The house was so dirty, the cabinets are broke, they have flimsy dollar store blinds that are bent up, the carpets are stained all through the house, there is even feces embedded in one spot of the carpet. One Year after renting from We Rent Homes: For customer service, I give this company 5 stars. Kim Kelly, Julie Hicks and Danielle Kokinda provided excellent and friendly customer service. Most of the time, I communicated with Kim Kelly via text. She always responded quickly and answered all of my questions. If she was not available, Danielle Kokinda responded. I only had to make 2 repair requests for the toilet, and both times the requests were answered and resolved promptly. Thank you, ladies, for your friendly customer service and professionalism. As far as the company, I only gave it 3 stars, because they hold the tenants responsible for maintenance and upkeep for the property, such as winterizing and summarizing the rental property. Therefore, if you rent a home from, We Rent Homes, be prepared to add another $250.00 to $300.00 yearly to the rent, which is approximately what it would cost to do this maintenance. Also, I was having a home built in El Paso, and it was not going to be completed by August 31st, which is when my lease would end. According to the lease agreement and what I was told, I would be able to rent month to month after the lease ended, however when I asked to extend for another month, I was told that they are no longer honoring the month-to-month extension. They did offer a one-month extension for double the rent which would have been $2,590. 00 for the month of September. I am a senior citizen living on a fixed income, and I could not afford that rent hike therefore, I had to find a home as quickly as possible. I cancelled the purchase of the home in El Paso and ended up purchasing a home in Las Cruces. (Which is where I wanted to live originally) The good thing about We Rent Homes is that they allow pets with a pet deposit. They did refund me all of my deposit, including the pet deposit, so I am very grateful for that. The rental property was in a very nice and quiet area. Thank you. read more

We are a military family and have moved many times and been both tenants and landlords. We treat our rental home as if it were our own and care for the property as we would like our tenants to care for our property. While renting we had an overall positive experience with We Rent Homes. It was frustrating and odd to me that they refuse to repair appliances per the rental agreement and both the garbage disposal and microwave broke during our residence which we paid out of pocket to fix. I understand that is their prerogative to not want to repair appliances as part of the contract. We had a water leak in the ceiling from poor roofing that had to be repaired three or four times over the course of our stay. Overall repairs were dealt with within a few weeks time. Upon move out, we did our due diligence to patch and paint any nail holes, tidied the yard, had the home professionally cleaned with a recommended vendor and the carpets cleaned. We also were sure to replace any broken mini blinds as the quality was cheap and many had broken with use. They kept $633 of our deposit for items such as a window latch, repainting the pantry shelves, door latch and hinges that were sticky, a leaky outdoor faucet, scuffs on the walls and trim, caulking in the bathroom showers. None of these items were due to damage we caused like the sticky window or door latch and scuffs on the wall are normal wear and tear when a home is used for its intended purpose as a primary dwelling. When I called and reached out to them, they insisted that these are my fault and should be repaired at my own expense from my deposit. I responded in writing to them, received a reply back two weeks later stating they would investigate the charges. Another week has passed I have yet to hear back from them. My advice is if you are going to rent from them, do an extremely thorough job with your move out cleaning and touch ups, video your home before vacating and insist on an in person walk through. They will tell you they do not do walk throughs with tenants but request a pre-walk through asking them for repairs they would be charging for so that you can take care of them yourself. We did not have the time to do this on a time crunched military move and this would have saved us the headache and the money they did not return from our deposit. read more

