He's one of those people who knows thousands of things about Paris and seemed to custom his comments to people's interests and curiosities. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and just an genuinely nice guy....everything you want in a tour guide. You could ask him anything. He starts at the origin of Paris and goes from there. It's a free walking tour with an amazing tour guide. Our guide, Paul, was awesome. He is extremely knowledgeable, full of energy and really excited to share the history of Paris. He was literally jumping because he was so excited. If you were like us and didn't really put the research in before your trip, you should probably book this walk on your first day because it gives you a good feel for the major sights as well as good tips on places to go. The other thing we liked was just the general advice on people to avoid, who was going to be mean, or where you shouldn't spend your money...stuff like that. What can I not say about Wego Walking Tours? Paul and Paulina are AWESOME! This was my first visit to Paris and they both made such an impression on me. We met Paul at 9am to start the tour... BTW who is so excited at 9am on a gloomy, cold Tuesday morning? PAUL! Ha!! He made it so enjoyable to be outside walking around in the cold. The tour is long so wear comfy shoes! Bon Jour! Charisse A., our 7-year old, and I went to see Paris. It was the last stop in an 8-country European vacation. It has been a dream of Charisse's since she was a little girl. So, we went. We stayed right near the Eiffel Tower and decided that the best way to get to know Paris was on foot. Ergo, Wego Walking Tours. What you need to know. Wear good walking shoes with a stiff bottom. There are lots of cobblestones where you are going. Second, bring some Euros to pay him at the end. You decide what you want to pay, and there is only a 20 Euro charge if you book the tour and don't show. Otherwise, you decide the payment. Paul was our guide. He was very informative. His English is perfect and his French perfect too. He definitely cares about the tourists he has with him and shoos away the undesirables. You meet at the Notre Dame Cathedral and it is off on the walk. Paul takes time to explain the sights to you and tell you stories with local flavor and accurate history. He was also very thoughtful and considerate for the entire group. As he is walking and telling stories, he is giving advice about where you might want to come back to and how to see more of this beautiful city. So it is a long walk, but very doable because Paul stopped for several breaks. It was like he knew exactly how far the average person wants to walk before breaking. His attention to breaks made the whole thing more fun and exciting because the folks were paying attention to the sights, sounds, smells, and stories, not their tiredness. All in all, the tour was very entertaining and Paul dropped a ton of knowledge on us. Paul and WEGO tours was recommended to me by a friend and this was one of the few things I'd booked ahead of time for our trip to Paris. This tour exceeded our expectations and my husband kept on telling me the rest of the trip "I'm so glad you booked the walking tour for us, it was the perfect start." Paul was knowledgeable and fun. Held our attention the entire time, we didn't realize how far we had walked till the very end. We did the tour the day after New Years Day, and let me tell you, the weather was HORRIBLE. It was cold, windy, and it rained the whole time. Went on the Wego Walking tour on 12/13/14 with Paul and his wife. We started at Notre Dame and spent 3.5 hours walking all the way to the Eiffel Tower seeing and talking about all of the many sites between the landmarks. I have never been to Europe, let alone Paris, so I was at a loss for what to see and what to do. I didn't know much about French history or the significance of different buildings, neither did my family. We decided to do this walking tour the first day, so that we would be able to see a lot in a short amount of time. When the website says that the tour takes 3.5 hours, it truly means that you will be walking for 3.5 to 4 hours! However, you won't even notice how far or long you've been walking, because the tour guide is SO entertaining!! We had Paul, and he was so interesting, excited, and animated about each building, the history, and France in general. It made US get excited about it. We had just flown in on an overnight flight from the States, so we were exhausted. Because of this, we thought "We'll stay for a bit, and then maybe leave and take a nap after an hour or so." Paul was so amazing, we didn't want to leave - Why would be go and take a nap, when this fascinating city was just waiting to be explored?? Also, Paul was very helpful in tips on everything about Paris. He helped us figure out the transportation system, gave us recommendations for where to eat/how to pick a good restaurant in Paris (go to the places where the patrons are speaking mostly French, not English), told us what some good places to see were, and even helped us modify our itinerary a little! He was WONDERFUL!! He also has no French accent, and the entire tour was in English. He was easy to understand and enjoyable to listen to. We were only in Paris for 6 days, so this was the perfect way for us to pick and choose was to come back to, since we had so little time in the city. We took a river cruise and a couple of other guided tours, and the information they told us on these tours were less interesting than the things Paul told us. The information he told us, also, was identical but more in depth than these. We had the best time on this tour!! Our only regret was not asking if we could get private tours with him at the other venues we visited in Paris! read more

If possible, schedule this tour at the first of your trip as Paul (the tour operator) gives you so much local knowledge you will be grateful. I hoped to have a good time and learn new things about familiar sights and was not disappointed. Do this tour the first day you get to Paris. It is a good overview of the major sites. Paul is really enthusiastic and really knows his stuff. If this is your first time in Paris this a good way to to orient yourself to the major sights . This also a good time to take your pictures. I highly recommend this tour to all. We met people from all over the world. One word of caution, make sure you wear some good walkers. There are cobblestones in certain areas and places where if it has rained it will be muddy. I would not recommend any shoe with a high or skinny heel. Even though this a free tour don't be a cheapskate . Paris is expensive and this will be the best value for your dollar (excuse me euro) you will get while you are there so tip accordingly. Paul and Paulina, our guides, were amazing because they made everyone feel comfortable and included in the group. Paul is passionate about history, about buildings that are off the beaten path and especially about the history of Paris. From his accent, he sounds as if he is from the United States, but he is 1/2 French and 1/2 Mexican. They both made sure that everyone was always together which was great because some people like me naturally want to walk fast. Paul suggested that we pay what we believed we should pay.
