WDSL Radio 1520 AM & and WDSL Radio 96.5 FM are now up and operational for about the last 9 weeks…read moresince June of 2018. We are excited in finally getting an FM frequency 24 hours a day. it is non-directional station which gets to provide the information and entertainment that this station deserves,,, in about another 60 days WDSL Radio will be 54 years old providing information to the interest of public of Davie County and surrounding area's. I also like to thank the staff of WDSL Radio as well as the management for providing the many hours it took to get the FM Station up and running. the station is currently playing classic country, bluegrass and southern gospel music and preaching which is doing well. I hope soon that this station will soon do many things like adding Ears radio to the Weekend In The Country Show with Steve Boger as a new affiliate. that has shown how powerful a 5,000 watt has become. When the CEO of Ears radio was really impressed with steve's show all over the world via the internet, it really means something like having more affiliates being added in the future. The station is currently at the new site located at 431 Eaton Rd. in Mocksville, NC. i would like to thank Junior Dunn and Lisa Snith with The Country Grass Show over the years providing with great interest in the classic Country, bluegrass music from the wall of fame in the fields of music.Thank you everyone over the years who have provided much over the years to keep going with a unique flavor of niche music and information given to the citizen of Davie County and surrounding counties as a new era has begun at WDSL Radio 1520 AM &96.5 FM. this post I hope that the listeners both old and new will give us a chance in providing a chance and respect in giving WDSL Radio the chance it deserves as well as well as the businesses directing advertising funds to the interest of the most current info provided in this county... thank you.

I remember when we were growing up in Rowan County we used to make fun of the local stations…read more However it was refreshing hearing the local news and about local events. With today's technology ever-changing many of the little small stations have gone out of business. I miss the agricultural reports. They also had obituaries like this station does. As well as local coverage for the hometown business people. Like Dairy Queen, Stout Heating and Air, The Oaks, Patterson's tomato Farm Exedra. The playlist goes all the way back to the sixties, 70's, 80s and of course 90s to 2000s. I love their local coverage of sports from Catawba to the Panthers even the Mountaineers. Many of us can remember when Salisbury was in its heyday with more business then it is now. The 60s 70s and 80s things were flourishing everywhere in Salisbury. The West End was developing just as good as the East side of town. Then unfortunately the growth of Salisbury just stopped for 40 years while I was away in the military. Things are looking better and better as more big business comes to Salisbury because of the Interstate 85 connection. So a good radio station like Memories 1280 is totally necessary to keep our town running well. Especially sense the newspaper does not deliver daily anymore. It is good to have a resource like 1280 for daily weather and local information. Some of the songs take me back to my childhood. Most people that study music have said those years music was a lot more pure than it is now. Too much of today's music is heavily processed and commercialized by overdubbing and computers and filters. So listening to the classic music of old can make some of the young people more creative in today's Music scene. Take a listen and you will see sometimes pure music is awesome. May you seek your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ daily.
