Everytime we go in, Frankie gets a very warm welcome and, of course, a treat. We can't even walk past the shop anymore without him pulling me to the door. We've gotten everything from his collar and his halter to his toys and dog food here. Before making stops in here, I would probably just get most of my dog things from a big box store like PetSmart but I love that I get to shop local and support a great shop like this. The best part? The thing that reminded me to finallyyyyy write my rave review?? The owner got dressed up as Santa one chilly Saturday a week or so ago and took photos with the pups in Hoboken! It is every dog parents dream that they didn't know they had. They even printed out photos for free and put them in a cute little envelope for us to take home. It was so wonderful and hysterical and was just the cutest little way to start the day. They've always been a favorite shop but they just easily took the #1 stop.

My vet recommended JFFD and Farmer's Dog as healthy meals for my dog. We initially started with Farmer's Dog's turkey recipe and was eating it for a few months but it didn't always sit well with her sensitive stomach, and so we switched to JFFD's cod and sweet potato recipe, and it has worked great for her. She's been on it for 2 years now. Her coat shines and she has been complimented on acting and looking younger than her age. She's also gotten leaner since getting off kibble and onto fresh food. The staff here are great - very friendly and welcoming. My pup and I love the bar where you can grab samples of their treats to try. They also give little plastic bags for you to bring some home. Parking isn't easy to find though so keep that in mind if you're planning on driving.

Now if you are still on the fence about coming here due to some people questioning the durability of MA's fish with them getting sick" within a day or two after bringing home" or that "Selling sick fish is unacceptable". Let me ease your mind. Yes, fish do get sick sometimes. That is always unfortunate. It is also sometimes out of a LFS's control at times. Pathogens, parasites and protozoa are always present in aquaculture. Symptoms may remain dormant or negligible and cannot be detected from a glance. Hence it is why we in the hobby quarantine new fish, not just for diseases we can see but also those we cannot. However sickness can sometimes not be preventable. Something you CAN prevent is a massacre of your whole tank by simply QUARANTINING YOUR FISH. If you allow time to do its thing you will most definitely know whether or not any action needs to be taken. Simply dumping new fish into established tanks just means " I dont care about my fish", " If they die its not my fault since I didnt know they were sick". Now alot of people in this hobby are beginners and thats great! Just learn to ask for help. If help is coming from a person who "pretended he didn't understand what I was saying", GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. There's this pretty neat place call the internet. Oh? you're on it now? WOW! SEE look at that! Not so Hard right? BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!! :) All in all, sorry for the rant.
