It did save some costs because we had completely written what we were agreeing to, but not in a form acceptable to the court. My experience with Mr. Christopher Hirz is one that I actually wish had started 3 years sooner! I was force to change representation due to poor performance, basically incompetence bordering on malpractice. My girlfriend was kind enough to help me sort thru several options thru Yelp and other social reviewing platforms. She recommended that I try 3 options and I settled on Chris after one quick meeting! We met at his office in downtown SJ for initial consult and we hit it off immediately. The office is very nice, the staff incredibly helpful and kind so it was a pretty easy choice! After our meeting, he put into place a quick plan based on my interview and we were off! I placed my retainer, provided as much new information as I could and he reviewed the rest of the information from previous counsel. Our plan was followed to a tee! The result was a total victory! I felt very strongly that my case had merit and unlike my prior attorney, he believed in me. That was the difference all along. It was never about the money, he actually refunded me half the trial retainer stating that he was going to get most of it settled at the SOC...which of course, he did! The most strategic part of our plan was to take the high road on every item possible. Don't bite on the bait and stay focused. I must say this was more difficult than I could have ever imagined! His words and logic matched by girlfriends so it was welcomed support on both ends! I am terribly hotheaded at times and dealing with the ex can be worse than dental surgery and yet he accomplished his / our goal! His preparation, detailed and concise, was key to this trial. I was dissatisfied with the services provided by Christopher Hirz. My retainer was cleaned out and a lot more in a matter of weeks without even appearing at the court once and made very little progress to the case. He had his junior attorney work hours on a supplementary form to a document that was previous filed with the court. The supplemental form never got filed with the court and ended up being the most expensive, unproductive piece of document. He was very opinionated about how he wanted the case to progress and I didn't feel peace about it. I felt that I was going to lose even before we appeared at the court. This is just my opinion. I was most impressed by how Chris Hirz can process info like a computer - fast and accurate. During the 1st appointment he scanned through a thick stack of my MSA papers done by another firm, and spotted the critical sentence regarding attorney fees, which was obviously neglected by my husband's lawyer, who initially participated in creating the MSA. Lawyers charge by time, fast info processing saves legal cost. My legal fee to Chris was less than that of my husband's fee to his lawyer even though his lawyer's hourly rate is lower than that of Chris.
