, including undue influence). Andrew gave us a call back and made time to meet on the same day. We presented all the information (a lot) and evidence (not much) during a free 30 min intro meeting. He accepted our case, which typically means 1) he has a potentially winning strategy in mind, and 2) he believes he can work with us (organized paperwork, reasonable discussions, funds). On the other hand, he never overpromised. Andrew was well-prepared for the trial and cornered the opposing party with embarrassing questions. If not for the Judge being slightly too gracious, naïve or inexperienced with regards to basic psychological traits of deceptive personalities, we could have won more. Still, we are happy. It was a very difficult time and Andrew was never panicky before, during, or after the trial. Also, it is noteworthy that some unused funds were returned from the retainers that were paid to Andrew's office, something that is not as common as you would think. His hourly rate is rather on the higher end of the spectrum (after reviewing about 10 lawyers in the area) but his office offers promos if you can commit quickly, which saved us a lot of money. I can now say it was a worthy investment. We won the case with a 10x return roughly. It could have been higher, but we hired him so late in the game that discovery could not be reopened to get critical pieces of evidence for our case. The judge kept denying all of our motions. We went to trial blindsided. And I think this is where Andrew excelled. For all these reasons, we'd recommend giving his office a call if you have a complicated case that pertains to family law, real estate, and unusual psychological profiles. read more

I sought Andrew's help at the eleventh hour largely because of the reviews i'd seen on Yelp, and i'm glad to report that what you see here is accurate! Though my case was not very complex or serious, it had a 2 week deadline and I wasn't entirely sure how to go about understanding it in the first place given the complexity of CA law in general. I was pleasantly surprised to know that Andrew accepted my case at all, and on top of that he'd demonstrated great professionalism with prompt responses, diligent check ins, and patience in explaining things I wasn't clear on. I'm no dummy, but i certainly felt I asked some dumb questions at time but at no point did Andrew treat those questions as such. My situation also required the help of another attorney to review, and though this would have thrown my entire case out of whack given the tight deadline, he pulled in some favors to get this resolved immediately. If you need an attorney for something, I'd highly suggest getting Andrew's help because as others have mentioned, he does not waste time and really gets things done. I have had a few experiences with attorneys in the past and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with Mr Watters service. I have been helping my fiancee with her divorce and we needed a private judge. I reached out through Yelp and Mr Watters responded immediately. He asked questions about our situation and what we were looking for. I found him proficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. He gave approximate timelines and a very competitive price and a reasonable expectation with the work he expected to put into it and what situations might cost more.  After we sent him all of the documentation he needed, he reviewed it quickly and made his requests for corrections. Throughout the question and answer period, documentation review, communications, and final filing; Mr Watters displayed outstanding customer service. This is where Mr Watters diverges from other attorneys. Other attorneys often seemed annoyed or downright condescending. Billing with other attorneys was shocking until I got used to exorbitant fees. With other attorneys, response times to emails and texts was measured in days. With Mr Watters, he'd usually respond within a few hours, and the latest maybe the next day. His billing is transparent, predictable, and fair. He got our situation handled.  I'll definitely be using him for future legal concerns. read more

I have several past lawsuits and interacted with about a dozen of attorneys. I would rate Andrew Watters last on my list. He and his associate are not litigation attorneys. They would backdown from litigating and take the easy way out by harassing their client. Don't be fooled by what they promised at consultation. They don't have the know how or could not follow through. For instance: Andrew said he would be able to recover attorney and court fees for my case. However when the meditation judge asked what provision would allow your client to recover attorney fee they have no answer for it so they dropped pursuing attorney fee against the defendant. When I didn't want to sign the settlement and told Andrew and his associate to proceed to open court, this is what Andrew emailed me: "I am sorry to inform you that, unless you sign this settlement agreement promptly, we will be unable to continue and will have to withdraw from representation." I have more stress coming from Andrew's bullying tactics than the defendant. I later found out there was another case at the courthouse and the party (my neighbor) in a similar situation won against the "same" defendant in my case on a jury trial with substantial monetary awards in addition the hardwood floor stays. Don't be fooled by their lower attorney rate (about 20% lower than most). They make up the lower rate by charging more hours (a lot more). You would end-up paying more. They charged a lot for producing standard law documents (ie discovery) which in other law firms are done by paralegals whom are more skillful in putting together documents and are 50% or more cheaper. Another attorney I hired charges about 10 to 15 minutes including consultation to write a page-length letter with excellent litigation content. Andrew and his associate charged about 1 hour for the same length of letter but their content is usually ineffective. Before sending documents they also charged more to review. They also charged for "legal research" on law they represent but lack of knowledge. I don't recommend Andrew for one bit. read more
