Docks are in fair condition and there is shore power and water at the slips. They do not sell fuel or pump out, but a marina close by provides these services. Transient slip prices were fair. Not much of a store on site, but they do sell ice. It is only a short walk into town where boaters/cruisers can find plenty of stores to purchase groceries and otherwise provision. Only one employee seems to be on duty at any given time. The marina did not answer their VHF radio but they did answer the phone as we entered the harbor in the pouring rain and someone did come out to greet us and assist with docking. Outdated washroom on site - we preferred to shower in our boat. No laundry facilities. The marina is pretty basic, but worth the stay as the town of Picton is worth the visit. I was turned off at the response I got from the marina attendant while paying for our transient slip upon our arrival. The weather forecast for the following morning was calling for heavy rains in the morning but promising clear skies in the early afternoon. After having noticed many vacant slips, I asked how strict they are on there check out policy - we would have liked to stay an additional hour or so until the rains were expected to stop the following day, before continuing on our cruise. I was told we must be out of the slip at check out time or be charged another night. I could understand that if the marina was booked, but there must have been at least 10 slips available. We made our way out in the rain the next morning, which stopped about an hour later. I would stay here again but without wild expectations.

The lists of pros is too long to write, but let's mention a few. Let's start with the price: so inexpensive for the class of marina and for all that they provide. Fuel and pump out services. Brand new floating docks with lots of cleats and plenty of posts for electric (they have 30 and 50 Amps) and water. Very friendly and efficient service: at the office, at the fuel dock, the dock hands, etc. The best WiFi of any marina. Great security, with gates to the docks that open with an electronic card. Clean everywhere: the grounds, the facilities, the docks, etc. Beautiful manicured grounds with an herb garden for boaters to help themselves. Propane grills for the boaters to use with several picnic tables on the grounds. Gorgeous building with all you need to fill at home: lobby with TV, small restaurant with the best ice cream Kawartha, small bar. Large laundry room with new machines and it is complimentary (no marina gives you complimentary laundry) plus they supply you with soap and dryer sheets. The best showers of any marina: 10 individual rooms, each with toilet, sink, vanity and a large and wide shower. Very clean!!!!! The Marina has a good location as there is a 2 block walk into town, where you can find everything you need: grocery stores, liquor store, pharmacy, restaurants, Dollar store, etc. Also right in front of the marina there is the city hall and the library.

I forgot the keys and battery and they still made it happen.. its days before Christmas and weather man is calling for possible feet of lake effect snow. Here I am again could not make time to cover the boat.. AGAIN they saved the day took my boat out of a frozen ditch to get it shrink wrapped and even serviced the out drive I've been neglecting. I admit I should not be so last minute with everything I do. No one should ever ask or even expect anyone to return a call when you call last minute the way I did. These people truly care. There wonderful to deal with. Darren should get the key to the damn city for being such an awesome person. They even allow boaters to park their campers there for a weekend stay at $15 a night. On site they have a little house with three full service bathrooms. Only members get the code to get into two but the third is open to the public. There are so many docks and spots for boaters to rent a spot. The parking lot is nice and large to park for the day and even for friends to park while spending the day on the water. Great marina overall!
