First, I want to give credit where it is due: the facility itself is immaculate, organized, and appears to be very well run. It is clear that a great deal of care goes into maintaining the space, and from that perspective, I was genuinely impressed. That said, there were a few things that gave me pause. During my visit, the staff-to-dog ratio appeared, at least from what I could observe, to be somewhat disproportionate. There were several dogs in areas that seemed to be unsupervised, which made me a little uncomfortable. I will also say, however, that there appeared to be adequate cameras throughout the facility that were viewable from the lobby, and I personally observed Charlie respond quickly to intervene when a situation arose. That was reassuring and is worth noting. My biggest concern, however, was the evaluation process and my interaction with Charlie. To be fair, I would not describe him as outright rude or openly condescending (as noted in other reviews). However, I left feeling that much of our conversation centered on his own credentials, experience, and knowledge of dog training and behavior rather than on listening to my input about my particular dog, Jack. As Jack's owner, I had hoped for more of a collaborative conversation about his personality and behavior. Charlie called me approximately 2 hours into Jack's evaluation period. I was told (and could hear over the phone) that Jack was barking incessantly and this could be stressful for the other dogs and staff. Charlie advised that I consider using a bark collar. I questioned how I may train on this as I do not see this type of behavior in his normal day-to-day life. His response was, "He doesn't ever bark?" The tone struck me as cold and somewhat snide, and it felt dismissive rather than like an attempt to better understand my perspective. I was also uncomfortable with the suggestion of introducing a bark collar. This is something I have never used with Jack in his five+ years, and the idea of introducing something entirely new to him while he is already adjusting to an unfamiliar facility and environment gave me pause. To me, it seemed possible that adding an unfamiliar and punitive device during what could already be a stressful experience might create more stress and give my dog a very negative association with the facility. I offered to come and pick Jack up immediately but was told I needed to wait until the lobby reopened. I fully understand that dog daycare and boarding facilities have to maintain standards for safety and the well-being of all animals and staff. I also understand that not every environment is the right fit for every dog. However, I would encourage anyone with a dog who is not perfectly trained, is anxious, vocal, or simply behaves differently in unfamiliar environments to ask plenty of questions and make sure this is the right fit for their pet. This may be an excellent facility for some dogs and owners. It is certainly one of the cleanest and most professional-looking facilities I have seen. But for me, the overall experience left me feeling that there may be limited patience or flexibility for dogs who don't immediately fit a particular behavioral expectation. I wanted to share my experience and hope this is useful information for other pet parents when deciding where to place a dog they love.

He has a horrible attitude problem - caught him rolling his eyes to fellow employees at my puppy bc she was crying when we first walked in. His dog barked in my dogs face and he said my puppy came on too strong. Aggressively ordered me to change seats. I tried being relatable to him and made a comment about his dogs (I had the same when I was younger) and he rolled his eyes and acted like it was the dumbest thing he's ever heard and I was wasting his time. He is very condescending and rude- probably should be nowhere near customer service. Something felt very cold and off about him and I have to go with my gut and keep him away from my dogs! We will not be returning. The establishment itself is well kept and clean. My dogs appeared to have had a great time via Instagram - just wish they had a kinder person working the front desk! It is, however, very unfortunate that Animal Medical Clinic of Goose Creek does not see an issue with charging the customer $26.95 for 3 (THREE) Galliprant pain pills. That's almost $9/pill! When I asked to speak to the office manager the next morning, notes were taken and it was explained that it is always cheaper to buy in bulk - no kidding! I explained that I was very unhappy with their price gouging practices and that at this point I am simply appalled and disgusted. I was told that the office manager would get in touch with me. While I haven't heard from the office manager, I did receive a call to confirm our appointment. When I asked for our appointment to be canceled, declined to reschedule, and thanked the young lady for her help, I heard something that sounded like "ok" and then I was hung up on. Considering their unethical business practices, not only did they lose our vet business for two dogs, they lost our boarding business as well and so much more....

I will begin with not even being able to give 1 star because this experience. I have a 19 month…read more90lb Rottweiler that I need spayed and another veterinarian in the area referred Hutto Vet to me. My wife brought her to the first visit to establish my dog for setting appointment for the surgery in which I shouleft have stopped there after my wife said Dr Chavis never would touch her or even get close to her for examination. I didn't think too much of this until a few weeks down the road the surgery was scheduled and I went back and forth on the phone with Mary who is not pleasant to deal with because of the ridiculous protocols they have in place which I believe were created for my non aggressive dog when she is not threatened. They are so terrified of a pet breed that hadn't given any reason for us to not be able to drop her off and perform the surgery that they had my wife had to drive 30 minutes 1 way to pick up anesthesia then drive back home and administer this to her. She then has her wait a couple hours and bring her back at 11 and the dog is not asleep but definitely under the influence of this medication. She was too scared to even put a muzzle on her for no reason to start with so my wife does this for them, in turn Dr Chavis takes her in the back for MAYBE 5 minutes to come back and say she lunged at her. Now keep in mind the dog is dopey with a muzzle and she brings her back out and my wife takes the dog from her and a couple words were said then this coward person who calls herself a vet walks away to go hide in the back. After this nightmare of a visit occurred they still wanted 150.00 dollars for the medication and my wife paid it. I called and spoke with Dr Chavis immediately and did get the money refunded but now my wife has wasted half a day with 4 trips, no spaying for our doped up dog to take home to not be able to get her out of vehicle because of what they suggested the so-called protocol is. I don't write reviews but this definitely warrants one, if you have any pet over 20lbs with teeth I recommend anyone other than this establishment with the fact being Dr Chavis is scared of a larger breed dog and will not be upfront and honest about it. I am definitely making this clear that I will never suggest this person or this business to another for ANY veterinary care so do your research before you waste your time, money, and energy on Hutto Veterinary in Holly Hill.