The air unit is out of date and refuses to fix it! We are going on day 2 with out any air! We have called all day for someone to come out and fix it!!! Also, if you have a problem they never fix it. I put in multiple requests to get a sink fixed and they never came. They pay venders who never fix the problem. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from renting with this company/business. They've screwed us over from time to time. Last straw is how we've called constantly two months ahead to ask if our lease renewal would be going up cause we figured that it would since there was a roofing issue on our home that took them over a month to fix (only fixtures they did was the discoloration, by scraping the textured ceilings and repainting; and not even checking for mold). So we call and they tell us it's staying the same. Now we're on the month our lease ends with only 11 days out til lease expires and they send us the new lease form showing a $25 increase in rent. When these guys say they'll keep you updated or informed, don't hold your breathe. These guys lack sincerity with their customers. I honestly think the company that's on too much homes/property that they can handle. Too be honest only one person (Iris) is in charge of maintenance for more than 1,000+ properties and it seems overwhelming for her and the company it seems. They either need to grow they're company and employ more people so things can get done faster or not be so money hungry and keep accepting more responsibility on home owners. Update: we've officially moved out due to military orders thank god! Honestly eff this place today we got our invoice from them with Zero check of our security deposit! They're trying to charge us for dirty appliances and bathroom and shit when we took time to clean this! They themselves don't even bother to clean upon a tenants move out for the next and I say this because when we moved in there was a burnt cast iron pan left in the broiler and flipping mold in the fridge! They're charging us for carpet stains we didn't even do we've never used bleached on the carpets and that was from the old tenants cause we have all this shit in photos. I would not recommend. We are military and have rented most of our adult lives. We have never failed a moveout clean and treat homes like we would our own. When we moved in house was not very clean and carpet needed to be replaced but since we were coming from out of state there was no way to know this before we got there. Most people have complaints about moveout because they will try to gouge you, no matter how clean you are, you will not be getting your whole deposit back. For the first time ever, I can actually say we are way happier living on base rather than off. read more

DO NOT RENT from this company, they are the WORST!!! I have never had a problem with any of the people who I've rented from and have an excellent record with no problems or damages done to any of the many properties I have rented and have always received a full refund of my deposit. This is the first time in 11 years that I have not received a full deposit after leaving their property professionally cleaned and with no damage they only returned $97 out of a $1450 deposit!!! I have pictures of how I received the house and I how I left it and receipts of the cleaning and they will not look at anything or return my calls or explain to me why they only returned the $97!! Extremely unprofessional. Back in APRIL 2019 I put a work order for the front door lock, seeing this is a potential fire hazard. I explained the severity of this issue being that my family and I cant lock ourselves in. Maintenance request #25879-2 was put in and schedule for repair on April 30, but was later canceled. ONE YEAR goes by the door lock was not repaired and when I checked the maintenance request on the portal, WE RENT HOMES Canceled the work order due to "covid". In JULY, AUGUST and SEPTEMBER 2020 the ac went out twice. This first time it was fixed in about 1 week HOWEVER the repair man reached out to WE RENT HOMES and warned them about a compressor that needs to be ordered before greater damages happened. Without listening to the repair man, GREATER DAMAGES happened in the hottest month of the year AUGUST. One month with no AC. When I reached out to WE RENT HOMES this was their respond "Hello, I have followed up with the homeowner, home warranty company, and the vendor. Unfortunately, because of COVID there is no earlier date to get the compressor in. The vendor did state that it could come in earlier. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. It's not easy being in a home where you still have to make full rent payments and being in a home/sauna. If I could give this service zero stars, I would. We rented from them sometime back (military family) and when we moved in, the place was dirty and needed maintenance. As per their direction, we documented all of the faults and took pictures. When it came time for move out, we clean the house extremely well and steamed cleaned the carpets. A couple weeks later, I received a notice that we would only be getting $300 back of our $1200 deposit. They said the place was not cleaned and needed repairs. Bottom line, they tried to scam us out of our deposit so the owner (probably them) could use the money for improvements on the house. Please save yourself the a**pain of dealing with this company. House was still dirty when we moved it. (Even after we asked that they have it cleaned) Absolutely horrible to get any maintenance repairs done in a reasonable time. Spent 4 days with out AC in late July before we contacted the landlord directly and had it fixed the next day. They hold your security deposit for the full maximum time by law before returning it, absolutely unacceptable. When they did the "walk through" for our final inspection the guy showed up with just his phone and took pictures. That was it. I returned the house in better condition than I rented it. Please if you are military please don't use this company they will ruin your investment or make it beyond belief a headache when leaving one of their rental properties. Military stay away! I was stationed at Bliss and found this website by accident. Sounded like a great deal. I stayed there for a whole year with out any real issue. The month I moved out I left the home on the 13th of the month. The staff told me that I would have to pay for a full months rent regardless. I was told I would get it back afterward. I agreed. Recently I got my deposit back but was short the difference in the rent. I called and was told that they don't allow people to move out at the mid month and that any money paid was forfeited. I was told by the lady on the phone " the only way you'll get your deposit difference is if we rent the house out right away". I paid for the whole month and during that time they were showing people the home on my dime. This company is a total rip off to the Military! read more

