I had a cough for several days and I thought it was allergies until I started hearing crackling and rattling sounds when I layed down. I went to AFC urgent care in lyndhurst.  What a waste of money! I wish I could get a refund for my $75 copay.  I clearly discussed my symptoms with the doctor.  I had a cough, fever, aches in my thighs, and I explained the crackling sounds when I lay down. I also told her that 10+ years ago I had bronchitis and another time I had a pneumonia.  Using the stethoscope she reassured me that my lungs were clear. (No xray) She said I had allergies and prescribed an allergy medication. After that visit I did not feel any better. In fact I felt worse. Two days later I went to my primary physician and he immediately heard the rattling sounds in my lungs and detected a pneumonia and sent me for Xrays. I got my results and my primary physician was right. He prescribed antibiotics, prednisone, and a cough medicine. Misdiagnosing a patient is unacceptable. I am not happy with AFC. Although I've moved from the immediate area, I still choose to come to this urgent care because of the convenient hours, cleanliness, and friendly staff. Today, I want to give a special shout-out to Amy, who went above and beyond during my visit. No bloodwork to rule out other conditions. I went there because it was a Sunday, but will schedule an appointment with my internist tomorrow. I decided to try this local Urgent Care for a Rapid Covid test. Regardless of the fact that they are in the Shop Rite shopping center, they have their own separate parking area which translates to smooth parking. I was able to fill out all the paperwork online and it showed me how many people were in line ahead of me. I live in the next town over and by the time I got in my car and drove there, I was the next one up. There was no paperwork to fill out once there and I uploaded the images of my insurance card and driver's license prior to arriving as well. I waited a total of three minutes once I physically entered the building. Ten minutes later I received an email with my results in addition to receiving a followup phone call as well. Yesterday afternoon I suffered a fall in my house, resulting in a cut to my shin that just would NOT stop bleeding. My PCP is located at First Care, but they are closed on Saturday. I called my sons who came to the house and insisted I stop trying to stem the bleeding myself and go to the Urgent Care located near the Shop Rite in Lyndhurst. Dr. Wynn applied two sutures and what he called "glue" and wrapped my lower leg. I am to return in ten days to have the stitches removed. He also prescribed an antibiotic. I ran into AFC in Lyndhurst for a urine test on 6/30/23. was in and out within 30 minutes. doctor said he was sending it out for a culture. Got a voicemail today 7/3/23 saying my results were in and to call back for the results. I called and was told "the girls in the lab in the back" had to call me back. After 3 1/2 hours and no calEd back so I called again. The receptionist was very nice and was able to get basic information for me. When I asked for an explanation I was told she needed to transfer me to the "girls in the back". Someone picks up and before putting the phone to their mouth says "what the f..k does she want". Then she doesn't say anything as I keep saying hello. I hung up and called back and voiced my opinion. I will never step foot in there again and now I have no clue what my exact results were. My 5 start review is given to AFC after my horrible visit to CityMD. AFC Urgent Care let's you get on line at home. You cam also register online. A message is sent to you when you should head to the facility. Once you get the a very profesional and caring receptionist takes your name and your copay. 5 minutes later you are taken into a room and the person who takes you in proceeds to get the information about your visit. The dr. comes in 2 minutes later. Notice I say the DR. not THE PROVIDER. I needed X-rays the technician came in right away my expectations for the report time were set , 15 minutes. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Great profesional and caring service. Please do not go to CitiMD if you value your time and you want a profesional service. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO HERE! I came in with one issue and left with a whole slew of new ones! They insisted on a COVID test, completely unrelated to my reason for being there. Only eight minutes later, I'm hit with a positive result. They handed me a boatload of unnecessary meds. PLUS AN X-ray! The RN didn't even bother to ask about my concerns or check me. She just checked my lungs and jumped to ordering an X-ray. Despite me confirming a negative COVID test that very morning! I retested at home, negative. My regular doctor confirmed it, also negative. I have no idea what's happening there, but it's far from good! Then, when I dared to call and ask for a manager, the receptionist had the nerve to suggest I rate them one star, insisting no one would bother to call me back. As of today I've called at least 8 times. Today I was on hold for 12 minutes. Hung up, tried calling back and went right to music. Ive just moved to the area and this is my first time using this location. 3-4 hour wait for a COVID. They make everyone wait in line outside, regardless of weather. What they dont tell u is the 3-4 hour wait time is to get on the list to get tested. Then they tell u to wait in ur car for about 2 hours then they'll call u to come in for the test. Except, they forget to call u while ur in ur car waiting. Waited another 3 hours in the car for the phone call. Finally got fed up and walked inside, they said they had forgotten to call me and proceeded to take me right in for a test. How do u have people waiting outside in almost freezing temps while potentially suffering flu like symptoms? Makes zero sense...horrible experience. I like how you can schedule your Covid test appointment online. They notify with a text message to let you if they're ready for you. Pretty neat. Doctor and nurses answer your questions and don't rush you if you plan to see the doctor. Front desk was nice and helpful. Love the protocol here and are very cautious. read more

