I had called a week in advance to order a very large order for my office. The man who answered the phone and took my order (unfortunately I didn't get a name) was very sweet and helpful with making sure everything was correctly ordered. I ordered some of their specialty donuts, as well as the colorful letters and everyone LOVED them!! Oh yeah I am a fan. After reading all these Great reviews and looking at their pictures I couldn't resist but making a stop here. Conveniently it is very close to my little boys favorite indoor playground so I made a quick stop in the morning. Although we came at 9am they were already out of their favorite items. But I was still able to score some of their yummy kolaches and donuts. We got their spinach feta croissant, ham and cheese croissant, specialty donuts (beautifully decorated for easter!!), glazed donuts and cinnamon sugar donuts. And of course their cheese Hot Dog kolaches. For a dozen donuts it's 14.99$! I think I ordered way too many donuts and bread but every time I'm at a family owned donuts place I wanna try everything!!! As soon as we can home I tried some of their yum mines and I was not disappointed. The donuts were soft and perfectly glazed and even though I just munched down a calorie bomb I didn't feel like I ate something overly sweet and greasy. It just tasted great (the right amount of sweetness, still soft on the inside and not too greasy). It will go well with your morning coffee or tea. Trust me! read more

I rarely if ever really post on yelp but if it seems important I will. And this seems important. If you're looking for a good donut shop. Don't go here. I went to enjoy some sweets with my boyfriend in the morning before our plans, and we got a couple dozen of donut holes. The service was quick and they had them pre bagged by the dozen, which would be a nice touch if they weren't stiffing us. Both of our bags were missing some and if it weren't for the fact i impatiently left because I was ready to devour them, we could have been able to say something and actually gotten our 2 dozen I paid for. But I will not be returning. It definitely seems intentional to short peoples bags because they hope we don't sit and count them. Very friendly good neighborhood donut shop. I take my kids here every Sunday morning. I'm a big fan of the kimchi kolaches and their breakfast croissants including the spinach feta. Deducting one star because I got a bear claw which wasn't cooked thoroughly on the inside and my wife said she got a spinach feta croissant which wasn't cooked throughly once. Other than that, I've had very good experiences with this place. Yes it's a bit expensive and a touch higher end but it's on par with the neighborhood. read more

Great donuts - the yeast and cake. Im a fan of their devils food cake and choclate frosted yeast. Also tried their turkey, cheese croissant OMG! I would forgo a donut for one of these and coffee. I usually split food with my dog and she barely got the last bite, after whining, taking two paws with nails to the thigh (ouch!) and a WTF look. I took 3 dozen for my niece's pajama party and came back the next day craving. They were a hit at the party. But alas, everyone at the party in Southlake was sad to hear this place is in Allen. Haha. I bought the donuts at 1pm and the party started at 730pm. My sister said they were fresh and tasty. She's a dragon mother about her kids sugar intake, so when I went the next day after the party and got a dozen, I hid the box because she doesnt appreciate having a Mommy Dearest moment (no more wire hangers/sugar). She randomly showed up with kids in tow asking if I wanted get coffee and use my WiFi. I said she's too late and I have D-O-N-U-T-S (we spell everything we don't want her 4 & 5 yo to know about. Mommy Dearest straight up asked for the box in front of kids and ate 2. Damn, LOL She let the kids have one each. As soon as I came in I just felt a bit rushed... you know when you have eyes starring at you wondering why you are not ready yet? Didn't get a chance to look at their menu or what they offered in the case. So I just went with a dozen donut holes and a sausage and cheese kolache. All of this for under $3.The donut holes were light and the glaze just right and not overly sweet. The kolache was good but very small in size. I wanted a bigger one but I didn't see if they offered them nor did the ladies suggest them. I may stop by again on my way to get on 75. read more

This shop has quickly become my go-to donut shop. I've stopped by a couple times on the weekends, usually around 11. Even that late in the morning they've had quite a decent selection (note they close at noon) and the donuts taste so great! They make their donuts fresh, and the taste makes that clear. Their glazed are soft, melt in your mouth treasures with really yummy icing. They usually have lots of fun toppings to choose from too. Their cake donuts are also incredible. On the weekends they have red velvet--I highly recommend, super delicious. I love their devil's food cake donuts because unlike many shops, you don't get a hint of blueberry flavor from the previous batch! Just a delicious, rich chocolate. This morning I stopped by around 7:30am and was able to get 4 dozen glazed donuts boxed and out the door in just a few minutes, without even calling in! Moved to Allen recently and was on a mission to find a good donut place. Luckily, this shop is only two minutes away because it is now our favorite donut place! We love how fluffy and light the donut and donut holes taste. It's so soft and delicious! We also love the different varieties of kolaches (my personal fave are the croissant ones). Love this little shop! Owners already know me and always offer me a free donut or give me 10 extra donut holes when I only order $3 worth of donuts/kolaches. They make an effort to know each customer and remember what I order from the previous visit. There's a new place fancy donut/biscuit shop called Rise across the street, but they have nothing on this little mom and pop donut shop. When I enter Watters Donuts, I am always greeted with a smiling face. As another reviewer pointed out, it might be the owners or their children. Regardless, I get great service. They remember me and my kids, and know exactly what we order. That is personalized service you won't get from a chain. I am sorry that the other reviewer seems to want someone 20+ in a uniform dishing out their donuts, but this is a family business. I am proud that the owners are instilling the value of hard work in their kids, and the owners should be, too. Most importantly, the product is always fresh and tasty. Even the other 1 star reviewer admitted that (how can you give 1 star when the product is good?!?). At the end of the day, what else do you need? Interesting..have you Yelpers in Dallas noticed how now in each strip mall development there is a popup donut shop..I have been here now at least three times.The last two times were a joke--i arrived between 9 and 9:30a,m as of today actually. with a sleuth of other customers behind me expecting a variety of AVAILABLE donuts.Serving you today will be a ten year old and her mother noone else there.Granted the shop is small,donuts are tasty--how can they not be..duh! Storefront hours 6am-12noon I believe.. Guess what no donuts at 9a,m. and they close at 12 noon-what the hay-so I have to be there at 6am to buy donuts from a place that only produces donuts! Owner explanation--"oh my baker gone for the day this is all we have-what you like--her exact words".. Stopped in this morning on the way to work for a quick donut or two around 9 am -- the donut case looked pretty bare. No maple bars. For me, no maple bars = no donuts. So, I left with my tail between my legs. This isn't the first time this has happened as of late.. and I'm not sure what they do between 9 and noon when they close. What a great place. Management is so sweet. I used to go there when my kids were going to emler for swimming and I still drive 15 minutes to get donuts from here. Coz there donuts are just fabulous.
