10 REASONS TO STAY AWAY Bond is a train wreck. I grew up in the neighborhoods Bond services. I have…read more(not much longer) multiple business and personal accounts there. I have tried for years to support this small Credit Union. It is just no longer doable. What types of problems might one encounter with Bond? #1 - ZERO technology! As a business you will not be able to connect ANY bookkeeping software. You'll have to export in CSV file, then re-import into QB etc... This means NO REAL TIME BALANCES #2 - If you use credit monitoring or financial management to track and categorize your spending - Guess what? You cannot with Bond because they aren't listed of affiliated with anyone - You're out of luck. Apps like Mint? - FORGET IT. #3 - HORRIBLE accounting. They will fail to make deposits before debit resulting in overdraft charges. They will deposit funds into incorrect accounts if you have multiple accounts. You will have to check everything. #4 - Almost impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. #5 - Can take days and sometimes weeks to get email replies. Some may never come. #6 - Lots of wrong information from employees: I had a manager tell me that they could not let me deposit funds as a DBA into the LLC account that supported the DBA in the first place. I would have to open a separate business account under that name. "DBA's must be their own business" #7 - They LOVE to Pass the Buck. THE FCBA (Fair Credit Billing Act) requires all financial institutions to (a) acknowledge if you submit a dispute form, (b) complete their investigation within two billing cycles and (c) provide you with proof the investigation was done if you ask for it. I just had this conversation with current CEO Craig McDonald over a Home Depot purchase dispute. My complaint being the failure to act in a timely manner and resolve the dispute of nearly 4,000.00. His comment: "You authorized the charge, there is nothing we can do" I was floored. Why then do you have the dispute forms? Why then did you handle it in the past but not now? (It is because they let their two-billing cycle time limit expire and now they owe me the money.) #8 - They will flat out lie to your face if they are wrong. Above dispute occurred in July 2020. Dispute submitted Aug 8th 2020. Today is Dec 14th 2020 - and only last week after near constant follow up did, they try to do anything. They sent me an email saying they just tried to call the person I had listed at Home depot and could not find them. I picked up the phone in less than 30 seconds of that email and called the HD employee that was my witness from her business card. - the same one submitted with my dispute form. She said, "I've been at my desk the past 3 hrs. They never called. They lied. #9- The place is a morgue. Employees are dry, complacent, inattentive, slow.... #10 - Car Loan, attached to incorrect account for over a year in spite of numerous emails to please correct. Car loan payment books: A mess. Duplicate coupons, wrong payment numbers on those coupons. (In mine they published the first book incorrectly and when they sent the new one the payment numbers were off. Payment # 14 was numberer in the coupon as payment #8 COME ON YA'LL !!!! The most common phrase I hear from them is "Well, were not responsible for...." If you hear that phrase, then you best check your facts. Because they are either incorrect in the info, they are giving you or they are trying to get out of some failure to perform on their end and most likely it's usually a failure to perform It's truly sad to say all this. I'm not an angry member (soon to be ex-member) But Bond is never going to improve. The small group of employees that have been there forever basically operate the place for their own livelihood. There is no incentive to improve. Don't get me wrong. These are nice neighborhood people who are all friendly except for one that is neither "Merry" nor "Rosey" L5P in an old hippie, eclectic chill place. Bond is like that in some ways and rightfully so. Sort of like your stoner friends from school running the place. They may be cool and friendly. But they aren't fast accurate or up to date.

I wanted to love this bank. I really and truly did. Unfortunately, my experience was not as…read morepositive as these fellow Yelpers. I've been a part of a credit union for as long as I can remember. So, when I moved to Ormewood Park, BOND seemed like a great place to continue my banking. I absolutely loved the old school feel of the interior, staff is very helpful, Sat hours 11-3PM is great, and of course being right in the heart of Little 5 and next to Sevananda is a huge plus! Here are the con's of my experience: - The initial ATM card they provide you never worked. I went through 3 cards before my debit card and checks came in. - It took 3 weeks for my debit card (even longer for checks) to come in. Typical turnaround is 10-14 days. - Biggest gripe: If your account ever drops below $300 within a calendar month, they charge your account $7. WTF?! - Every now and then, the debit card would decide not to work. I've never had this problem with other credit unions. Incredibly frustrating when you're trying to make a purchase, and you know you have more than sufficient funds. - For some reason, a statement they were sending by mail was returned, so they disabled my debit card. I appreciate the safety precaution, but no communication that you were disabling my card? C'mon. - The website is archaic. I'm sure this doesn't matter to most, but a good layout detailing my account is huge points with me. Not to mention web access is a toss up with maintenance and " connection timed out" messages. I stayed with BOND for the year my husband and I were in Ormewood. We have since moved to the westside and are now part of a credit union that we're very happy with. The customer service of this place is great, and I can see how this is perfect for some (especially for those transitioning from national/commercial banks), but it sadly wasn't the place for us.
