In my opinion this is one of the most poorly run operations of any kind I've ever dealt with. I had an annual cancer test scheduled for this morning. It's a surgical procedure for which I need to be put under anesthesia. It was scheduled weeks ago and I asked for the first available appointment as I don' t do well with fasting and from prior experience, I know this place gets backed up. Despite this I get offered 10:30 am and made the mistake of taking that. We arrive early, immediately are asked for copay and insurance and ID card, sign all the standard forms and then told to have a seat someone will be right with us. After almost an hour, my wife asks for an update and we are told it's going to be at least 2 hours. Yes, that's right at least 2 more hours. We asked why wouldn't they have called us ahead of time and offered the option to reschedule, especially given that we live 40 minutes from the center. Or at a minimum, why would the person who checked us in say someone will be right with you when you would think they obviously had to know there was a delay. They didn't. The people who check you in were sitting there chatting with each other, ordering their lunch, doing everything but monitoring the schedule as when we asked why all this happened we were told the front desk wouldn't know about a delay unless they checked into it. So they seem to be able to call me before my procedure, confirm I'm coming, ask that I bring my copay and ID, but the day of the procedure can't seem to give you the courtesy of a call to advise that you are likely going to be spending a good portion of the day waiting there. This is not the first time this has happened. Almost the same exact thing occurred last time.
So we let the front desk know today that we were leaving. No one says, sorry, we apologize for that, or how about here is your copay refund. I had to ask and they couldn't seem to figure that out either. The woman helping us left us standing by the desk for several more minutes while she looked into it and finally we walked out. I'll dispute the charge with my credit card company and put my health insurance company on notice that no services other than frustrating the you know what out of me were performed.
I will not go back to this facility again even if that means I have to find another doctor. read more
