I have the 90s cigarette mom brows now! It looks awful on my face. The past couple of times I've also had waxers who wax over the same brow area 2-3 times and it wrecks my sensitive skin. I'm no expert but I know this is a no-no for your skin. My last visit the waxer was complaining the entire time about the other waxers and how dirty they left the rooms (yikes?) This visit my waxer was very nice, I just don't like the results. They've also started such aggressive upselling even after you say no. Last time the front desk lady was literally so rude to me after I said I wanted to wait to rebook. This time at least it was a different lady and she was nice but 3-4 different offers after I say no is a lot. $36 for brows I just gotta wait to grow out again right before the holidays is a lot. I'm headed back to Elixir I guess -- also expensive and slower service and more chatty which isn't my fave, but I feel like my brows look okay when I leave.

She did not care about helping me and when she started walking me through rescheduling it was like pulling teeth trying to have her list available times. It felt as though I was the inconvenience to her. I'm relieved that I didn't end up getting services here and I will look to my other locations I frequent in the future. I've always had great experiences at European Wax and I've been to many in several states that were wonderful, but this receptionist is bad for the brand. Will never come to this location again.

During my appointment, the lash tech mentioned that my natural lashes were thin and offered to sell me a lash serum. I completely understand that my lashes are thin--that is actually one of the main reasons I get lash extensions in the first place. However, what caught me off guard was when she told me, "Your lashes are very thin, and I don't think I can do lash extensions next time." I have been getting lash extensions for the past 20 years and, in all that time, I have never been told by a lash technician that I would no longer be able to get extensions simply because my natural lashes were thin. I understand that lash health is important and that a technician may have concerns about the condition of someone's natural lashes, but the way this was presented left me feeling discouraged and confused. Perhaps there was a genuine concern about the health of my lashes, and if so, I would have appreciated a more thorough explanation and guidance about what specifically she was seeing and why she felt extensions might not be appropriate going forward. Instead, the comment felt a little surprising, especially after being offered a lash serum because of the thinness of my lashes. Overall, the salon was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the lash tech was very courteous. I truly wanted this experience to be a great one, which is why I was disappointed that I left feeling uncertain about returning. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because the salon has many positive qualities--I just think better communication and explanation regarding concerns about a client's natural lashes would make the experience much better.

I used to go to the Pretty Kitty religiously every 6 weeks for the first year they were open at this location. ( I was even asked to be part of training once and got a free brazillian, woohoo!) I stopped going about 8 months ago because I decided it was finally time to try lazer. After 6 super painful sessions I have less hair but still wasn't bald as anyone who has tried lazer knows. So after shaving for a couple months I decided to get waxed again. I will have to admit that I was worried about the pain and even more worried when i walked in that none of the faces looked familiar (I don't know why I was expecting a welcome back party, LOL ). Well all of my worries were put to rest when the wax started! My waxer (soo sorry I can't remember her name but she said she was the manager ) was professional, funny and made the wax almost painless. I swear, ALMOST painless! Way less painful than lazer and I walked out with no hair :) I probably won't need to come in every 6 weeks anymore but when I do need to get waxed I will only go to the pretty Kitty. read more

All the girls are great here! I don't have one I schedule with all the time because I've never had a poor experience with any of the waxers. I had Lashay (sorry if I'm misspelling your name!) last time and she was awesome! They are friendly, quick, and have a technique that makes the waxing experience as painless as can be. Don't be the girl I used to be and only wax during summer or for an upcoming vacation or event and shave in between! I continued to go and my bikini line barely grows back in AND takes a while to grow back...unlike shaving, which not only comes back so quickly, at least for me, but you also have the razor bumps, ingrown hairs, etc. The girls there told me about the dry brush to exfoliate and that has also been a game changer! They also charge a fair price, in comparison to other waxing salons. read more

I've been going to the Pretty Kitty for many years different locations. Mission Valley is not close to home but the service was good. Lately it hasn't been the same and not meeting it's expectations. Especially for the increase in price the ladies I've had lately are rushing and no touch up or caring to check the work. I've had different outcome with the ending results. Just wish it would go back to customer care and taking time to check areas. Maybe next time will be better. I'll give another shot and go from there. read more

I looked pretty extensively on Yelp to find a good business for my first Brazilian. I trusted the reviews here and booked an appt with Courtney.....and she went beyond expectation! Very nice and made you instantly comfortable but also straight shooter when she tells you the process of how it's going to go down; which I truly appreciated (b/c there's no need to hype up getting an intense waxing down there!) The fear of getting my private parts waxed is definitely overwhelming. My mom is a manicurist but she also does waxing; and I had her waxed me once.... Well that was awkward.