I have been coming to this facility for years, since they first opened in my town. I went in today for a follow up sick visit to test for strep as a result of the doctor not doing it during my first visit a few days ago. During my visit, I was spoken to very rudely by the the doctor. The doctor then proceeded to roll his eyes at me when I shared with him that I did not feel comfortable taking high dosage antibiotics unless I truly needed to. I felt that this was very unprofessional and I walked out very upset and unsatisfied with my visit. Although the front desk staff is very kind and helpful, I will not be returning to AFC in Lyndhurst after that experience. read more

I'm torn. I had one great visit with a doctor who took great care of me. Also, They've been great with the Covid tests. I'm uninsured. I pay out of pocket. My experience with the first doctor was so great I decided to keep going. My last doctor was horrible. He was super dismissive. Blamed my symptoms on a hangover because I was at a party two days prior. I'm not an excessive drinker, if anything, I don't drink. I had been bed ridden for 2 days before I made it to that urgent care. Needless to say I still ended up having to go to the hospital the next day because I OBVIOUSLY wasn't hungover. After the hospital I was in bed another 3 days. Still unable to eat and Throwing up vile. Lost 11 pounds that week. Wasted my money. My time. Well I can't say they save my life but I got cut on metal in the yard and that happen also 8 years ago and because I did noting then I ended up with a case of Bell's Palsy and it was miserable. I had half a smile, had to eat with a straw else my food would dribble out and I looked creepy to women. Well at least today most of that has changed after treatment. So I don't play no more and I went to one of our local Emergency Medical care places to get taken care of, and real pronto. What I like about this place is you can make an appointment online and fill in all your info before you get there. I just think it's ridiculous to fill out forms in the Doctor's office when your there in an emergency. My Dr. Lady said I don't need to stitches, morphine or a new tetanus shot since my last one is still good so a little alcohol swipe, iodine and a Hello Kitty bandage I was good to go. read more

I had to come visit the Doctor's office a few days ago. I don't usually use this office as my insurance is a co-insurance so it causes high charges if I haven't met my deductible yet. I also always forget that my insurance is weird at this location so ... I called ahead Saturday morning and was told there no nearly no wait and that I could log in over the phone. I quickly grabbed an Uber to the Urgent Care and was greeted by friendly staff. Since I was already in the computer I didn't have to fill anything out. Within a few minutes they reminded me that my insurance was a co-insurance and the fees I may have to pay to my insurance company. I asked them to take me off the calendar and that I couldn't afford to cover my deductibles. They looked slightly confused but not upset. I went across the way to the HomeGoods and called my insurance company to see what the cost would really be to me. I was told that the co-insurance and deductible had been met for the year so the cost would very affordable. I called back to the Doctor's office and was put back onto the calendar. As I arrived there was now 2 or 3 people waiting so I checked in at the front desk and sat down. Within 5 or 10 minutes I was called in. At first a nurse took my vitals and asked some generic but targeting questions as to why I was there. Again very quickly as the nurse was nearly finished Dr. Aghabi walked into the room and began my exam. Dr. Aghabi was nice and to the point. He asked questions, looked in the holes of my head with a pointy flashlight, asked a few more questions, and then diagnosed me. The Doctor was very pleasant and in a great mood. I have been to this office a couple of times for myself and I have brought friends here as well. The visits are usually pretty quick and straight to the point. Kind of standard "Urgent Care" style treatment; not quite emergency room but still single serve Doctors. This facility is useful to me as my General Care Doctor is not local to me currently and he is not open 7 days a week. I do recommend this place but as with any service make sure you know what your paying for before you take services. Some insurance companies are different this visit would have cost me 10 times as much if my deductible had not been met for the year already. Stay well you crazy Yelpers! read more

I brought my daughter here recently. My daughter was very sick and the doctor treated her like she was being dramatic. The doctor asked me if she is always like this? I asked him what he meant. He said I guess all children have their own ways. Again I was confused by this. I told the Dr that she had been throwing up since 3am, had a high fever, chills, body ache, back pain and ear ache. The Dr looked into her ears and told me they were fine. He tried to listen to her lungs but she was having trouble breathing and he was annoyed that she was making a noise when trying to breath. The noise she made when trying to breath was due to pain. There was no real assessment done. He prescribed anti nausea and sent us on our way. I checked her ears the next day and they were both red and inflamed and impacted. To cut a long story short there was another trip to a different urgent care and emergency room. By the time my daughter reached the ER she had multiple infections, was very sick and scheduled for possible surgery. Thankfully she recovered and surgery was no longer needed. I would not recommend urgent care to anyone. If you do go please be vigilant and make sure you advocate for your child as this whole experience was so scary for my daughter and her family. Doctors should leave their egos at the door and treat their patients (kids) with more respect. read more