These people are very unprofessional and do not care about their tenant's needs. Before I moved into one of their homes, I had completed a walkthrough and noticed that the paint in every room was mismatched. The carpet in one of the bedrooms had a rather medium size to large green stain and the carpet where the stairs were, were disgusting. They appeared very worn and used and were coming up a little. I had inquired about them fixing that and they stated that the homeowner would be responsible for fixing that and that it should be addressed prior to moving in. When I moved in, nothing had been done and instead, the carpets had been steam cleaned and that was it. I emailed them and they said that the homeowner did not want to fix it, so at that point, I said fine and documented it on the move-in inspection sheet. After living there for a few days, I noticed that the ceiling fan also did not work for turning the lights on or off with the attached string. I tried to change out the light bulb and that didn't work either. I thought I had submitted a request to have it fixed, but I did not so that was on me, but I recently just submitted one to have it looked at. Then I asked for a garage opener because the house did not come with those or the mailbox keys. The lockbox for walkthroughs stayed on my door for a whole 3 weeks before they removed it. I had to follow-up and ask them to come in and remove it. I also had to pay for my mailbox keys. I figured okay, this is probably just something minor and I shouldn't encounter anything new. NOT the case! I thought I would be given two garage door open remotes, but was not given those upon move-in. I was told I had to purchase those myself so I did. After moving in I also noticed that the oven/stove was not working when I plugged in the appliance. The appliance had an F10 code in which a vendor had to come out and look into it. I submitted a request and it took 1 week for a vendor to come out and tell me they had to order the part. Then, they didn't even come out for another 3 weeks to fix the oven. I had to even follow-up with We Rent Homes El Paso, to see if the vendor was coming back. My oven was broken for an entire MONTH. Then, the upstairs toilet valve was not flushing so again, I had to put a request in for that. When they came out, the valve was replaced and I was assured the toilet would work. That request took approximately 1 week to have completed as well. Three days later, the toilet is broken again. I put another request in and have yet to hear from a vendor and its' been over a week now. I told them the toilet would need to be replaced and they said a vendor would be out to look at it and they still have not come. Lastly, it rained last night and water was literally leaking in my living on my TV and dog beds. I was furious and emailed them about it and put a request to have it fixed only to receive an email in the morning with a woman by the name of Danielle Kokinda who stated "some of the items you have had issues with we aren't able to check during inspections due to them being a gas utility which isn't active during the vacancy for safety reasons". I reported my heater not working because silly me, it wasn't turned on just yet so I had to deal with the gas company as well. That was my fault and an issue that should not have been reported, but the nerve this lady had to try and point that issue out among ALL of the other issues I've had. She made me feel like my issues were being minimized and that they weren't a concern. I would advise anyone who is thinking of renting from them to NOT rent from them. They are very unprofessional and do not value the tenants that move-in or reside in their homes. If you have problems with the home you rent, don't count on these people to rectify the problem. This is the WORST rental agency in El Paso.....Not only do they keep the entire months rent when you're on PCS orders but they never sent people out for work orders until days to weeks later. They also raise your rent if you choose to renew your lease knowing how much it costs and how difficult moving is. The customer service is the absolute worst I have ever dealt with to include Iris. They do not even do the yearly checks on houses that property management establishments are supposed to do. I would never refer them to anyone especially MILITARY. read more

