They were demanding masks long after every other business in town (private or otherwise) had stopped, the mandate had been lifted, and after the announcement that dust and fabric masks do not help in any way. When I asked why they were still requiring it, security and the Communist woman running the place were called, and I was told to leave the premises. I wasn't threatening or hostile in any way - I simply wanted to know what their deal was. Had they merely advised me that the state was still requiring it or something similarly reasonable, I would have said, "Ah, well, that's unfortunate, but we do what we must." These people consider themselves highly educated and enlightened, but they're simply emotional rather than critical thinkers who are easily manipulated and indoctrinated. They were taught by Communist elements in the government what to think rather than how to think, & they believe that this fact makes them somehow superior to those of us who didn't buy our careers. Make sure to check out the reviews that Yelp "doesn't recommend," as this is where the most useful reviews typically appear (especially in this particular instance). Fairly graded, our unfortunately managed (once-great public library, a shell of its former self, and most of the people who go there on a regular basis are city bums) would receive an average one-star grade.

Reeder's Alley, one of Montana's oldest streets and longest survivors of man and nature, is a…read morebeautiful testament to the heart of Helena. It is on the national register of historic places and I could really feel the significance of this site when I was there. The alley is easy to miss as it is quite small and hidden from the new streets of Helena. However, there is a big arc sign over the start of the alley that says Reeder's Alley. Parking is on the street or in the few metered spots to the left of the alley. Walking through the arc, I was transported back in time. The brick road, brick buildings and log cabins are something that you don't see much of anymore. And the cracks and imperfections are all what signify the tragedies and realities that this place has gone through since the 1870's. There is an interpretive and convention center located in the back of the alley. Unfortunately, it wasn't open when I was there, but I'm sure there is a ton of interesting information about the place. It was awesome to see that the brick buildings are in use as well. There are several different businesses that are being run inside the alley like Dundee's Barber Shop, Saigon Alley, Top Sign and Graphics and Helena's Visitor Center. They also have one of my favorite things. A little free library. It's where you take a book and replace it with one of your own. Fun for everyone! Overall, Reeder's Alley shows a great deal of strength, heart and willingness to keep it's history alive and thriving.

Very cute shop with a good variety of books, lots of merchandise to pick from including Montana book co. merch and other stationary. We encountered a sweet employee that reviewed their merchandise and helped us pick out some gift items, she was really nice to be attentive to us. Really appreciated her customer focus. They have very cool stickers I bought a handful sling with books and t-shirts. Loved their support and diversity message. Great place to stop in and grab your next read.
