This is the department to call if you need a fish or gaming license, want to stop the danger of someone illegally hunting on your property or need an urgent search and rescue in the nearly 5 million acres of forest land in the state. And yes, we're the nerdy people who tune into Animal Planet's North Woods Law, an oddly compelling series that sometimes enjoins us to throw popcorn at our TV shouting, "Oh come ON! You're gonna let those folks off with a just a warning?" (And why are the fines rando amounts, often $74.40? What's with the $0.40?) We see these officers daily and can attest they work hard to insure wildlife's protected and people safely enjoy the beauty of New Hampshire's land and water.

That said, with the number of visitors that…read moretend to disturb the peace and the fact that you have to ask for a bathroom key that you then have to go to the bottom floor of the building to use makes this place difficult to get work done consistently. It is an incredibly disappointing experience. I understand why it is the way it is but that makes it no less annoying to work here.
