Unfortunately coming from a uber luxury wedding dress shop, this shop appeared to be dated and shabby and did not ooze luxury at all and what's more we were offered a cup of tea or coffee not a glass of champagne - shock horror! You've already lost a point in my book! The wedding dresses were not to my taste, and the accessories looked cheap and the lady really didn't find out the kind of dress that I would like. My appointment wasn't exclusive so other customers would wonder into the shop, with my lady getting distracted and me being left to my own devices. All in all not a great experience at all. However if you are a strict budget this may be the place for you.

Tears...tears...tears…read more.. My sister got her wedding dress from here 10 years ago and though she's not an emotional person, as soon as she put the dress on she burst into floods of tears. This set us all off; me, my mom and the ladies working there. We're coming here for my wedding dress I thought. 10 years later the same group of us arrived at Red Rose. It's a Tuesday morning and we're on the lookout for my perfect dress. The sales assistant came straight over and greeted us, asking all the relevant questions; When's the big day? Where's it being held? What kind of dress had I got in mind? Unfortunately it all went down hill from here. I had a specific style and budget in mind and the look she gave me was utterly ridiculous. The excitement of looking for a dress just drained away from me. Because I didn't want a big puffy thing or an expensive couture dress she simply wasn't interested. She left us to have a look through some dresses and we made a speedy exit. She didn't blink an eyelid. I would never have expected this kind of behaviour from an assistant in a wedding dress store. It shouldn't matter what I want but whether you can help me find it or not. To be judged in such a rude way and made to feel that my choices weren't to her liking was disgusting. The solution (amazing) buy a hand made dress on the internet and then take it to a local pro to finish the sizing perfectly and deliver the finished dress. The only person to see my wedding dress from the day it arrived to the actual big day was my mom…read more Unfortunately my mom lives quite far away from me so my mother-in-law to be (who lives a lot nearer) kindly offered to let me keep the dress at her house, with the promise that she wouldn't take a peek. All was going well until I realised the dress was fairly creased and I needed to get it steamed only 2 weeks before the big day! The ladies at Wedding Belles were brilliant. They totally understood my situation and promised to keep the dress under lock and key. As my mother-in-law elect lived so locally they even offered to collect and drop off the dress. As I was at work I had total faith in the ladies and my mother-in-law to be. They only had the dress for a couple of days and when they returned it they had added in a shape keeper for the top half of the dress (as it was an off the shoulder piece) and they had packed it so even the shape couldn't have been seen. I have already recommended a friend do the same for her dress and I say the same to you. They really did surpass my expectations and for a reasonable price too!

My research began with a trip to Wedding Belles. Here, I met two fabulous ladies who immediately put me at ease with my task and convinced me rather than a punishment, this was a privilege. We set about the amazing selection of bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, tiara's, veils and so, SO much more. I had given myself an hour, just to make some initial enquiries, I was still there after two hours, I had become engrossed in bridal wear, even excited. This was due to the fabulous knowledge and customer service I received. I can't wait to go back with the bride to be.

On top of that, they just all looked the same, as if they'd been churned out of a wedding dress factory. I felt defeated. Then, on our way home from a day full of foul-mood-making dress slinging, my husband said to me, "oh look at this shop just on the outskirts of the city -- should we just pop in?". I refused. I was tulled out. But the next day, we decided to give it a go. I was so pleasantly surprised, I nearly cried. The shop is beautifully decorated, with comfortable couches on which to wait. The owner, an elderly lady, and her daughter, were so attentive, helpful and polite, even though I hadn't had an appointment. And if that weren't good enough, they had dresses designed in unique styles, very couture and interesting. I was in heaven. But then, the third level of happiness arrived -- the prices. These dresses were a full £300 -- 800 less than every other wedding shop. I found a Robert Bullock dress (NYC designer) for £295, originally on sale in NY for $1300. I nearly cried with happiness. There were five possible dresses in the shop, but when I walked out in the "one", my husband nearly cried with happiness (probably because of the price tag). The shop owner told me I looked astonishing in it, and pointed out the finer areas in which it suited me more than the other dresses. She helped me find shoes and matching jewelry (from other shops not affiliated with her), and went above and beyond any call of duty. Do yourself a favour -- skip EVERY other wedding dress shop in Birmingham. If you're from out of town, make the trip up here. You, your fiance and your wedding budget will thank you.

The saris here are pretty decent and my family have been here on several occasions. My mother in particular enjoys coming here and has brought a couple of dresses for upcoming weddings. Not that my dad has been pleased about it since he has ended up paying for them. There are also Mens sherwanis on sale so there is something for Men and they are not waiting for their partners to come out of the store. No offence women but you do spend way to long in shops. I know exactly how Men feel when it comes to waiting for women to finish in shops. I would come back here for sure and prices are not bad although there are one or two items that are expensive. A decent shop to go to in my view if you are looking for something to wear at a wedding.

The designs are quite exuberant and extreme for my taste, but if that is what you're into then it's worth a visit. They're far from reasonably priced with outfits at around £400, although this is about average in the local area. They stock a limited range of jewellery also. There is a pay and display car park next to the boutique, which has a corner location so it's hard to miss.
