Dan did a great job from top to bottom, especially in steering us away from unscrupulous realtors and purchasers. He warned that one all-too-familiar tactic was to offer the full listing price and to then walk into closing and demand a significant price reduction, knowing that the sellers were "over a barrel" at that point. One such realtor, who refused to identify himself when confronted, showed up before the advertised first showing date with carloads of people, unannounced and uninvited, and then let them walk all around outside, climb up onto the deck, and even look into windows - all while we were sitting at the table eating lunch. He also kept trying to get into the house with his clients for an unsupervised "tour," both before and after the first showing date. Dan helped us fend him off and obtain 3 excellent offers from good-faith purchasers within 24 to 48 hours of the first showing. The sale went off without a hitch as Dan maneuvered through the challenging inspection process - even saving us significantly on commission by serving as buyer's agent as well. Thanks to Dan, we were able to close on our dream condo - on time and unbruised. The importance of hiring a realtor who "knows the lay of the land" cannot be overstated.

However he did not disclose to us that the garage on the property was condemned. All the fast talking he does and how convenient he left out all that information. We paid for a house with a garage. Now we have to pay the city 500$ fine and have less than 30 days. And we still have to demolish it anyway. And that is just the beginning of problems the property has with the city. The sad part is Mr. Fowler knew about this back in November of last year. When I think of all the smiling and hand shaking he does and all along he knew we were going to get slapped with a nightmare by the city. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the State of Michigan. Please be very aware of this guy.

If we ever had a problem, it would be fixed immediately. Usually Cal or his son would actually come to make sure everything was OK. We had a small easily fixed gas problem and they were there at the same time as the gas company even though it was 10 at night. They really care about their houses and their tenants. The only reason we moved is that we needed a bigger house. We were very sad that Fowler didnt have the type of rental that we were looking for because our current landlord situation is terrible. By far, Fowler was the best landlord we've ever had. We will be contacting them when we are ready to buy, for sure!
