So good, we decided to have another party the very next week. They assigned Lukus, who never showed up. Very stressful and also costly because there were things I'd purchased for the party that I couldn't do without help that went to waste. I get it, you're depending on people you've hired to do what they say and show up, so it's hit/miss. The 1 star is because at first, Lauren w/Party Host Helpers, seemed concerned and apologetic, called me to say she is looking for someone to help me that night. Of course, there wasn't anyone at that late notice on a Saturday night. That's the last I've heard from them. Now it's been 3 days. No call, no email, no text and NO REFUND of my deposit. It wouldn't have taken much for them to call or email, extend their apologies again, and refund my money. But, they've moved on and clearly don't care. Now I am stuck holding the bag, investing more of MY time to chase my refund. It's a good idea, but you can't count on it and if they fail, you can't count on them promptly processing a refund. *sigh* Never again.

I had a definite image in mind when designing the wedding and reception we held at our home. We covered our pool with plexiglass that lights up at night and built the 'look' around that. Flowers were bright and tropical...music was 70's and 80's... we are not young. Every vendor listened to me and delivered exactly what I had in mind. Girl About Town was so much more than just someone coming in and decorating. Girl about town…read more(especially Vic the person we worked with) was a support system for my girls and I. We all know that traveling as a woman can be a little nerve-racking. Having Girl About Town changed that for me. It was like I was flying into a support system. She checked on us throughout our trip and even when we landed back at home. I felt like I had a local person that I could contact at any point if I needed anything. The weeks leading up to our trip, Vic and I spoke many different times. She made sure I knew everything that they offered to make our trip one of a kind. She pointed us to local restaurants that I had no idea existed even in the last three time I've visited New Orleans. On top of the beautiful decorations, amazing charcuterie board, games, and special treats. She came back to the Airbnb after we left for home and cleaned the whole place. What a blessing especially since we had to leave at 8 AM and wanted to enjoy our last night. I would also like to say Skyer and Vic made sure we had a stand to hang the decor on because the whole building was brick. We needed a day of coordinator but what we got was so much more. My fiance (now husband) and I thought we had everything taken care of with the exception of the final details. We had already booked the DJ, hair & makeup, the venue, had our invitations sent out.... what more was there to do??? How little we knew.... Alexa's organization and expertise blew us away. We filled out a number of online surveys so that she could make sure that she had every last detail taken care of. Everything from the rehearsal dinner, to the order that our family members would walk down the aisle, to who we wanted photos with (and who we didn't), toast speeches, what songs we wanted played and when, EVERYTHING was addressed and on the day of our wedding, she made sure that neither one of us had to worry about a thing. She attended so many of our meetings with our venue (even though we had a coordinator at the venue) and had an answer for us every time a minor dilemma or problem surfaced. Alexa also provided a number of helpful suggestions for seating charts, cards, first dance moment, re-use of floral arrangements to save money and so much more. I could tell you about how intuitive she is or how quick she was to respond (which is probably my biggest pet peeve when working with people). Or how on my wedding day, she was invaluable and handled everything with class, ease and a level of professionalism that is rarely seen. In the last 30 days before the wedding, Alexa stepped up to help with the final coordinating, which greatly reduced the stress on my fiancée (now wife) and I. As a result, we were able to have our dream wedding without it putting us through the wringer. Even for minor details- like when I realized that my dress had gotten wrinkled en route to our venue- Alexa had a solution. I don't know what we would've done without her! While (hopefully) I won't be needing her wedding planning services again, I definitely consider a good friend, and terrific person.
