Never gotten a Brazilian before this and they did so good! I opted in for the extra care package ($10 for witch hazel between strips) and I think it helped ease the process! Unfortunately, I hate doing negative reviews but I hate my time being wasted as well. Schedule an appointment this morning 1240 was running 5 to 6 minutes late contacted the store told them that I was running late. They said no problem arrived at 12:46 and was told that since I am late, I need to reschedule. I just drove 25 minutes from East County for this appointment only to be turned away for being 6 minutes away and the store is completely empty. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Definitely will not recommend to anyone. This place has completely went downhill. read more

I've been going here for over 4 years (since September 2021) and this place has completely gone downhill the last 7 months. Around that time (7 months ago) I came in 10 minutes late (very pregnant) to my appointment and they told me they couldn't honor the service and I had to reschedule. I'm normally never late for my appointments but I mistakenly messed up the time thinking it was a 12:30pm appointment but it was actually a 12:20pm appointment. I apologized and rescheduled but had to see a different waxer. No biggy, my fault. Fast forward to today. I scheduled a 1:40pm appointment. I arrived early (1:22pm) with my 6 month old. My husband and I have since moved so we no longer live 10 minutes away from this location. Neither of us have family here and he couldn't watch him because he works full time and had meetings all day. I go back to work full time Monday 1/12/26 so naturally I wanted to get waxed before I start working 12.5 hour shifts again. Today was the only day and time that worked for me because my son has doctor's appointments and I have errands I need to run before I start working again. I drove 45 minutes to this location because it's the only one they have in San Diego. When I arrived my son was in a stroller (asleep) and not crying. The woman at the front said he wasn't allowed to go back and I'd need someone to come to the location to watch him while I get waxed. Which also didn't make sense to me because last time they canceled my appointment because I was 10 minutes late. So how would someone driving to the appointment of made sense? I would have been sitting there forever waiting. In addition, I don't have anyone here to watch him, which is why I ended up bringing him in the first place. I understand it's not ideal and I wouldn't have brought him if I had a different option but clearly I didn't. It never takes them more than 10 minutes to wax me. She asked me to reschedule without him. I told her I couldn't because I wasn't going to drive 45 minutes there and back a second time in one day. She was rude and said bringing him back in the room while I get waxed is a liability for them. I asked her how it was liability if he would just be sitting in the corner of the room in his stroller asleep for 10 minutes while I got waxed? She said it's "their policy that no one is allowed in the room." IT'S A BABY NOT AN ADULT. I will NEVER go to another Pretty Kitty and I'll be sure to share this experience with everyone I know. Overall terrible experience and they are unprofessional. I never thought in a million years I'd be made to feel bad for having a baby but they've done it. My postpartum self needed that when I went somewhere to do self care and feel good about my body again. Thank you Pretty Kitty of Mission Valley. read more

I've only had a Brazilian wax once many years ago and had a BAD experience. Decided to try one more time and choose The Pretty Kitty. My husband and I were walking by, so I figured I would drop in and ask some questions and set an appointment. They had time right then to get me in! So fortuitus. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped me because she was amazing. She took her time, explained things, and managed my nervousness expertly. The office was clean and comfortable. They take you into an individual room with a medical spa treatment table that is covered with a disposable sheet. There are wet wipes and hand sanitizer in the room, so you can freshen up before and after. Never thought I would be comfortable with my legs like a "butterfly" and someone poking around down there but there we were...Next appointment is already on the books! read more

The people were kinda rude. I wouldn't go again. My first wax was with them and they were really nice but once the second time that I went was really bad experience. But wonderful decoration that they have. Also they didn't let my mom come in to the room since there wasn't space. But as a young teenager a mother looks out the there children and a mom always has to have vigile them since the pretty kitty rooms are a private and a closed door. read more

This review is primarily for Shakyra. I have visited Pretty Kitty several times and many locations. My first was actually out in Vegas, they took great care of me there and never made me feel self conscious. I'm a Latina and, embarrassing to admit, can get pretty hairy. I moved to San Diego and was relieved to find a Pretty Kitty down the street from my apartment in Mission Valley but was not at all the same experience I had with my girls out in Vegas. I felt pricing was never consistent and made me feel weird for being "picky" about my Brazilian. I felt they overcharged me a few times because I refused to leave with my "back strip" not done. Anyway, I stopped going to Pretty Kitty because of this and moved down to Chula Vista and ventured off to other places. In a rush and just looking for a place to take care of my Brazilian I took a chance at another Pretty Kitty location down in Chula Vista and that's where I ran into Shakyra! She was such a pleasure and made me feel so much at ease. She was extremely thorough and never made me feel like I was being a nag or a bother about being overly picky about my waxing. Since the Chula Vista location closed I now make the drive up to Mission Valley for Shakyra. Such a bad vibe! My waxer made me so uncomfortable, even after I left her know it was my first time getting a brazilian wax.
