You can wander at look at the lights and there's also occasional classic Chinese arts performances to enjoy. We didn't try any of the food but near the performance area there were several vendors offering a variety of food to purchase and dining tables where you can sit and enjoy (very much food court style vibe). One thing I will note: where we were directed to part required traversing very uneven ground. Not a problem for my husband and I but was glad my parents opted to stay home as I think they would have found it difficult. If that's the case for you as well, my suggestion would be to inquire about any sort of accessible parking. Beyond that, a wonderful time. We don't go every single year but when we do go, we so enjoy! Get to it!

They had a number of good truck options to choose from. Even some sweets and snacks from Nothing Bundt Cakes and Pop's Kettle Corn. We opted for the brats and bierocks along with some Oktoberfest beers and it was all great! You do have to purchase tickets for alcohol and pretzels but the lines weren't too bad. They did pre-pour the beers which most events have been doing lately. Hate getting a stale and slightly warm beer, especially for $7. They also did some community outreach with the first responders in the area and were offering tours of the ambulances and showing the rigs and stuff. Last but certainly not least, the live music was great. They did a mix of German with some modern songs.

My 2 year old was more interested in the existing playground equipment on site but enjoyed the music, mascots, popcorn and frozen yogurt. Worth a look!

You had to bring your own lawn chair, and no outside food or drink was allowed on the grounds. Ares were first come, first serve. The prices most vendors were asking were very reasonable. Example...Hamburger, chips and a drink for $10 a person. If you wanted pizza, Pizza Ranch was providing their own brand. Kind of steep. Anyway, I believe a little bit more planning as far as "crowd control" should have been contemplated. The concert was enjoyable!

Ok only because of it's new home and it needs to settle in…read more Bockbierfest, if you recall, used to be held at Hart Park in Wauwatosa. I'm not privy to the reason for the move, but they have now moved the fest out to Lake Country. The parking is very minimal, meaning that the parking lot of it's new "home" isn't very large. There is plenty of street parking, but you may be walking a ways, depending on how busy it is when you get there. The entrance isn't well marked. You think you can enter off the road, but then you notice that the yard is fenced off, and you need to walk to the back of the building to get in. The building is a little smaller than the previous venue, so there are less tables, and more crowds standing around blocking aisles. The food is back in it's own room with a huge entrance, but it is out of the way of everything else, which is nice. The bar is off to the right of the food entrance and is decently sized to accommodate quite a few people at once. As I said, this is still a fairly new venue for this fest, so it is still settling in to it's new digs, but it'll get there. And, it's a good time, especially if you've been missing the Gemütlichkeit that Germanfest and Oktoberfest dish out abundantly. 28/2024

The walk is a mile long - the lights were pretty well spaced out - no dead spaces! The walking trail isn't gravel but dirt I think, it was kind of bumpy and definitely would work better if you have a stroller or wagon that has wheels better for off roading!

Was surprised how quickly the line moved as it looked intimidating when we arrived the lights are fun and I personally love the light tunnel but I think the inside stuff was my grandsons favorite. I think he could have spent a couple hours watching the trains and the singing racoons.
