My daughter's case is a complex one, to give you a summary: she was diagnosed with ADHD,OCD, ODD and behavior problems. The Public school was indifferent and had no answers or care for her. Never gave me receipt for the "extra documents he fax or copy " I should've known it wasn't correct . I needed help because the board of ed placement for my son was not appropriate for him but thanks to this guys that did an awful writing due process complaint it went no where a whole year and when he drop my case because I got upset that he wouldn't return my calls or answer my questions and that my case was going no where for 7 months he got upset that I said he hasn't done nothing to help my son he hung up and demanded an apology and block my number . No one wanted to take my case because what he started wasn't worrying correctly I have a letter from a firm that wanted to help me but explain that they couldn't help because of what this "advocate " did . I have recently moved to the US with my wife and our 8-years old boy who is in the autistic spectrum with apraxia. I need to give my position briefly regarding the parent Arieli Ibarra. We were able to get a pendency non-public school placement at the pendency hearing. I told the parent it would be difficult to find a private school in September/October 2015 once the school year began. Mia Joshi from Educational Advocate FOCUS-NICH Program including the parent and myself worked for 6 months trying to find a pendency private school placement. At the end of the day no private schools would accept her son. We all have exchanged over 300 emails and over 100 phone calls. I emailed Arieli Ibarra many times explaining it was not appropriate keeping her son home from school when it became apparent finding a private school was not going to happen for the 2015/2016 school year. Mr Rock ( special advocate for parents with a child in school districts for special education ) This man is God sent for my son and l. He attended IEP meeting with me for my son in the copiague public school district. As a parent, l attend this meetings alone and mostly the outcome becomes very frustrating and upsetting because the school board denies help for my child based on their medical diagnosis even if it could help your child. They either say that your child doesn't qualify or plain word 'NO'. Mr Rock help me to approved few things to help my son.
