They were sent my mother's medical records before her first visit. She was told they may be able to do extractions then. I understand the Dr saying she will need to come back as she had too many teeth that needed to be extracted. He told us she would be his first patient in a week and the first appointment of the day. We were given her prep instructions. We showed up the next week . My mom needs to be transported in a van as she is in a wheelchair. We get there and they do not have her on the schedule at all plus she was never pre authorized with her insurance. WHAT! So sent home again. Another month gone by and I call the week before and make sure she is authorized and her appointment time. All is good. See you next week! We show up. Fill out surgery forms. Taken back to the surgery suite. At this time they tell us she needs more lab work and the Dr does not want to work on her until then. Why the heck didn't they figure this out 2 months prior and before after 3 times of not eating after midnight, getting up at the crack of dawn and having to get transported. Again, if it was just me I could handle it, but my mom is 89 and this has been a nightmare. We will not return

The front office staff could use some customer service training. I don't think I've been there once when we've been called back on time (twice has been over an hour wait) which is a waste of both the patients and the parents time. Additionally, I've been lied to about confirming appointments. Instead of owning a mistake, they blame their system which "cancels" the appointment. Then when you call the main switch, they claim it is the members responsibility to confirm at least 24 hours in advance. If you require a hard confirmation, then begin 3 days prior to the appt and calling multiple days. Lying about a single call abysmal customer service. Additionally, please do not build in the 15 minutes for paperwork into the appointment time given to patients. It would be far easier if the paperwork was given when the person signs in, instead of waiting 15-20 minutes later for it, then continuing to wait. Please consider completing a continuous process improvement on your check in as the system that is currently used is broken. Each appointment I've been to, I've waited about 20-30 minutes from arrival to completing paperwork, then only being called back to pay for the visit. As an aside, if I've prepaid before the actual work is done, there is a chance that the services/surfaces will have changed which will adjust the fees. Pre-paying implies that you do not trust the customer which is embarrassing. After paying, it still takes another 15-30 minutes for the actual appointment visit to begin. Ultimately I've wasted on average two hours for an hour appointment. It is rather frustrating. Please take a moment to reconsider the business model, you'll end up being more successful if you treat your patients with respect.

For most of my life, I struggled with receding gums on my lower front teeth. Since the early 1980s,…read moreI endured sensitivity in that area, regular cleanings, and constant worry as the root of my tooth became more visible. Despite decades of dental visits every three months, not a single dentist or hygienist ever suggested there might be a real fix for the problem. I was originally referred to Gulf Coast Periodontics & Implants because of a pocket that had developed under the gums at the rear of my mouth. The staff recommended a scaling procedure for that area. It required Novocain and was much more intense than a standard cleaning, but the results were amazing. My mouth had never felt so clean, and the hygienist's skill impressed me so much that I actually started flossing regularly for the first time. Even more remarkable was Dr. Sweidan's observation of my receding gum line at the front. To my surprise, he told me it could be corrected with a graft--something I had resigned myself to living with for life. I went forward with the procedure, and while the two weeks of recovery required some adjustments with eating and cleaning, the results were absolutely worth it. A month later, my mouth feels healthy and strong, and I could not be happier with the outcome. From start to finish--front desk, billing, hygienists, and Dr. Sweidan himself--everyone I encountered at Gulf Coast Periodontics & Implants went above and beyond. My dental insurance only covered a small portion, but honestly, even if I had paid the full cost out of pocket, it would have been worth every penny. I am truly astounded that after decades of cleanings and consultations, no one had ever mentioned that my issue had a solution until now. I will be recommending this office to every dentist and hygienist I see in the future, and I encourage anyone with gum concerns to visit Gulf Coast Periodontics & Implants. Dr. Sweidan and his team are outstanding, and I could not be more pleased with the care I received.