We Called Ahead and they said to Make a reservation for Lyndhurst location for Covid 19 test on their website. Found an opening 3:15pm 12/16/2020. Arrived at my time slot..they said we are supposed to receive a call saying we're up next. I'm waiting in the waiting room an hour. Now 4:20pm.. Fed up i asked the front desk... to find out they called wrong number the whole time. I'm in front of the receptionist..yet they don't say anything.. I'm still here waiting for my turn while every one has been coming and going. What is going on. Now it's 4:40pm and i got a call from someone from closter, nj saying they are sorry. I told them clearly the receptionist doesn't know what she's doing. She said he had the wrong number entered yet clearly i Been receiving sms verification texts.. There is is a top-notch crew working here during the 4th of July 3-day weekend! First of all, Shana at the front desk is super helpful and a class-act. She is attentive to needs and funny and is very good with her customer service, whether on the phone or in person. Then the nurse practitioner, Tamika, is also positive upbeat but caring and knowledgeable. Then Lanita, the X-ray technician, is also helpful, and witty. There is one more person of this crew of whom I do not remember her name at this time. Mind you, I took my wife as a walk-in on a Fourth of July three-day weekend and these crew could not be more upbeat, positive and attentive. Not a single frown or inkling of bad attitude in any of them. Thank you for the treatment. I do hope that I do not need to visit you in the future (I hope you understand that I am not looking forward to any medical calamity), but if/when I need medical assistance, I will surely come to this facility. read more

Dr. Aghabi is possibly the saddest excuse for a doctor. I had come in complaining of nausea and rapid weight loss, as well as an Upper Respiratory Infection (as I get them frequently, recognize the symptoms, and know the proper treatment for them). Dr. Aghabi checked me out, and practically laughed in my face when I told him I needed an antibiotic for my URI. I explained to him that I am also a hypochondriac, and that I tend to overestimate my symptoms and think it's something more. He did nothing to assuage my fears regarding the consistent nausea, and told me "it'll resolve on its own." Fast forward two weeks, and I'm now getting an ultrasound ordered by my PCP because she thinks it may be gall stones. Aghabi's bedside manner, consideration for patients, and ability to quell any fears are all laughable. I will NEVER be returning to this AFC, and wish I could dispute the charge for my $50 copay, as I wouldn't even pay $0.50 to see that joke of a doctor again. read more

The only good thing about my experience was meeting and being assisted by Christina. They called the wrong number. They had the correct number to have me come back for my time to wait outside. sitting outside for 3 hours waiting for them to call, finally went into the office and they were calling the wrong number. Then to get through to get my results were horrible. They advise you to email. No response to my email. Following day another email with no response. Finally tried to call, with no ability to speak to a live person. Will never go here again. read more

Edit to my post from 3 months ago: It has now been 4 months since I went to this urgent care and I am still in pain. I ended up getting an MRI after seeing a podatrist. I have a ligament tear and 2 sprains. I've been in a walking boot and in physical therapy consecutively for over 7 weeks now. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! read more

This place is great. I've been coming here since they opened. Like every other 20-30 year old, I use urgent cares like a PCP (which I don't think you're supposed to do). But let me tell you... if you have a chronic issue. He tells you he's not a PCP and you need to go see one instead. That is a sign of a great dr, if you ask me. This man isn't in it for your co-pay like so many other urgent cares. He is doing his job for the sole fact of making people feel better and healthy. This place is terrible. I needed a physical for my insurance for 2017. I called early in the week of Dec 26th and was told the doctor would be available on Dec 31st. Called again on Dec 31st. Was told to come near the end of the day because they were a little busy. Went over at 4:30 only to discover the doctor had an emergency and had to leave. Understable and unavoidable, except now I was concerned about getting my physical submitted for 2016 instead of 2017. Call today (1/1) to make sure if I came in that the claim could be submitted for 2016 (which can be done since it is a holiday) and am told the doctor DOESN'T do physicals for insurance??? I could have gone elsewhere at any point this entire week and instead was given the run around by these illiterate people. Now I have to pay the extra money for my insurance this whole year because of their inaccurate information and wasting my time for a whole week. I'll be calculating out the difference and taking them to small claims court for this and they can pay the difference. read more