This company is absolute trash! I own a rental myself and understand life as a tenant and an owner. This company changed the locks on my property 3 weeks early on my lease after telling me I wouldn't be prorated. When I threatened a lawyer they "agreed" upon paying proration plus the days I didn't have access to the property. They only paid the proration. Then they decided to schedule a move out without me knowing the date and time. I even asked when turning in the keys. Don't get me started on maintenance requests, because you are better off doing the maintenance yourself. It takes them 10-11 months to fix anything! If you are military I recommend not renting from here! I wish I could give them no stars! read more

I highly highly recommend to NOT rent from this company. A lot of bumps upon leaving this home. We are military as well. My husband and I gave them our 2 week notice upon leaving. Normally you get a pro rated check back if you move out from your date X til the 1st. Doesn't work that way. If you move out on the 15th and you gave them your whole rent check of 1425, you don't get it back UNLESS someone else moves in in that gap. If no one moves in from the 15th to the 1st, you will not get a check back, even when you give the company proper notice. Also, when we moved out, we did our best to clean. FYI you also don't get a live person to do a walk through when you move in and when you move out. We went above and beyond and only received 900 of our 1425 deposit back. My husband wrote a letter back questioning ALL the other charges we were charged for(things that were already in the home, pictures and dates to prove) and we received a check for 75 dollars. We are a clean, small simple family and have a very clean rental history so this experience was disappointing to us. Worst rental experience ever! Office staff is rude. Services requests never complete (opened for more then 4 months!) . No one ever returns phone calls for assistance. When you call, the office staff makes you feel like you are inconveniencing them and never really assist. You never get an honest answer when speaking to them and everyone you speak to gives you a different answer. Will never rent from them again. Horrible. Update: Have now been dealing with the owner. He promised one thing and when I help my end up he backed down on his end. Business is not honest and I do not fee confident I that they will ever be honest with me. Initially this company seemed decent. However, things started going downhill hill after the first month. Additionally the house was and yard were not cleaned and we had to clean the property. The sprinkler system that was ripped out by the previous tenants. They attempted to bill us for this. Additionally every four months or so they would do a walk through of the property, which would be extremely annoying when you had to plan work around it. After the first year they tried to raise the rent by nearly $100, despite already being one of the higher rentals in the area. I was able to negotiate a increase of $25, but again still one of the higher rentals in the area. Finally after receiving orders to leave El Paso, they fought me every step and wanted me to continue to pay rent for the next four months. After going through several managers I was able to stop this. Nearly a month after leaving the property we had not seen our deposit back and began to contact them, after a few attempts they began ignoring our calls and not responding. Finally we were able to reach the head manager and get our deposit minus items that were clean but they claimed other wise. I would stay away and if your military stay far away, this company should be black listed. read more

Our experience with We Rent Homes has been particularly unpleasant. Promises about having the house cleaned and prepared before the move in date were not kept and instead of the company owning up to the problems we had to deal with constant back and forth arguing to get any repairs and cleaning done in the home. The house had major repair problems that were not revealed to us before moving in. The A/C was broken, water leaks were found in the toilets, water valve in the backyard, under the sink, and in dishwasher overflow valve. The house was also filthy on our move in date and the company refused to send in cleaning service until we finally complained for the 5th day in a row. The staff is generally very unhelpful, very rude and they even went as far as to say that we should just accept the house the way it is. If I had known what I do now about the way this company treats its customers I would have stayed clear away from them from the beginning. Don't be fooled by the way they treat you before you sign the lease because after you are under contract with these people they will not treat you with respect. Hopefully people looking to rent houses will read this and be able to save themselves the trouble we are facing right now. We are on day number 6 of dealing with constant issues of problems with the house and we have not even had a chance to move in yet even though our move in date was 6 days ago.
