Yvonne from Wax & Glow is super sweet and fun to talk to. She is also very professional and experienced. I have never gotten waxed there so I can't speak to that but I did get a series of 4 peels which were amazing. It was such a treat getting to basically get a mini-facial once a week for four weeks and my skin looked fabulous after the series. It's in a very convenient location in Mission Hills but as a tip, it's on the second floor with an outside entrance and you can't see it from the street. Absolutely a great experience. She used a combination of hard and soft wax, which I loved. I hadn't been waxed since before covid and what could have been really painful, wasn't that bad. She had numbing gel as well. She always uses pressure when needed to make it more tolerable. I came to Yvonne a few months ago, and I was impressed from start to finish. She is extremely knowledgeable, giving me information on what she was doing from start to finish. She probably is very good at waxing, but it is difficult to make an appointment with her. I showed up twice to the studio but no one was there. I would recommend maybe having an administrator or a website to help make appointments and keep track of them to help both client and her. read more

I shouldn't even give this place or individual one star. I purchased a groupon, contacted Yvonne by calling her to schedule an appointment, no answer. Her voicemail did state she accepts text messages. So I figured, hey, I'll shoot her a text to schedule an appointment. Well that didn't get me an appointment. Instead of going back and forth through text messages to schedule an appointment, pick up the phone and call. Even then, I gave her my availability and she never resounded. Terrible customer service. Yvonne is AMAZING! I first came across Wax & Glow when I got a Groupon. I am SO happy I did! She makes what can be an uncomfortable experience much more bearable! If you're prone to talking to forget the pain, she's a great conversationalist but will adjust to your level of talkativeness I'm sure! She is also very knowledgeable and very reasonably priced on top if it! Where I used to have funky patches of regrowth and dreaded the weeks between waxing, she got me on a very maintainable schedule and the regrowth is actually much improved (where I don't feel embarrassed between waxing anymore!). She's the only esthetician I've met who rewards you for your loyalty via extremely reasonable pricing and "bundling" services! I highly recommend her for all of your waxing needs!
